I thought it was supposed to prevent it.

@Ninaguineapig

Are you menopausal?

Are you a woman?

Ninaguineapig · 03/07/2023 16:46

I am very against hrt. I won't even talk to people who I know take hrt. Mil takes and I won't talk to her. If she tries to start conversation I just say little and go away.

why are you against it ?

You do realise that it's not transmitted by respiration? Are you confusing it with HPV? [[https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hantavirus_pulmonary_syndrome en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hantavirus_pulmonary_syndrome

This is getting silly now...

What an awful way to live your life, being so judgemental of others actions. Mind your own business!

I could understand this post if “HRT” were substituted with “crack”

Can you explain why you are against HRT in the way most people are against class A drugs?

Are you male? Do you think it will make you grow huge breasts?

OK op. I'm out.

I would comment but take hrt so you won’t reply 🤣..

AutumnCrow · 03/07/2023 20:23

Time for a pint, @sunglassesonthetable?

sunglassesonthetable · 03/07/2023 20:25

😄👍🏻

Ninaguineapig · 03/07/2023 20:47

I will start a thread for people who despises hrt. Hopefully likeminded people find it.

Free country and all that. " Despise " is such a strong word tbh.

Pearlsaminga · 03/07/2023 21:46

Just for the record I have not personally used HRT but I am not in any way shape or form against HRT.
Menopause can be very problematic and I'm glad it's available to those who benefit from it.

Good luck with that. 'Despise' might be a bit strong for most.

A thread for people not wishing to go down the HRT route, or unable to, would be more appropriate.

Or a thread for people like me who are concerned at the marketing efforts driven by private menopause clinics that seem more profit-driven than altruistic.

It's a business, of course it's profit driven
And as for the idea that Davina is altruistic 🤣
I suspect the main problem with HRT is it makes you obedient and compliant, oestrogen the people pleasing hormone- no thanks

God alive.

You seriously think this?

sunglassesonthetable · 04/07/2023 12:16

If it was that easy to make people 'obedient and compliant' it would have been available on tap to women decades ago.😄

I think this has been attempted before and it was bad, basically posters joined to insult and tear down anyone not for HRT

Although it was a while ago and things may have improved

I agree the op’s suggestion doesn’t sound right though

I do agree with this. I realise NHS Drs will be busy but why is it always Louise Newson featured, someone who obviously has a financial interest in getting more customers.

I'd like to see a for and against discussion with top experts to actually tell us how one study tells us it increases dementia while another tells us it protects against it.

It's worth looking up Nick Panay, if you haven't run across him.

Also, this study has likely been cited, but seems to contradict the assertion in this thread
