Well, I bought those LK Bennet shoes today. They were half price in the sale (but still £74 ). Dh was with me though and said they were very nice. He had even passed up on apir of balck Clark's ones at only £52, saying they were a bit "ordinary".

Mind you, it was only after we had tried Clark's and M&S that he admitted that a flier had come in a couple fo days ago from LK Bennet, which he had hidden, saying that thier sale had started! [

Still don'tknow if I have a job - should find out next week. Having said that, having done the sums, redundnacy is lloking appealing!

I'm looking forward to the night out

It'll be good to get away from the stress at home: it is looking like I will indeed be made redundant and while I am not necessarily that bothered by it (I wanted out anyway - and this way I get to go with a good package: 22 weeks tax free plus 3 months Pay in Lieu of Notice - plus a massive bonus, which I will make sure I get) my dh is having kittens about it and wants me to appeal the process, cancel Christmas (except for ds) and generally panicing about it.

I'd be happy if it weren't for him! SOrry for the thread hi-jack - I just needed to get that out of my system!

PB sounds to me like you should just enjoy xmas and worry about the job later

sorry to hear your news

That's waht I want to do. Tell that to my dh though!

However, on the night out, that is exactly waht I intend to do!

prettybird · 09/12/2008 15:29

These are the shoes that I got.

I also bought a [http://www.phase-eight.co.uk/fcp/product/fashion/Skirts/Sabrina-Tafetta-skirt/800679762?colour=red skirt]] that I might wear instead of my Nicole Farhi dress - although I have also bought a pair of purple opaque tights that would look effective with that high split!

prettybird · 09/12/2008 15:30

Skirt

Well, I've changed to my festive name - but don't think I have managed to move" my profile. Not helped by the fact that Internet explorer keeps on carshing on me.

Can't believe that this is next weekend!! I don't feel Christmassy in the slightest.

Possibly because I am the biggest bah humbug out there.....

nailpolish · 12/12/2008 08:39

you need to get yourself down to the winter wonderland in the gardens MB

i took the girls iceskating - what a laugh! dd2 had the teeeniest little iceskates - they have a smaller rink for little children and parents - i havent laughed so much in ages - it was like bambi on the ice - legs and arms everywhere - dd1 just went for it and got stranded in the middle of the rink - we got the bus back home soaked through with hot chocolates in our freezing hands

I can;t wait for next weekend. I feel pretty christmassy. This week we put our very little but jolly tree up, I've seen dd as a star in the nativity and I spent two evenings wrapping pressies. Thankfully I don't have the stress of the dreaded xmas tesco shop as we are heading off to Devon for xmas. I bought myself some fab silver nail polish for next weeks night out as a little reward for being so brave during a colposcopy I had yesterday. Now that is over, bring on christmas.
Oh, and we woke up to snow this morning, lovely.

nailpolish · 12/12/2008 09:05

oh no lilliput i didnt know you were unwell - sorry to hear that

looking forward ot seeing you next weekend

Turns out to be nothing serious thankfully. I had a couple of polyps removed from my cervix. I just hate the indignity of things like that.
I'll text you during the week about when I'm arriving. Thanks again, NP, for letting me stay with you.

nailpolish · 12/12/2008 09:29

glad to h ear it wasnt serious. still pretty horrible for you though

we CANNOT be hungover like we were lst time, lilliput, cos dh is golfing the next day and we will have to actually look after the children

OP posts:
Lilliput · 12/12/2008 10:10

No, you are right. We were not a pretty sight last time and I feel quite ashamed that I drove home in that state. I have a friends xmas party in the afternoon on the Sunday so I won't have a chance to go back to bed and I don't want to look like shite for it either!
Howver, I won't be drinking tea all night! ( Mawbroon)

mawbroon · 12/12/2008 15:47

Sadly neither will I Lilliput.

The caffeine keeps me awake at night!!

How sad has my world become when even tea is too much for me.

I will probably be on soda water.

prettybirdinapeartree · 12/12/2008 16:03

Mawbroon -have yuo tried Rooibos (Redbush) tea? It is caffeine free and I like it as a substitute for tea as it tastes good both with and without milk.
