Think there’s a shadow of a line and need to know to start meds - after many losses

I hope someone can help. I’m convinced there's a shadow of a line. I’ve had many losses and have been prescribed high dose prednisolone, progesterone, aspirin, clexan injection etc. as I have issues with NK cells. Most of my losses have been at a very early stage so it is time sensitive to start the meds; otherwise I’d just wait until I know for sure I’m pregnant. We cannot seem to get a decent pregnancy test. FRERs are nowhere to be found. DH is trying to get a boots 5 days early. I hate all the blue dye ones. Any other decent tests? I think a FRER might arrive from Amazon tomorrow but I’ve heard Amazon FRERs are dodgy. I don’t want to start that type of medication unnecessarily as it’s strong, progesterone messes with my cycle etc. But I’m also worried if I don’t ‘get in there’ early it will be another loss. Thought I saw a tiny shadow of line last night but it didn’t come up on a picture and I’m convinced today’s is noticeable (if you look closely). Any thoughts? What would you do?

Just wondering how you are OP.

UrsulaSings123 · 27/07/2024 23:22

@DancinOnTheCeiling hope you're doing OK, was thinking of you today.

DancinOnTheCeiling · 28/07/2024 09:35

Thank you @UrsulaSings123, that's so lovely. I am good, we are on holiday. We took a break from TTC as it hit me harder this time than before but we just started again. Something interesting happened: I went from 'I absolutely 100% must have another child or the world will end' to '90% of me would really love to and so longs for another child but 10% knows we will be okay if it doesn't happen'. It's quite nice to feel a little more relaxed.

How are you? And @nearly8 how are you?

And everyone else on this thread?

@Loveallaroundyou so sorry I didn't reply to your message back in June, I didn't receive a notification so didn't see it. See update I just wrote... thanks so much for checking in ♥️. How are you?

Hi @DancinOnTheCeiling I'm actually now past the age of conception, but I am glad you've come to terms with your situation and you're fairly okay. I have been thinking of you, too.

DancinOnTheCeiling · 28/07/2024 12:39

Thank you @TheShellBeach ♥️. You've been so supportive. I looked back over the thread and saw you said you had lots of miscarriages too. So sorry to hear this. Did you also have successful pregnancies/do you have DC?

I did have manage to have four DC.

But I had 15 pregnancies in total, all the miscarriages interspersed with the successful pregnancies.

It just seemed random. And very distressing, of course.

DancinOnTheCeiling · 29/07/2024 08:25

I can't believe you had 11 miscarriages @TheShellBeach, I'm so sorry to hear this. But so glad to hear you had 4 DC. Your story gives me hope that we might be able to have DC2 one day 🤞🏻🤞🏻. Thank you for sharing x

@DancinOnTheCeiling it's nice to hear from you. I'm sorry it hit you harder but that's good you feel a bit more relaxed about TTC. After my MC I really had a month or so when I wondered whether I really wanted another child or not, but I know I do. I love being able to spend all this time with my DS though 1:1. We're all good thanks.

Hi all, im sorry to post on someone else‘s thread and im so sorry for everyone’s losses.

I hope you don’t mind me asking for some
advice as I haven’t found many people
in real life with experience of multiple
mcs. Im having my 6th Mc at the moment, the 4th mmc. I’ve had 3 MVAs in the past but I was worried about scarring risk so opted for medical management this time. However, it’s looking like it hasn’t worked so I’m worried I might need surgery anyway.

I took the misoprostol last night and started cramping and bleeding but it has stayed really low level like a normal period and hasn’t ramped up - if anything it’s tailing off. I called the EPU and they said to give it 24 hours. Has anyone had a late onset response or am I basically doomed
to surgery now?

And has anyone had MVA/D&C more than 3 times and conceived afterwards?

In my case my first 5mcs were caused by autoimmune issues which are treated now, and I am very lucky to have 2DCs. This one seems to have been a “normal”
chromosomal one which blindsided me.

TheShellBeach · 29/07/2024 17:42

I had several D and Cs and conceived twice afterwards.

So sorry you're in this situation @JumpinJellyfish. I don't know the answer to either of your questions I'm afraid but bumping in case anyone else knows. For me the medical management didn't really do anything (see my earlier posts) but it is possible I had already passed everything at that point. I hope you're as okay as can be. So sorry you're in this position, sending hugs ♥️ x

How are you doing @JumpinJellyfish?

OP posts:
DancinOnTheCeiling · 07/08/2024 13:09

In case anyone is still reading, I got a BFP earlier. I think I am only 11 or 12 DPO, I had some light spotting yesterday so assumed AF is coming. We’re abroad on hols so only have pred and progesterone with me, so I started taking both. Will try to buy some baby aspirin later. Any form of blood or spotting has never been good news for me. I feel absolutely nothing and am assuming it’ll be another miscarriage. I know this sounds super negative but it’s just what seems to happen to me..

Congratulations!!! And good luck' 🤞🏼💞 I was sure I would MC our 2nd pregnancy again but she is now a two year old so there's always chance. 🤞🏼

TheShellBeach · 07/08/2024 13:43

Golly. I'm very glad you got a BFP @DancinOnTheCeiling!

But I expect you're feeling "here we go again" - happy, but anxious.

I'll be praying hard for you, that this one does become your DC2.

Exciting news! Have you started the meds again yet?

UrsulaSings123 · 07/08/2024 23:04

@DancinOnTheCeiling I am praying so hard for you. Please do let me know how you're getting on. I got a positive pregnancy test shortly after I posted on here last week as well. It's understandable you don't feel anything at this stage, your minds way of protecting yourself. Sending you much love and I hope you are managing to enjoy your holiday ❤️

JumpinJellyfish · 08/08/2024 10:41

@DancinOnTheCeiling huge congratulations to you! I know well how the anxiety feels and the need to protect yourself by not getting too invested. Fingers crossed though for you that this is the one.

TRIGGER WARNING

Also thank you so much for checking in on me. I ended up having another scan at the EPU which said that I had passed everything, even though I’d had minimal pain and bleeding, and no clots, which I just found completely bizarre! But then a few hours after the scan I stood up after going to the loo and felt something and passed the sac into my hands. I guess it must have been on its way out already by the the scan. Bleeding has basically stopped now and all in all I feel I’ve got off incredibly lightly on the physical side of things. Hoping to just move on and keep trying now.

DancingOnTheCeiling I am just reading through a few threads and came upon this one, I just wanted to say that I am very much thinking of you and literally praying for good news for you this time. Wishing you the very best of luck this time.

@TheShellBeach thank you so much. I've started some of the meds (prednisolone, progesterone and aspirin) but not the blood thinning injections yet as we're abroad on holiday and don't have them here. Back in the U.K. on Sunday though. It's 2 in the morning here, I slept from about 10-11pm and have been wide awake for almost 3 hours now 😳. I'm sure it's from the super high dose of pred - hoping I'll be able to get some sleep... x

@UrsulaSings123 that's amazing news, how lovely to hear. Congratulations! I feel very excited for you but feel nothing/numb for me - pregnancy after losses is tough isn't it? How are you feeling? And remind me if you're on any meds? X

Oh I'm so sorry you're going through this @JumpinJellyfish. Miscarriages are so so hard, and I wish we all didn't have to experience them. I hope you're as okay as can be and are looking after yourself ♥️.

And thank you for the lovely words about my BFP. x

That is so kind @Carportforme, thank you so much. Very much appreciated. It's really amazing how kind and supportive strangers on the internet can be 😍. I hope you're not affected by miscarriages yourself? x
