HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU

Now that we've more or less survived the festive season how about reviving our meet-ups for 2005?

I'm a bit busy next week and the week after with dr. appointments and school interviews for dd, but then my diary is pretty bleak and empty.

So who would like to do what and when

OP posts:
MrsBigD · 01/03/2005 12:48

Slink - MIL coming back that day? ;)

Slink · 01/03/2005 14:38

No No please god no not yet.............. No i am going for a pamper afternoon while dh looks after dd. New gym has opened at Southall college so dh has booked me in there.... bless ( i think it's coz i just had my period and he knows i was feeling down..)

MrsBigD · 01/03/2005 14:52

oh how lovely!
gotta laugh tough at your MIL panic. Is it viable to move somewhere without her???

Slink · 01/03/2005 17:48

MMMMMMMMMMMMMM dO YOU WANT TO START A ROW IN MY HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No it is not due to culture dh has thr responsibility of looking after his mother, and over the last 11YEARS i have grown to see has as if she was not there.. if you know what i mean, she is lovely but you know it has been lovely having just the three of us being a normal if you like, we tend to tip toe around her coz of her mental health anythig can start her off.

MrsBigD · 02/03/2005 06:53

Slink - I hadnt realised there were health issues
My mum keeps hinting that she'd love to be closer to her grandchildren, i.e. possibly moving to London... and that's too close iykwim... not to mention having her live with us! I admire your composure!

Slink · 02/03/2005 08:46

Inside you have no idea what goes on hey ho she can't live for ever.............can she. I don't mean to be nasty she is a lovely woman but demanding.

So what are you up to today ladies??? i am 500 words short on my essay so i will be finding them today, then off to dance class with dd.. care to join me?? 1.15pm at well being centre in greenford

MrsBigD · 02/03/2005 09:16

dance class? Free for anybody to attend without booking?

What's the essay on? I'm good a writing blurb without saying much but it pads out the word number

Slink · 02/03/2005 10:30

1st essay: can paretns be responsibile for childresn behaviour (nearly done this one)
2nd essay: define and discuss two examples of beahvioural/mental disorders that manifest in early child hood. i have chosses ADHD and Anxiety Disorders, (just 500 words short)

Dance class is £4.00 for your dd free for ds
I am looking at a class to get dd into off to the YMCA later today coz need to return very overdue books.

MrsBigD · 02/03/2005 11:00

Might join you for the dancing next time. Having a bit of a low day and will be lucky to muster the strength just to drag the 3 of us to the post office...

can paretns be responsibile for children - that's a tough one as it's YES

ADHD : maybe you can pad that one with blurp on the fact that a lot of people class kids suffering from ADHD only because they're a bit lively... my dd for example is frequently being called hyperactive, but I'm sure she's just VERY lively

jane313 · 02/03/2005 11:45

Whats the wellbeing centre like? I saw in ealing library that they do toddler groups, arts and music classes and I keep meaning to try them. i didn't know they did dance too

Slink · 02/03/2005 11:55

jane 313 yep they do monday's wednesdays and friday's too i think. for different ages.

It's really good just lots of children having fun playing intruments etc... you don't have to stay (although i do as i use it as a work out) just don't go if you have a head ach. Might see you there one day

jane313 · 02/03/2005 12:02

Thanks slink. I must try as I get bored to going to the same groups (I have a shorter attentionspan than most toddlers)

Slink · 02/03/2005 12:44

Let me know when your going maybe we can meet up. DD and i are going today if you want to join us??? sometimes you need to book it gets busy during school hols.

yingers74 · 02/03/2005 12:59

I have tried to get dd into a class at YMCA but they book up so fast! Can't wait until the summer, so we can just meet in the park!

survivour · 02/03/2005 13:06

MrsBigD · 02/03/2005 13:26

survivour · 02/03/2005 13:44

Slink · 02/03/2005 18:07

MrsBigD · 02/03/2005 18:22

I am going to enjoy it but I'd rather go with dh

Slink · 02/03/2005 19:08

To be so nosey why aren't you??

MrsBigD · 02/03/2005 19:20

because my dm requested that she would like to see it when she's over and for the sake of one less dig from dm... also it's her first day here so wouldn't be able to inflict her on the kids just yet. It's bad enough that I'll have to 'park' them with her for 4h on 9th as I've got a 2h interview in the city for a possible job. Wonder who'll be in more hysterics when I get back home... her or the kids
