I can't find these anywhere, one Boots said they might get some end of November. I need to try and talk to my GP again but does anyone know of an alternative, or what happens if you stop taking them? I have been on oestrogel, about to switch to patches which I can get

I've got a couple of packets I could send you if you're desperate? I'm in intolerant to it and have been given something else.

FreakOfNature · 22/11/2022 17:39

I also have a few boxes free to a good home after having a Mirena coil fitted.

starlilly88 · 22/11/2022 17:41

Oh that would be amazing of both of you. Are they the 100mg ones?

You can email Besins customer service to ask if there is a national shortage or if it's just local to you and down to more demand in your area.

Lisajacj70 · 22/11/2022 20:08

Sane problem! Didn't even get to start tablets /gel as can't get hold of either ANYWHERE. Am starting on patches (Everil Conti)ASAP!! Good luck x

Absii · 22/11/2022 22:06

Starlilly, happy to send.

I've never personal messaged on here but if you send me your address and tell me where to find the message on the app, I'll send them :-)

Ginflinger · 22/11/2022 22:17

Hi@Absii sorry to hijack. I am really battling with utrogestan. Can I ask what you were given as an alternative and whether it worked? Thanks.

Absii · 22/11/2022 22:20

It's called Lutigest, but I've only just started it! I've not done well with any kind of progesterone to date so fingers crossed.

whydontpoo · 22/11/2022 22:26

I'm on my second month of lutigest after struggling with utrogeston. Well I say second month- I'm doing cyclical but only every 8-9 weeks or so as that part is so hellish. On agreement with my consultant.

I had quite a lot of physical side effects with utrogeston but they did fade off after a few months. Main issue is mental health- anger!!!! Pmt on steroids. Not sure lutigest was any better or worse. Is just awful.

Absii · 22/11/2022 22:33

Yep, same. Makes me super depressed and irritable. If this Lutigest doesn't work, I'll likely have to stop the rest of my hrt, which will be awful.

Ginflinger · 22/11/2022 22:35

Thanks so much, good to know, will look into it. In same boat, if I can't find something that's doesn't make me insane, I will have to stop hrt.

Afterfire · 22/11/2022 22:38

I collect my prescriptions through Boots and yesterday they didn’t have the utrogestan but they just said it was taking a couple of days to source and they expect to have it tomorrow.

HundredMilesAnHour · 22/11/2022 22:47

I only started HRT 2 weeks ago and my pharmacy could only fill half my prescription of Utrogestan. They're trying to order them in but nothing has arrived so far. Thank God I'm on sequential so my pill free period buys me 2 weeks before I start freaking out that they still haven't got any pills for me.

I'm in east London, definitely a shortage here.

starlilly88 · 23/11/2022 09:32

@Absii thank you so much for the offer. A friend might have a few spare, but I will PM you if not. Good luck with the alternative

I also have several months supply in stock, so can send some if people are desperate!

I know. I've been on a year and now sleep, no flushes- I love the oestrogen!

They've suggested a mirena! Like I want progesterone inside me all the time. Good lord.

I'm managing it by only taking it every couple of months. Last month I did t actually have a period afterwards (first time) so am assuming my lining wasn't significant if 14 days of progesterone didn't move it!

I don't know what to do. Except shut myself away for two weeks. Awful for my kids and partner.

No problem x

TheDogsMother · 23/11/2022 14:56

Try the Boots Prescription stock checker online. You can look at all the branches in your area. It helped me out during the recent Oestrogen shortages.

HeyLala · 28/11/2022 10:35

Morning
I've now run out and as of today there is no stock in Boots in South east london. Has anyone been able to get any from other Pharmacies?

The BMS website says that Utrogestran is available and no stock issues, so not sure wether to wait or try and get the alternative pessaries.

WarriorN · 28/11/2022 11:36

Diane Danzebrink (runs a meno charity) posted on her Instagram about this; there was a temporary issue but it should be in the country now but might take a couple of weeks for the supply to get into the stores.

Here, second item (after a gel bottle issue) www.instagram.com/tv/ClYOWnLIAHy/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=

DC1910 · 30/11/2022 17:25

Hi ladies. First time posting so hope I'm doing it right 🤣 I've just been prescribed Oestrogen gel along with Utrogestan 2x 100mg capsules in the last 3 days. I've just started on the Utrogestan last night but the chemist I got these from only had 12 in stock and advised me that they would owe me the rest. I'm really worried as I phoned Chemist today and they've said it could take weeks to get them. I've phoned 20+ chemists and they too don't have stock. I'm not sure what I should do when I run out. Can I just go without the Utrogestan for this month? 😬

NaTTJ · 07/01/2023 21:22

I'm having the same issue, I can not get hold of Utrogestan 100 anywhere...
Has anyone had any luck?

Dogsgottabone · 08/01/2023 17:08

@NaTTJ yes I got a three month supply of utrogestan from my GPs pharmacy on Friday. In the South.

greensa71 · 09/01/2023 12:55

Hi, my first time posting on here. I've just checked Besin's site and as of 2 Jan there is an interruption to supply of Utrogestan and have said wholesalers should be getting stocks this week, fingers crossed!

NaTTJ · 09/01/2023 16:04

Oh well done, fingers crossed 🤞
