Are there any mums near Exeter who would like to meet up for a natter and a cuppa?

maybe thats where you know me from then ll

littlelamb · 30/03/2009 22:11

Oh lordy how bizarre would that be?! It was about 5 years ago, he was called Craig something and he studied design. I worked with him in the summer in a chicken factory. Oh the glamour

PhoenixFirefly · 30/03/2009 22:24

doesnt sound familiar ll, but i was in cambridge 5 years ago so maybe we walked past each other or something lol

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 31/03/2009 12:25

LL - I thought you were probably thinking of APU as well so no clanger

Phoenix - it's a lovely city to study in isn't it? I haven't been back for a couple of years but I'm looking forward to taking DD up to visit sometime.

We were there 5 years ago as well (I graduated 2005, DH 2006).

Unlikelyamazonian · 01/04/2009 18:21

Sorry ladies, I can't be there on sunday.

I know you will all have a great time though.

x

littlelamb · 01/04/2009 18:24

I think you're a week out Amazonian
But while I've got everyones attention- Don't forget the NCT nearly new sale on Saturday, St Lukes Sports Hall (by the police station) starts at 11 I have a sneaking suspicion I may not be the only one of us helping out

Unlikelyamazonian · 01/04/2009 19:24

oops yes, I meant the 29th. Weeks are rushing past..x

Unlikelyamazonian · 01/04/2009 19:25

bloody hell am a total fruit...that has gone already. How did it go???

nevergoogledragonbutter · 01/04/2009 20:03

you are a total fruit
it was good.
although i suspect alcohol might help things along next time.
oh and lets get rid of the long table, i didn't meet the people at the other end.

diedandgonetodevon · 01/04/2009 20:12

Arf! Lucky you weren't free next Sunday and didn't just turn up and find yourself all alone

Alcohol, no long table and child-free would definitely help things along next time.

nevergoogledragonbutter · 01/04/2009 20:28

can we have another meetup soon, as i still have to sort out testers for those nappies?

DrowningInClutter · 01/04/2009 20:55

Glad it all went so well that you're already talking about doing it again , this time I'm hoping I'll make it.

DB - did you get enough nappy testers? I didn't ask as I thought it'd be too complicated when I wasn't going to be there. If you do need more (and we're there next time) I'm sure DS would be happy to be a guinea-pig.

littlelamb · 01/04/2009 20:58

While this is bumped, does anyone know a good local herbalist? I've been told it would probably help with ds's skin but noone I know has been able to recommend one.

PhoenixFirefly · 01/04/2009 22:11

how soon were you thinking db?

19fran76 · 01/04/2009 23:04

Ha, Nevergoogle! - your nickname is now a reverse psychology trick, uh? Sly . I would be very happy to get a 2nd chance offer on meeting up. I am a conversational blunder waiting to happen. Should fit in well by all accounts. Glad the meet entertained you all.

Unlikelyamazonian · 02/04/2009 08:46

No alcohol ????

I am told by my HV that the man who runs the pharmacy/herbal place (?) on Bear street in Barnstaple is very very good with suggesting herbal remedies. Think his name is Phil but maybe you know the place she means anyway... I need to get something for nightmares about arsewipe xx

Fennel · 02/04/2009 10:17

I'll meet up next time, though we are post-nappies (thank goodness).

I am around all next week with all 3 dds, and I'm free most evenings too for evening meet-up-with-alcohol.

Littlelamb, I know there was another mumsnetter on that women's day march, they're everywhere....

littlelamb · 02/04/2009 10:27

Ooo yes?! There are 2 people I know that I have my suspicions about Give me a clue. Go on We all got soaked

Fennel · 02/04/2009 13:14

She was in an Express and Echo photo of the march.

If we meet in person ever I'll tell you, or maybe she'll come, but I don't want to give out people's personal details online.

littlelamb · 02/04/2009 15:49

We're in that photo too fennel

Fennel · 02/04/2009 17:15

oh really

it's a small city isn't it?

pavlovthepregnantcat · 02/04/2009 17:23

I did not get to meet half the people who came as I at first spoke to the lovely people at my end of the table, and after running after DD for a while, many of those I had not spoken to had already gone . Probably had something to do with me not getting there until 2pm!

Definitely up for doing a child-free meet-up, although will pass on the alcohol currently I don't need alcohol to make a fool of myself

nevergoogledragonbutter · 02/04/2009 18:34

can we do it again in a couple of weeks so i can do this nappy thing?

17th/18th/19th april?

an evening thing would be nice, but i'm not bringing nappies on a night out.

belcantwait · 02/04/2009 19:16

good idea am all up for an evening meet up. esp with alcohol. always with alcohol.
have accidentally drunk 3 glasses of wine by 6pm this eve as had a bit of a melodramatic trauma re ds1 who seemsd to have disappeared. but has now reappeared courtesy of my mother. i had left him at home for an hour while i took dd to her friends house, he didnt want to come. so strict instructions not to answer door but to answer phone as i would prob ring him to check on him. anyway i phoned after an hour and no reply, i was on way home. it kept on going to bloody ansaphone so called back home. he was nowhere to be seen. front door locked, back door wide open. cue complete panic stations. anyway after about half a bloody hour of nearly having a heart attack my friend who was keeping me calm (not) found the tiniest note on the dining table, amongst the usual clutter, from ds saying he had gone to the shops with my mum. arrghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!
anyway i gave her a right royal telling off when she came back with him- i was literally just about to call the police when my friend found the note (i'd prob be reported to bloody ss as well then for leaving him home alone or something then so good job i didnt).and.........breathe. ah! sorry about that just had to let it all out. {relief}

{bel considers merits of opening second bottle of medicinal wine and scoffing dh's lindt easter bunny}

nevergoogledragonbutter · 02/04/2009 19:20

eat the bunny.
