HI, I am moving to Maidstone from Ireland in 4 weeks have ds 2.5 and dd 10 months I don't know anyone in the area and would really appreciate some mummy friends.. anyone interested in a meet up mid september??

OP posts:
Wisknit · 02/10/2008 11:54

at least when I do finally mange to make it I should be quite easily identifiable
My brightly striped didymos sling is fairly obvious - that said I'll probably end up having to use the tandem or something!

AnnVan · 02/10/2008 13:46

Wisknit - Would you like to do lunch after LLL meeting next week??

Wisknit · 02/10/2008 15:33

Assuming the weather is okay I would love to. I normally go to the cathedral tea rooms as there is a garden with room for the beasts to run free. If weather is crappy I might be driving so would then be going to see family.
All being well I'll see you then.

Eddas · 02/10/2008 21:34

It was lovely to meet you all today

Looking forward to meeting the missing people some time soon

stroppyknickers · 03/10/2008 07:54

Same here. Mine are still on about 'so who are your new friends mummy? did you know who they were etc etc

Wisknit · 04/10/2008 09:16

AnnVAnn - I've got my days mixed up. Next meeting tuesday week i.e the 14th. Sorry. Would love to have lunch after that one though.

AnnVan · 04/10/2008 19:02

Tuesday 14th? sounds good to me. I'm going to see what bounce and Rhyme is like this tuesday then. Trying to do something most days so don't end up moping at home. HZave a bf group at local childrens centre on mondays as well

Wisknit · 05/10/2008 21:16

Milk and biscuits? I thought I'd mentioned that. A fellow peer supporter helps facilitate that group. She's the skinny one whos is heavily pregnant but still looks good in her skinny jeans. In my opinion anyone who pulls off the skinny jeans look should be shot! Let alone when almost term pregnancy!
Anyway, hope you enjoy those groups.

AnnVan · 06/10/2008 18:52

Lol Wisknit, know the one you mean, she's 36 weeks pg at the moment?? And scoffed several chocolate digestives as well, so how does she stay so skinny?? Didn't go today though, as me and LO still full of cold, and had HV coming round as well.

Wisknit · 07/10/2008 10:07

Yes, 36-37 weeks or so. I'm always trying to feed her. But it doesn't work. Her mum is still really slim too. Hope you and baby feeling better soon.

AnnVan · 13/10/2008 18:45

Wisknit - where is the LLL meeting tomorrow? Will probably be there as having a few bf issues at the mo

Wisknit · 22/10/2008 21:41

Sorry! It didn't tell mme there were any new messages. There was a meeting on the 13th and will be another one next week. BUT in your notes/discharge pack there should be a list of local peer supporters and the national helplines + the local LLL BF counsellours. I hope this isn't too late, so sorry was at the last meeting too and was wondering of you would turn up. Best wishes.

AnnVan · 26/10/2008 01:45

I didn't end up getting there, we're having horrendous problems getting him to sleep since he had this blasted cold, so overslept in the morning. I'm guessing you're not going to be around this area any more? have you moved now? Hah, the hospital list is useless, none of them answer their phones. THe third from last on the list was the only one to answer and she isn't a peer supporter any more. I actually got the lady from Milk and Biscuits round. We've given up in despair tonight and given him a dummy, but he's finally asleep at least.

Wisknit · 26/10/2008 08:52

I haven't moved yet. PLease call if you want. RebeccaCluett.

Next one is tuesday but it is the 15th burthday party of that group. Have you called any of the LLL people?
Not moved yet - hoping for thursday - butI'm stil going to go to meetings if poss.

AnnVan · 27/10/2008 13:17

I won't be able to make it this week, because my parents are coming down from Scotland to meet Sebastian, arriving tomorrow and leaving Sunday (DP not best pleased, but I don't care because I hardly ever get to see my family) Good luck with the moving, and when you think you'll be going to the meeting, let me know and I'll come and meet you. Hopefully by then I'll have sorted out his sleep to some extent, and cured him of his screaming problem.

Wisknit · 27/10/2008 13:33

sorted out his sleep? You think that happens til they are in their teens?

AnnVan · 03/11/2008 13:21

Suppose not really - and then they start going out all hours or staying up playing computer games! Finally made it down to Milk and Biscuits today though SO yes, if you are coming let me know and we can meet - I'll probably start going now that he has decided to sleep at night again hooray!

Wisknit · 12/11/2008 20:59

right, back online. We've moved finally. Not without drama though. I ended up in hopsital on the day so been forced to rest. I made the meeting on tuesday just gone - were you there? Next one is tuesday week at 20 Ridley road (I think). Maybe see you there, if we aren't ill/tired/generally too disorganised.

AnnVan · 13/11/2008 08:16

no I didn't make it - I think lo has had a bit of a bug and didn't want to spread it around.
Why did you end up in hospital?

Wisknit · 13/11/2008 08:49

Slight bleed. Not something that has happened in either of the other pregnancies so I was alittle worried. Think it was probably due to lots of packing, jumping up and and down on chairs, lifting heavy boxes etc. However not much else I could have done.

AnnVan · 13/11/2008 09:09

Ooh hope you're ok now though. How far along are you now? We moved when I was about 27 weeks pg (but already rather Biiig. Thankfully SIL, Bil and MIl's DP al helped with the moving so I didn't have to do too much.

Wisknit · 14/11/2008 10:47

all fine now thanks. I'll be 27 weeks on sunday so was 25 weeks when it happened. My help was my parents looking after the boys but wanted to do the packing myself. My mother is nosy.
Luckily I'm not massive - although bigger than in previous pregnancies but 3 in 3 years has probably stretched things somewhat!

AnnVan · 14/11/2008 13:13

Three in three years! Just had one, and not even thinking about another yet!!

Wisknit · 14/11/2008 17:50

Really wasn't planned that way!

AnnVan · 20/11/2008 09:20

Suddenly worried I might also end up with close together kids, if DP and I don't get our act together re contraception
