Hi
My name is Jan and I have a 5 month old dd - just extended my maternity leave for another 3 months (hurray!) - anyone fancy meeting for a coffee in Stoke Newington one afternoon?

I agree bumptobabies - I'd like to live back at Stokey too! I actually live in lower clapton now but it's only a short bus journey up there or I walk.

Booklover · 09/06/2005 09:52

Thank you gossifer, you should be an estate agent (and I mean that in a nice way), certainly convinced me. Will have a look at some properties at the weekend, might have to move out a bit further though as it is still quite expensive but might join you for a coffee soon!

janx · 09/06/2005 13:28

Must get broadband - got phone bill recently and am obviously spending some much time on internet!!! Anyone recommend a service - so many to chose from? Isn't the weather lovely? just had a nice picnic in springfield park...shall we meet next week? I am fairly free except friday xx

Hi everyone, I am NOT enjoying the sunshine due to hayfever, a back problem and a deadline! Just wondering who's going to the Stoke Newington Festival this weekend? My friend's partner's band is playing at 5pm, they are called Bikini Beach, so that's where I'll be!

Arabica · 09/06/2005 14:04

JanX, I haven't had any probs with btinternet broadband. I don't know if they're the cheapest, but they do seem very reliable.

janx · 09/06/2005 14:16

oooooooh Arabica I love bikini beach band!! Saw them a couple of years ago and have since discovered my friend knows them. We have been invited to lunch on Sunday, so not sure we can make it . Hope your back gets better and thanks for broadband tip

what time does the festival start and whats on?

wendymb · 09/06/2005 20:39

Hi all I am based in Tottenham and I understand I cn walk along the canal path to Springfield Park, before I embark on the trip what is there? Also do you have any idea how long it takes?

If any other N17 mothers reading went to a nice Drum and Babies group in Welbourne Primary School, Thursday 1-2pm 0-18mths, 2-3pm 18mth to 4years, it is free!!
Cheers

gossifer · 09/06/2005 21:41

hello wendy! where is welbourne primary school? sounds good
i've never done the walk along the canal but springfield park has a lovely, v.child friendly cafe with big garden, there's a pond and then you walk down a hill to the canal, on the other side of the canal is a nature reserve and the hackney marshes which is wild, almosy feels like you're in the country!
hope you all have a lovely weekend at the festival - lets arrange something, the farm perhaps for next week? xxxxx

bumptobabies · 10/06/2005 08:05

Hiya Dinosaur! I am fine apart from bad back etc (see below) Church St's probably only being closed to traffic for the parade at the beginning of the festival--the main part of the festival is in the park.

wendymb · 10/06/2005 22:16

Bumpto babies
I have gone to the 1st hour 1-2pm, I think in needs a few more and it would be better.

Gossifer Welbourne is N15 near Tottenham Hale Tube.

Cheers

OP posts:
gossifer · 15/06/2005 12:11

hello all! so sorry to hear about the teeth probs, i think leon might be joining the teething brigade
we've been up all night with him with a cold and i think pain from his first tooth
anyways - we must meet next week, so how about friday so that janx is back and zammo can make it? if its sunny what about a mini picnic in the park ( springfield)? xxx

zammo · 15/06/2005 12:18

Hello gossifer! That sounds like a great idea. Count me in.
Poor Leon - hope he has a better night tonight (and you). xx

janx · 15/06/2005 13:14

Good idea - we love picnics
Poor leon and you - thankfully Frida has only had one bad cold but they get so congested - have you tried propping him up a bit in bed?- I put my bf pillow under her sheet so she was slightly raised and it helped her breathing - also put a drop of olbus oil (not sure how you spell it) on a tissue near him, but out of reach so he can breath it in - smells lovely
Zammo - on the broadband front - how many megabytes is that on virgin?

OP posts:
zammo · 15/06/2005 14:12

janx - on virgin's plan 3 (which I think I'll try) it's 3GB monthly download and 512 Kbps. It's £14.99 (not £15.99 as I wrote before).
Have a lovely time in Devon!
