Are there any mums near Exeter who would like to meet up for a natter and a cuppa?

I own a lovely mini boden dress for dd, in a sale at £12 and pair of trousers for her at £9, plus free p&p courtesy of MN, for me, I own nowt!

ooooh, where to meet. See, last time I lived in Exeter, I lived in the pub mainly as child free! Lived in St Leonards, lived in the pub, whatsitcalled, ate in The Cat in the Hat or the Hour Glass (oh my fave place back then) and lunched at Bon Gout. I swear much of my debt went to keeping Magdelene Rd afloat!!!

And now, we tend to go to Wagamma's where my DD destroys the place!

pavlovthecat · 22/02/2009 20:19

Eyefull - child not in school full time...I am though!!!

dragonbutter · 22/02/2009 20:26

PhoenixFirefly · 22/02/2009 20:27

littlelamb i was in dinkys a couple of weeks ago and got very scared by the alpha mummies glaring at me and my child lol

how old are all of your children? so we can pick somewhere suitable. my DS is 2.3yo

diedandgonetodevon · 22/02/2009 20:31

I'm in, if I can, but don't arrange anything around me cos of work. (the only Boden item I own is a jacket I bought at a scary clearance sale once, is that ok? )

dragonbutter · 22/02/2009 20:32

4 years and nearly 2.

PhoenixFirefly · 22/02/2009 20:43

does anyone have any suggesdtions for where? i've lived down here for two years but i dont get out much due to work so i dont really know anywhere apart from dinkys and ive only been there once

pavlovthecat · 22/02/2009 20:46

just re-read that last post of mine, that along with my comment about bodens, gosh you must all think I am a snob or something.... I was not a mum then!

diedandgonetodevon · 22/02/2009 20:50

Is Boston Tea Party still on Queen St? Upstairs with the sofas was always quite child friendly

OP posts:
PhoenixFirefly · 22/02/2009 20:51

that is a fair point though, how would we recognise each other?

PhoenixFirefly · 22/02/2009 20:52

it is still there diedandgonetodevon. it looks quite nioce there although i have never been in because at a glance it didnt look very pushchair friendly.

dragonbutter · 22/02/2009 20:54

actually good point about the pushchairs. Think it could be difficult.

We will probably recognise each other by the slightly shifty, aprehensive looks on our faces! tho it is something we'll have to work out - not sure how these things usually work

Grin
PhoenixFirefly · 22/02/2009 21:00

lol sorry x-posts, the was at dragonbutter

Fennel · 22/02/2009 21:03

I would come if it's not when I'm working. And I don't have a baby or toddler to bring, my youngest has just started school.

I like Boston tea party. I used to heave the buggy up the stairs, it's child-friendly apart from getting up and down the stairs. Lots of room.

pavlovthecat · 22/02/2009 21:09

Boston Tea Party sounds good, DD wont have her pushchair, or if we bring it, I don't mind cluttering the downstairs with it!

I like the Art centre, but not sure how child friendly it is? although it is quite spacious.

Fennel - you can share my DD if you want, I am sure she won't mind jumping all over you!

littlelamb · 22/02/2009 21:10

Oooo Hoochie- you aint seen me, right BTP is good actually, though not the same since they cleaned it up and put fresh paint on the walls. Best brownies in the entire world though, and I know the chef so may even get a cheeky discount Buggies are luggable up the stairs but I'm not sure there'd be room for loads- it's all about the slings, ladies.

PhoenixFirefly · 22/02/2009 21:11

boston tea party sounds ok then, though i rarely use a pushchair for DS anymore, so i'll let the people who do use them have the final decision.

fennel children arent compulsory

littlelamb · 22/02/2009 21:12

Ooo yes Pav, the Phoenix is good too. I was there last week and they have excellent dirty burgers. We had about 6 children in tow and they didn't seem to mind.

diedandgonetodevon · 22/02/2009 21:14

I sling DS around so won't have the buggy with me either.

BTP do the best white hot choc in the world

Fennel · 22/02/2009 21:15

I could hold someone's cute little newborn maybe? I like newborns.

Pavlov do you mean the Phoenix? I met a mumsnetter there once, mid morning, with my toddler. It was quite suitable, lots of space and empty sofas.

littlelamb · 22/02/2009 21:16

I am wondering who I do actually know now (Not you hoochie, I know you but I don't know you- have a v good mutual facebook friend I believe )
