Hi girls. Hope the Glasgow contingent got safely home.

I had a lovely time tonight and am even home at a sensible time!! The time just flew and sorry to those of you who i didn't get a chance to speak to, I wasn't being rude, honest, there just didn't seem to be enough time!

Thanks to everyone who organised it.

Butterfly i didn't even come over and introduce myself I was so busy chatting and didn't realise the time. I should have tho!!

Glad you had a good time and hope you can make the next one.

Was lovely to see everyone again.

Bongosmum thanks so much for doing the deposits and hope to see you again soon too.

I was up at 8am this morning and didn't feel in the least bit hungover (which isn't normal after a MN meet for me) but i def have a chest infection so will try and see the doc tomorrow.

Hope you all had a good time and have a great Christmas all xx

aGalChangedHerName · 21/12/2008 10:21

Oh and btw Lilliput i have giggled randomly at the story of ds singing out to you in the morning!!!

I won't forget that one in a hurry lol.

liath · 21/12/2008 12:06

Me too, Agal! Especially when I heard "Mummeeeee I need a weeeeee-weeee" at 6am .

Had a lovely time last night, thatnks so much for everyone organising it and thanks for the lift Mawbroon.

I have to say, I was well impressed by how well turned out evryone was, I reckon we looked like a really stylish bunch (and no bums hanging out of dresses either ). The youth on next-door tables could learn a thing or two .

sunnygirl1412 · 21/12/2008 15:50

I had a great night too - it was lovely to get to meet such nice people. The Glasgow contingent made it back to Glasgow safely, and prettybird and I got home safe too (dh having kindly provided taxi service).

I was deeply impressed at the ability of mumsnet mums to absorb gin - though more could have been absorbed if the waiter had brought it. By the time we left, Cafe Rouge had run out of gin!!

I'm looking forward to the next meet up.

gingerwenceslas · 21/12/2008 16:41

I'm really glad I came out for my first meet-up. It was lovely to meet you all and big thanks to those who organised it

sunnygirl1412 · 21/12/2008 16:50

Yes - apologies for forgetting to thank the organisers and especially bongosmum for handling the finances.

prettybirdinapeartree · 21/12/2008 17:01

Yes it was a good evening

Thnaks to Bongosmum and nailpolsih for getting it booked/deposit paid/food ordered etc.

And thanks to Sunnygrl's dh for giving me a lift home. It's a small world: it turns out her wnet ot the same primary school as me and was probably in the year below me, in the same year as my brother. ...but he was only there for a year.

We did indeed all look a stylish bunch. I just loved Gomez/ dress. It's nice to hae the chance to make a bit of an effort - even if my dress is a bit tighter than usual

Next meet-up, Glasgow (probably Princes Square unless anyone else has another suggestion?), a weekend lunchtime, so that kids can come if wanted/necessary? February time to let the finance recover after Christmas?

prettybirdinapeartree · 21/12/2008 17:10

Snowleopard: I've looked up the books you were talking about. They look really good: I may well get some for ds as I think he's really enjoy them

bongosmum · 21/12/2008 17:16

Hello Everybody,

Thank you for not being scary! i had a great time - even without drink! And look forward to Glasgow....Merry Christmas

gomez · 21/12/2008 18:44

Hello All - a pleasure as always. Bongosmum apologies for not thanking you last night for deposit taking and bill splitting duties but thanks.

Mawbroon - taxi service with a smile again.

A remarkably civillised affair last night but nice to meet some new folk and catch up with some of the usual suspects. 'Tis a shame didn't get a chance to mingle abit more - blame (a) the lack of gin and (b) Strictly Come Dancing Tribute shoes

Was very surprised to be capable of trotting up to John Lewis by 10.30, followed by a nice Valvonna & Corolla lunchette to myself before driving home (slowly).

Hope to see you all soon - Glasgow works for me.

mawbroon · 21/12/2008 21:28

I am sure I can do Glasgow in Feb. Hang on will check my diary.

Oh, it's blank....

DS woke at 10.30pm last night and howled for half an hour for mummy and milk. He woke later too, just as I was falling asleep. And then we co slept until 7am. I kicked DH out of bed and got another 3 hours.

I felt like I had drunk 20 pints last night. And boy, I looked it too!! WTF was that about?

liath · 21/12/2008 22:15

That will have been the spiked drinks, MB .
