Just a little idea, I would be up for it (obviously).... anyone else?

I'll look at a map and try and work out a convenient location for us all, obviously any ideas would be welcome. For ease it may be good if anyone is willing to put another MNer up for the night they could mention it in their post

JP you know I'll be up for it.

Half way would possible be Notts, Derby or even Sheffield, depends on how far the furtherest would have to travel

I'm sure we could find a hotel that has a restaurant attached and maybe those of us who know each other could share a room if we wanted to stop.

I always attend the Derby meet ups with Hula, Wegdiesmum, Easy etc.

RonnieTinselBaby · 07/12/2004 13:36

Hulababy · 07/12/2004 20:32

So, any ideas of when and where?

WedgiesMum · 07/12/2004 21:59

Sounds good to me. Can offer bed for night for a couple of people, possibly 3. Can also pick people up as necessary.

Yorkiegirl · 07/12/2004 22:00

Have you got any suggestions for locations WM?

hollyandlavenderwreath · 07/12/2004 22:04

sounds good...youth hostel idea is good btw although think you have to be in at 11pm?..

WedgiesMum · 07/12/2004 22:06

Will have a think, but it does depend on location. If it's Sheffield, we could think about the spa followed by a meal?? There are some very nice Country pubs near here Grin, but that's just me being selfish!

If we decide on a location then we can get more specific!!!

WedgiesMum · 07/12/2004 22:08

But would think that so far Derby, Nottingham or Sheffield are top favourites (good train connections for all of them)

ChrisseyMas · 08/12/2004 09:34

hi yes a choice of those 3 locations sounds ok

FeastofStevenmom · 08/12/2004 09:43

would prefer Nottingham or Sheffield to Derby
(better train connections from M/cr and Liverpool)

Hulababy · 08/12/2004 12:28

I am happy with either of those seections, although Sheffield and Derby would be my top two choices.

GingerBells · 08/12/2004 12:35

jamiesmam, I am not near Nottingham, it was a suggestion. I would probably have to stay overnight.

jamiesam · 08/12/2004 13:10

Ginger
Sorry.
Dreams of massive house party go out of the window then!
Highly recommend the Spa in Sheffield - smallish, but very nice, and cheap too (£15) and if we ask nicely, I bet Hula could do a link??
On the other hand, never been to Derby, and not been to Nottingham for - blimey, 26 years! And I wasn't a babe in arms then!

ChrisseyMas · 08/12/2004 13:16

hi ladies

maybe best to put it to a vote once we have seen suggestions of places for these locations

how are u all day ?

Roisin · 08/12/2004 16:02

Maybe maybe - depends on location and date of course! (I'm not Yorkshire or Midlands though!)

I agree that Derby is more difficult for transport links than Sheffield or Nottingham.

Are we talking about an adults-only event, or with kids?!

Frizbe · 08/12/2004 20:20

Ah sorry, Ripley Derbyshire, not Yorkshire! same as Fairydust

RonnieTinselBaby · 08/12/2004 20:21

I will prob have to drive, as bump(Roo) will poss only be about 3-4 months old and prob be BF, but any of the places are ok with me, Nottingham (Derby) is easy for me to get to and from, Sheffield is a little further, but not difficult.

I'll see what the concensus is.

Hulababy · 08/12/2004 20:24

\link{http://www.spa1877.com/enter_site.html\Spa 1877} in Sheffield

Loads of places to eat in centre, walking distance from the Spa.

Spa is easy to get to by car (two car parks near to Spa) and by public transport (buses and trams go past it, and tram stops next to station in town and also from Meadowhall)

Restaurants close by include Italian, Mexican/South American, Noodle Bar, Tapas, ... you name it really. Oh, and Revolution (home of the vodkas!) is 2 minute walk from Spa.

Can't offer accomadation at my place - as so small! But there are lots of places to stay in centre. Think the Ibis is about £40 a night for twin room.

Hulababy · 08/12/2004 20:25

You do realise I should have moved by then and it won't be just on my dorrstep - so may even have to drive, even if it was Sheffield!

RonnieTinselBaby · 08/12/2004 20:30

Oh I thought we were going for a night out, not a day out.

Thats changes things

Hulababy · 08/12/2004 20:31

I think it is just an evening out really RB. Just someone asked me to post about Spa incase. A few of us went or a couple of hours last time we met in Sheffield.

Frizbe · 08/12/2004 20:31

If it's a day out how about Chatsworth? Farm and play area?

RonnieTinselBaby · 08/12/2004 20:32

Oh right. Cheers Hula.

Frisbee I think as normal we are talking about NO kids

RonnieTinselBaby · 08/12/2004 20:32

Soz for the incorrect spelling Frizbe
