For Katzguk:

Your 45 minute bump massage has been book for 3pm. The rest of the time you are able to enjoy the facilities of the relaxattion room. Your treatment was £40. Cheque

I have secured all treatments/Spa on my credit card for now. But they would like us to pay before hand if possible. Cheque is fine.

  • You can make a cheque payable to Spa 1877
  • Please e-mail me on claireandrich(at)beeb(dot)net for my postal address.
  • If you can try and get them to me asap, I will take them over
  • I will also need your full name at that time for the Spa - can't really book in MN names!!!

On arrival at the Spa, if not been before, you will need to fill out a short medical/health form. Just tick no to everything - Joking!!!

Have a wonderful time ladies.

Do wish I was coming with you but my weekend is already spoken for.

gingerbear · 20/04/2005 11:22

jnbsmum I will be waiting for the 13:43 tram from Meadowhall. CAT me and I will give you my mobile no. if you want to meet me.

Anybody any idea what time we might be finished after the meal? I can catch the a tram/train back at twenty to 9 or 10pm from West Street, but it is awkward for earlier - I might have to get a lift otherwise?

gingerbear · 20/04/2005 17:20

hula I am coming up the M1 but I guess it's the same for me and Yorkiegirl (IYSWIM).
Have however looked at the map on the brochure and the map in the map book and it looks OK.
I am allowing an hour from Derby (in the nroth of the city so quite quick to M1) - would you say this was enough???
and maybe you could email me yr number if you get a mo.
Really excited about this!!

katzguk · 20/04/2005 18:27

hula not sure these will help but on the uni webpage (link below) you can get directions to mappin street, so not far then up to the spar

directions

katzguk · 20/04/2005 18:28

thanks yorkiegirl that would be great

Hulababy · 20/04/2005 19:00

Will do them tonight.

Yorkiegirl - are you coming right down M1 to the parkway roundabout (J33) - or cutting through on A61 (J35??? or similar)

Okay - from J33 of the M1 (the main Sheffield turn off)

Come off at J33 and follow signs to Sheffield city centre. This is a 70mph road for first few miles, and then turns to 50mph (just after the ASDA turn off). Be warned there are regularly traffic police on there!

Keep going and you will approach some traffic lights - this bit is40mph and there is a speed camera!

Go straight over at the traffic lights and get into the 3rd lane (or second from right). You will then come to more traffic lights and the big park square roundabout - it looks worse than it is!

You are going to go straight over and into the city centre. It is the 4th exit (the swimming pool will be n your left - follow the big tram bridge )

Go straight on at the first traffic lights, but move into left hand lane straight after this.

The road bends to the left - follow it. You will then pass by a NCP carpark (on left) and then the theatres (on the right - look out for the snooker stars!)

There are loads of traffic lights on this road. Kepp going straight on until you get to a roundabout - get into right hand lane.

Turn right at roundabout and go straight over the next two sets of traffic lights (you'll pass McDonalds and Debenhams).

At the roundabout get in the left hand lane BUT go straight over - 2nd exit. Beware of cars turning here on your right, it is a funny junction. You will now go past a fire station (on right).

Go striaght over the traffic lights and you'll come to a T junction.

Turn right and you'll pass a big apartment complex (where I live )

On the right there is a car* park. You can park here (it is the dearer car park, but lit up at night) or....

Go straight on to the traffic lights. Get into left hand lane. Turn left and then take your first proper road on the left - Cavendish Street.

There is a car park on your right - to get into into it - go beyond it and turn right near to the church place and then turn right again into car park. This one is £1.50 a day, but smaller (and maybe busier) and not well lit at night.

How to get to the Spa:

If in larger car park - cross road and walk through the middle paved bit through the West One apartments. You will pass some restauranants and shops. Walk right through and you will then see the other car park.

To your right you should see a large building, with a narrow alleyway/road down theside of it. This is the Weatherspoons pub (back of it) and some apartments - look up to see the one featured on relocation

Walk down the alley way and at end turn right. The 3rd (?) entrace is the Spa - it is signed.

This is not your quickest route Yorkiegirl, but it is the easiest for me to direct you down!

Hi ll,

Really looking forwardto seeing you all on Saturday.

I may be coming on my own by train though.
My friend's yoiungest son has a chest infection that may turn into croup. She will let me know for definite tomorrow.

Could you possibly give me directions from the station just in case.

Thanks

gingerbear · 21/04/2005 19:33

bump

Madam Butterfly, I am no expert, but I think you need a Blue route tram going to Marlin Bridge and get off at West Street??

Hula can you help??

Hula - my DH will try to phone your DH tomorrow pm at home to finalise details unless he finishes planning his lesson for job interview soon.

Hulababy · 21/04/2005 20:45

MB - I put instruction for train further down, let me get them.............

...here we are:

If coming on train right into Sheffield:

Head to back of station to the tram stops (opposite side to the normal exit). You need to get the blue route tram, the one that goes to Malin Bridge. Again get off at West Street.

Then all of you:

Walk further down West Street now (follow where the tram is heading). Keep walking and eventually (not far) you will pass another big block of apartments (West One). Cross the road after these and you will pass the Weatherspoons pub (the Swim Inn) and also a chinese. Take your next left - this is Victoria Street, which is where the Spa is. Head down that road and the Spa is a little doorway - has signs, etc outside. The walk is no more than 5 minutes or so

I would definitely come on the tram from the station - much easier than trying to find your way right through the city centre.
