We are moving to Madeley Heath in about 4 weeks (from Tuscany) and I wondered if there was anyone local to this place and if they could fill me in on things to see and places to go.

We will be opening a restaurant there too so although I wont have much free time, it would be nice to meet some people for coffee.

Anyone out there????

Mushy...come in and eat but do say hello first and then I can arrange your MN discount!!!!

We have a fine dining restaurant at the Old Swan and we have done up the restaurant side of it and gone non smoking!! We are very child friendly and do an Italian style menu at the weekends.

Does anyone want to arrange a meetup somewhere? Might do a new thread on it.

Hi

We have just recently moved to Tunstall all the way from Kent. We have been here about three months and are slowly settling in.

Collision hope we can take up the offer as well, love to meet up.

izzysmum · 02/11/2005 13:49

Yes we are enjoying life so far up here. It is just a bit strange not knowing where everything is and stuff and I miss the seaside a bit.

mushypeas · 15/11/2005 12:51

I'm a couple of miles away from Collision and don't work on Fridays and some Thursdays, but I would have to get back for school pick-up at 3. There is a Funsters in Stoke opposite the big Sainsbury's. I don't like it, but then I'm not a toddler .

collision · 16/12/2005 20:31

We really are useless at organising something arent we?

Is Crewe too far for everyone? There is a Wacky Warehouse at Rookery Hall we could meet at.

Any takers?

collision · 18/12/2005 21:59

I'd love to come too. Also Will definately be visiting the restaurant with dh and dd(nearly 3)!Will we need to book? Are you enjoying it here?

leggymamba · 19/12/2005 23:08

I'd still like to meet up but crewe is a bit far for me. Depending on times though might consider it.....

I'm also interested in how the restaurants going, have you been busy? How have the kids settled in? My friend's just moved to the next village and it's really upset her dd, it's been a month and she still keeps asking to go 'home'. How do you like Staffordshire?

collision · 21/12/2005 21:56

To be honest I am knackered!!!!!!!!

Everything has suddenly kicked off and we are booked all week.

DH was on a photo shoot for The Sentinel on Monday and app the article is going to be something about 'top London Chef moves to Madeley Heath and opens a restaurant.........locals are bemused!!!!'

No idea what the article will be like but might appeal to some. We are nonsmoking which smokers dont like (but i love!!) and more into the food than the beer! We have had lots of foodies in who have said we (Sorry to not sound modest!!!) are the best restaurant in the area!

I love living here and love doing normal things and going to the library in Newcastle and stuff and the boys love nursery.

We do lunch all week with an Italian menu and it is posher in the evening. look forward to seeing you all!

Crewe too far for lots of people. Where shall we go?

only just seen this again - meet up (after xmas maybe!) sounds nice. Rookery Hall easy for me, the kiddiekingdom at Freeport Talke is quite nice too?
(dd 4, goes to school mornings)

philippat · 21/12/2005 22:02

congrats on the sentinel article too - I'll look out for it! DH was similarly 'featured' in the sunday sentinel a few months ago

marinda · 23/12/2005 21:06

I will be up for meet-up in new year - live stafford way - anyone decided on location and times ? kids or not ? Newcastle way is OK for me.
