diedandgonetodevon · 20/02/2009 14:56

Are there any mums near Exeter who would like to meet up for a natter and a cuppa?

diedandgonetodevon · 10/04/2009 19:57

I'll have DH and the dog in tow tomorrow as we'll be en route to MIL's but am hoping he can take DS and DMutt for a walk so I can have a natter!

diedandgonetodevon i went to primary school in doddiscombsleigh! i grew up in dunchideock. small old world devon aint it?

DrowningInChocolateEggs · 10/04/2009 21:03

Did someone say 11 a few pages ago?

I'm wondering how I'll find everyone having not made it to the last one. I'll be the one approaching random groups of people going 'hello, have you died and gone to devon?'. I think I might not ask any questions about dragon butter with random strangers though...

Fennel · 10/04/2009 21:10

Well I'll be there about 11.40 or so but didn't some people say 11 further down the thread? The dds' party is somewhere between Doddiscombesleigh and Dunchideock (which could take me a while to locate, I often get lost around there). Do we have a code for meeting or will you all know each other? I might recognise Belcantwait but it's been a while.

diedandgonetodevon · 10/04/2009 21:50

We must have a MN 'look' about us as somehow we all seemed to hook up without too much bother!

Meeting somewhere between 11 & 12 would suit me as I will probably have to get my bum moving in the direction of MIL's by about 1-ish

Maybe someone who knows the place a bit better could suggest somewhere obvious to stand?

OP posts:
DrowningInChocolateEggs · 10/04/2009 22:04

Maybe we should meet in the cafe, that way if it's raining at least we won't get wet waiting for each other?

I'm picturing it being quite busy on an Easter weekend so we could do with some easy way to recognise each other...

littlelamb · 10/04/2009 22:08

We should all bring penguins in honour of most excellent thread

diedandgonetodevon · 10/04/2009 22:14

It was excellent wasn't it!

Damn, I don't own a penguin (though sorely tempted by the penguin t-shirts on that thread!) but I will have a small(ish) black and white dog with me.

OP posts:
DrowningInChocolateEggs · 10/04/2009 22:31

Scrap the cafe idea then as they probably won't let dogs in. I've looked at the weather and it says sunny tomorrow...if you believe the BBC.

I can bring a penguin , for some reason our house is overflowing with fluffy penguins.

diedandgonetodevon · 10/04/2009 22:37

DH can take the dog off for a walk so I can still go in the cafe.
Though if it's raining I'm afraid I shall bail out because we'll have to have the dog with us and I can't really expect DH to walk her in the wet just so I can go on a jolly.

Not sure we're going to make it as DS1 has just thrown up. I'm sure he'd love to tell you how 'it came out of my nose!' but we might have to pass.

Might make it along with DS2 though.
No penguins but DS2 does look half polar bear, will that be ok?

btw, penguins? what have i missed?

the earliest i can make it is probably around 11am.

does that time suit everyone then?

DrowningInChocolateEggs · 11/04/2009 09:02

The sun is shining!

So picnic bench around the sandpit at 11? How hard can it be to find a sandpit?

I'll have a penguin.

DrowningInChocolateEggs · 11/04/2009 09:25

Actually 11.30 might be better, DS isn't asleep yet and I'm not very good at finding places...

belcantwait · 11/04/2009 09:26

fennel, my firends ds is going to that party today as well . i have an idea where it might be

Fennel · 11/04/2009 09:33

I can't find our toy penguin but will come clasping a toy black and white panda, a pinkish rucksack, a spade and a 4yo girl with a blonde bob.

So who are we expecting?

diedandgonetodevon
nevergoogledragonbutter (maybe)
drowninginchocolateeggs
belcantwait
piximon
littlelamb (maybe)
fennel

Sandpit is easy to find if you get the right car park.

What has happened to the crepe van now bluebump, has your mum got another spot?

belcantwait · 11/04/2009 09:33

dragon butter . your poor ds1.

just wondering if anyone is actually going to actually 'do the walk' or just sit round the sand area?

Fennel · 11/04/2009 09:35

oh, bel, is it the waterfight and firepit party? I think it'll be quite big. It sounds fun.

I only have vague over-the-phone directions to it though.

DrowningInChocolateEggs · 11/04/2009 09:38

I was going to bring the all-terrain buggy so I can do a walk.

diedandgonetodevon · 11/04/2009 11:06

uh-oh my small, child-shaped alarm clock didn't wake us up until 10.20 so we're won't be able to get there in time.
Hope the rest of you have a great time!

OP posts:
bluebump · 11/04/2009 11:49

Fennel They sold the van in the end as they fancied a change and they have a retro looking ice cream van that they will be zooming around in instead. It looks slightly cool but slightly hilarious so you can't miss it if it passes you around Devon! Their crepe van pitch was supposed to be for around 6 months and they were there for years in the end so they did well out of that pitch!

Hopefully i'll catch you all on another meet up!

nevergoogledragonbutter · 11/04/2009 19:29

hope the meetup went well.
DS1 vomitted twice this morning.
and i don't think i'm going to be far behind him.
bleeee.

looked like a good day for haldon.

Nettee · 11/04/2009 19:37

Have totally missed this thread for a while and can't believe you all met up at Haldon Forest today and that two of you used to live in Doddiscombsleigh - Which is where I live. Hope you had a good time, lovely weather today - I was working anyway so wouldn't have made it but will try and keep more of an eye out for this thread and see if I can make the next one.

littlelamb · 11/04/2009 19:43

Lovely afternoon, thanks everyone Pixi, you (and Mr pixi) are stars for the lift. We were seen quite quickly in hospital, bizarely it was the same nurse we saw at the other walk in centre yesterday, who said he was about to ring us to see how ds was as it had been playing on his mind He is now dosed up with foul tasting bright pink medicine (which I have to force into him 5 times a day) and asleep. I have never bene to Haldon before but will now be trying to cadge lifts off whoever will take me, not least so I can have a go on one of those cool looking Segways

piximon · 11/04/2009 19:55

Really nice afternoon and lovely to meet you or see you again in the case of LL & Bel.

LL poor ds, hope he's better soon.

DrowningInChocolateEggs · 11/04/2009 19:59

Was a good afternoon, lovely to meet everyone.

LL or pixi please could you remind me (again) what the name of that sling was? I'd love to blame it on baby brain but I think my memory was always like this!

Hope all the poorly babies are better soon .

And incredibly of the lie-in. Can you give DS a few lessons?
