I'm just over the border in Cheltenham, any chance I could come too?? [smiling nicely emotion, but not wanting to look too needy]

There never seems to be any action in this neck of the woods, and I'm affraid I'm not brave enough to innitiate a meet up myself.

HonorMatopoeia · 20/04/2008 16:10

It would be lovely to meet you currantbunmum. I used to live in Cheltenham and I really miss it now - you can help me relive my past life!

currantbunmum · 20/04/2008 20:25

Ooh, I'm looking forward to meeting all of you, thanks for being so welcoming!

Could I order the goats cheese and roasted vegies?

I'm going to go and look at some profiles now so I know who to look out for when I get there.

Not sure how many of us have photos! We'll be looking out for you. The table is usually booked under the name "Mumsnet", although last time, they had misheard, and it was called "Mumfnet"

Slouchy · 21/04/2008 14:33

Hi Currantbunmum - won't be at this meetup, but wanted to say hello. We often go to the temple of Waitrose in Cheltenham, and BIL is living in Chelt at the moment.

Furball · 22/04/2008 13:14

If we go out for lunch at the weekend - we quite often end up at waitrose in Cheltenham.

OP posts:
cmotdibbler · 22/04/2008 13:25

We were there on Sunday - Dh decided to get Chilli for DS (not quite 2), and in fact he guzzled it down.
We're still failing to go out and find nice places to eat on a Sunday lunchtime - we only seem to go there (kills two birds with one stone), or Frankie and Bennys at Evesham.
Any suggestions for good places to go ?

Furball · 22/04/2008 13:29

the thing with waitrose is you don't have to book, so just turn up when hungry and theres usually always a table

OP posts:
currantbunmum · 22/04/2008 18:57

I must know lots of you by sight as we spend more time than is strictly necessary in Waitrose, like you say it has everything you need under one roof, with the added benefit of the staff being really helpful.

DD1 (5) made one of the school governors laugh recently, when asked, "where do you shop?" to which she replied "Waitrose, is there anywhere else?"

I must add in her defence, it is the only place we take them shopping, as Sainsburys delivers the rest of the groceries whilst she's at school.

cmotdibbler · 22/04/2008 19:26

I'm the tall one with the big husband, and a loud chatty toddler who sits in the cafe flirting with all the girls whilst piling in whatever food is on offer. I like the fact they do gluten free cakes too.

The staff are lovely, but at the weekends they can be a bit 'Tim nice but dim'.

LOL at your DD - my DH feels much the same, and we get our stuff delivered by Ocado. He says that he's in recovery after years of not living in a Waitrose area/not being able to afford to shop there.

Furball · 24/04/2008 15:50

come on folks - choose your grub
