Are there any mums near Exeter who would like to meet up for a natter and a cuppa?

i am crap with names, say inappropriate things, swear AND smoke. i would prob drink myself stupid as well given the chance sometimes all at the same time! littllamb- my dd is the same age as yours. maybe i will bring her and they can occupy each other?

littlelamb · 28/03/2009 17:33

Ooo belcantwait my dd would love that SHe is very excited I have to say and it's been excellent bribery material all week 'behave if you want to go and meet some friends at the theatre' I am going to have to think of something else to bribe coerce her with after tomorrow

belcantwait · 28/03/2009 17:39

ooh yes ok i will, but , hmmmm, who will volunteer to watch over dd while i nip outside for a fag breath of fresh air???

diedandgonetodevon · 28/03/2009 17:41

I'll envy you watch your daughter Bel

i was actually planning on having a hangover tomorrow- was meant to have a couple of friends over this evening for drinks and gossip but they cant make it now and i am gutted . was really looking forward to it. still, at least i have tomorrow to look forward to

belcantwait · 28/03/2009 17:42

lol diedandgonetodevon thanks!

belcantwait · 28/03/2009 17:43

better go and make kids tea. they appear to be murdering each other downstairs! see you all tomorrow !!!!!

PhoenixFirefly · 28/03/2009 19:28

would it be OTT if i stuck a sticky label to myself that said 'hi my name is DAVE' ?? lol

littlelamb · 28/03/2009 19:30

I was going to wear my 'keep on truckin' hat

littlelamb · 28/03/2009 19:30

I do not own a keep on truckin hat

bluebump · 28/03/2009 19:40

Well I got out of my plans for tomorrow so was very much looking forward to coming and then the exhaust dropped off my car yesterday so i'm not sure that I am going to be able to get in. DP has to meet a friend tomorrow so I am trying to convince him that Exeter is a good place to meet him so you never know I may make it but now it's looking very unlikely. If I don't make it, have fun and please all like each other and arrange another date very soon!

belcantwait · 28/03/2009 19:58

oh blue, do persuade him. there are some nice pubs in exeter tell him...

have told dd she is coming to make new friends tomorrow while hopefully mummy makes new friends too. she is excited as well! may both have to get our best frocks on . well dd might, i will prob stick to the usual {sigh}

diedandgonetodevon · 28/03/2009 20:01

oh god, am now having visions of you all being completely gorgeous glamour-pusses and having a real wardrobe crisis! What does one wear to meet a mumsnetter? (if anyone says 'Boden' I might cry )

OP posts:
belcantwait · 28/03/2009 20:05

boden

littlelamb · 28/03/2009 20:06

O god no I forbid you all to dress up. I shall be wearing whatever doesn't have baby bogey on the shoulder

belcantwait · 28/03/2009 20:06

will i be ostracised form the group if dd wears boden? {worries}

bluebump · 28/03/2009 20:07

Hah belcantwait, those two are very familiar with the pubs in town so i'm still hopeful - oh and diedandgonetodevon I am far from glam so if I make it i'll be the one with the big brown roots in my highlighted hair!!

belcantwait · 28/03/2009 20:07

i will be wearing whatever doent make me look like a total lard. does that help?

belcantwait · 28/03/2009 20:08

me too bluebump. my hair was last done in dec ffs

19fran76 · 28/03/2009 20:18

Big apologies, I have become a late cancellation. My brother has turned up on a visit (from afar) & I feel obliged to entertain him. Boo hiss! Will check back in the hope that another meet up is arranged. Y'all have a good, lapsing into inappropriate, time. Still, s'pose I'm saved from wardrobe misery & my hair was definately going to have been hidden under a hat.

piximon · 28/03/2009 20:19

dragonbutter I have 3 in nappies if you're still looking. dts (2.3) in size 4 and ds3 (1) in size 3.

I'm so nervous about meeting you all. I'm bringing dd1 (4.6) to keep me safe meet you all, she can't wait.

I'll be the plump one in black with a slightly vacant lost look.

PhoenixFirefly · 28/03/2009 20:25

i hadnt considered anything but my usual jeans, but now im worrying. i was thinking i'd wear me boots instead of trainers, but i dont want to tower over everyone, i take up enough space sideways as it is.

littlelamb · 28/03/2009 20:29

Ahhhhh Piximon (not stalking you, honest)
If you're about tomorrow do you want to come and pick up the carseat? I think we'll be out and about pretty early in the morning but I could give you directions from the Phoenix if you want to come by afterwards?

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 28/03/2009 20:33

Dragonbutter - if you're still looking for nappy testers, I'll do it (although I know it's probably too late). DD is in size 3.

I'm definitely not a glamour puss but will be the exhausted-looking quiet one I don't think I fit into have any Boden stuff.

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 28/03/2009 20:34

I will most certainly be in jeans (cos that's the only thing that fits) and a random unsnotty (I hope) top! No boden here

And you'll all be able to laugh at see the heavily pregnant waddle!!

Right now off to check the time ( and change my clocks so it really is the right time) and google the bloody place i'm supposed to be at.

(not done very well with the whole date / time thing recently got 2 out of 3 events wrong so here goes nothing!)

PS I am secretly quite looking forward too terrified of the whole thing
