Just a little idea, I would be up for it (obviously).... anyone else?

I'll look at a map and try and work out a convenient location for us all, obviously any ideas would be welcome. For ease it may be good if anyone is willing to put another MNer up for the night they could mention it in their post

Weekends are fine by me

At the Spa I linked to (for non pg people anyway) there are 7 different rooms in the Spa.

Aromasteam
A hot steam room, but quite a nice temperature! Literally clear your head in our aromasteam room where a range of essential oils, such as eucalyptus and peppermint, is used to improve breathing as well as refreshing the spirit and promoting clarity of mind.

Hammam
This is the bit in the middle of all the other rooms for just relacing and chatting. A Hammam is a soft and relaxing heat, unlike the intensity of a sauna and celebrates the ritual of cleansing and relaxation. Many of the original Victorian design features including beautifully glazed brick walls and mosaic floors have been retained and restored. As you sit on heated granite benches, you can feel the stress and strain of everyday life dissappear.

Steam
Has variable heat. Coolest near the door, but gets hotter further in you go. Got very hot! Relax and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of steam. Steam baths ease stress, relieve muscle tensions and stiff joints, boost the immune system, stimulate circulation, increase body metabolism, remove toxins from the body and deep-cleanse the skin.

Sauna
Dry heat and hot! Fans of the dry heat bath report feelings of peace and contentment as well as physical rejuvenation. Exposure to high heat causes sweating, stimulating the body?s immune system to fight minor illness. It increases circulation to revive tired muscles, detoxify and cleanse the skin.

Plunge Pool
OMG!!!! It was like needles sticking in you, Highest temp here is about 7 degrees. COLD!!! There is nothing more invigorating and stimulating than a dip in the plunge pool. Bathing in cold water supercharges the system, improves breathing and muscle tone and reduces fatigue. In addition cold water is also known to stimulate the release of endorphins to give you that feel-good factor.

Ice cave
Strangly quite nice! Grab handfuls of crushed ice and rub it on your body. Feels quite nice 0 until a tiny bit of ice slithers down your cossie!!! Get that tingle factor as you chill out in the ice cave. Rub ice crystals onto your skin for an exfoliating experience that will really get the circulation going! For people with aching or injured muscles, holding ice on the affected area decreases blood flow to provide immediate pain relief and reduce swelling.

Experience Shower
Forgot to try this! This amazing, multi-colour tropical rain shower is guaranteed to refresh and exhilarate after coming out of the steam rooms or sauna. Choose one of the three settings: a five-jet ?needle? shower, power jet or cold blast. As you are blasted by the water, the colours in the room change to give you an unforgettable shower experience.

There is also a relaxing room just outside the Hamman. You get complimentary hot drinks, juices or water in hear. Newspapaers and magazines to read. Chairs and tables for relaxing and gossiping really.

Hulababy · 14/12/2004 20:45

Oh, and you wear cossies. And they give you flip flops and a robe to wear too. Mind you, there are no cubicles in changing room from what I remember???

Hulababy · 14/12/2004 20:48

Alternatively you can book various massages and treatments too.

WigWamBam · 14/12/2004 21:22

Crikey, even with a cossie on I think I'll still need to issue blindfolds! And don't tell anyone but I won't fit into their robes ...

saintlysecur · 14/12/2004 21:38

I am sure none of us will mind

and anyone who does can gfriguthdhauh

Hulababy · 14/12/2004 21:39

And you could always bring your own robe if you wanted to.

WigWamBam · 14/12/2004 22:37

That's OK ... I'll be careful not to put anyone off their food, anyway!

Getting there slowly.

I unfortunately would have to cry off from Jan & Feb, as my bump (Roo) will be 1 or 2 months old, and cant see me leaving a BF'ing baby that long.

For me March would be the nearest or at least closest month, even then I'd be pushing it a bit.

I like you Secur have no social life, so fridays or saturdays or any day of the week come to that are free for me .

I'll be a provisional recruit when its decided I'll be able to say yeh or nay once (Roo) arrives will have more of an idea.

cranberryjampot · 14/12/2004 23:16

Well I can do Sat 20th March or Sat 17th April if its any good to anyone

OP posts:
cranberryjampot · 15/12/2004 07:26

obviously I am joking I am, like most, pretty clear for the whole of next year with the exception of a few birthday/anniversaries getting in the way

santaclary · 15/12/2004 17:31

hey girls now i realise we are talkign a logn-ish thing it will clearly need to be a weekend (sorry, was thinking we meant evening). In which case i can arrange babysitter (gran) to come over so any saturday pretty much is fine.

saintlysecur · 15/12/2004 18:58

that's good, didn't like the idea of cutting anyone out this early in the plans

roisin · 15/12/2004 19:38

Have you all honestly got clear diaries?

I definitely can't do 22/23 Jan - some other dates more tricky than others!

5/6 March is Mother's Day, so I'd have thought we want to avoid that one. (If lots of people are staying over I mean, as most of us would want to be home for Mother's Day).

26/27 March is Easter - lots of people away, probably best avoided? (This may apply to the weekend before and after as well, as this is during school holidays for most LEAs.)

What about half term holiday? Do we need to avoid that as well?

Crikey - this is before I've even consulted with dh or his diary!

WigWamBam · 15/12/2004 19:48

We all have sadly woeful social lives

saintlysecur · 15/12/2004 21:03

either that or we are so desperate for a day out alone we will put anything else on hold

Yorkiegirl · 15/12/2004 21:09

Message withdrawn

Petesmum · 16/12/2004 09:07

OK so I hadn't considered things like Mothers Day - even if it is the day after my birthday. Doh! Too keen to get a day away planned You're right though there are some days we need to avoid. Perhaps Jan or early Feb would be the best then ?

jnbsmum · 16/12/2004 18:57

Sounds like a nice idea this. Have added myself but like some others once date is confirmed will say yes or no.

RonnieTinselBaby · 16/12/2004 20:49

I just thought Jan would be too soon after xmas, as people are paid well before xmas and have to stretch their money 5+ weeks, then we have Valentines day too.

If Jan or Feb count me out, March is a possibility. April or May are fine with me, (hopefully).

I'll keep checking this, but with imminent arrival due wont be on as much.

If I dont make it, hope you all have fun.

cranberryjampot · 16/12/2004 21:10

Jan & Feb are too close for me too. March we have too much on, DD's bday, Mothers day, my wedding anniversary etc. April or May are better for me too.

OP posts:
Hulababy · 16/12/2004 21:12

I can't do first weekend in April as it is DD's birthday.

roisin · 16/12/2004 21:34

April/May are quite tricky for me, but a few dates are possible.

How about 23 April?!

saintlysecur · 17/12/2004 09:29

Oh yes, can't do 15/16 as it is ds's birthday
