Welcome to our new home Berrie, Zebedeedoodah, Oggsfrog and Binkleandflip.
Hope you all find your way here.

OP posts:
Zebedeedoodah · 13/12/2007 10:16

All my best affairs lasted about a month. That's when the boredom and the reality sink in, and you realise that the gorgeous stud is dull as ditchwater

LyraSilvertinsel · 13/12/2007 10:17

Could they have picked a worse picture of him?

HollyBerrie · 13/12/2007 10:18

I've never had a gorgeous stud....

HollyBerrie · 13/12/2007 10:18

I've never had a minging stud....

LyraSilvertinsel · 13/12/2007 10:18

Another bad pic

HollyBerrie · 13/12/2007 10:19

I'm the closest to the virgin blimmin' Mary you'll ever meet...

Zebedeedoodah · 13/12/2007 10:24

This was all many years ago, in the dim and distant past of my mis-spent youth (when I was slim and gorgeous!).
Now I'm up there with you as a born again virgin mary, but at least I have my memories.......

HollyBerrie · 13/12/2007 10:28

Never been slim and gorgeous either...

LyraSilvertinsel · 13/12/2007 10:28

We've just had our planning application for an extension refused
I'm so sick of living in a tiny house with a downstairs bathroom.

HollyBerrie · 13/12/2007 10:28

I've got a real bag on now

binklebells · 13/12/2007 10:30

Hi I'm popping in but no stopping as I have lovely weeping ears which I'm taking off to the doctors at 11.

But for today just wanted to add:

1/ That pic is the same on that was in Heat - not good at all
2/ DVO and Lee - I'm almost of a mind not to bloody go and see him now - am very perturbed by this 'unexpected' development -( that bloody man devourer had her eye on him from the very start!! FUME!!!!!) - everytime I try to catch up with my fantasy her sodding face keeps getting superimposed over mine!!

Am off now to restuff my ears with fresh cotton wool sniffle.....

binklebells · 13/12/2007 10:31

p.s. Sorry about the application Lyra

HollyBerrie · 13/12/2007 10:39

Oh bum Lyra...on what grounds?

Zebedeedoodah · 13/12/2007 10:40

Lyra - you need to find the right person on the planning committee to either bribe or blackmail. Come on, between you and your OH, surely you can dig some dirt on them that they wouldn't like coming to light. Well, I think that's how work in this neck of the woods given some of the attrocities that get built.

And I'm trying to blank out the blonde one from our little scenario, Binkle.

Anyone heard from Oggs? I hope she's ok.

HollyBerrie · 13/12/2007 10:45

Poor Binkle

HollyBerrie · 13/12/2007 10:46

Be honest..do you think my letter sending to Oggs was a bit OTT. Do you think I put her off us by being a bit scary?

LyraSilvertinsel · 13/12/2007 10:46

Our miserable po-faced neighbours objected that it would block light from their bedroom (not true) and reduce their privacy in their garden (partly true).
The decision was made by a planning officer, it didn't even go to committee. I think they'll probably allow it if we resubmit the application for a smaller extension but that means losing the third bedroom that I'd promisd DS2 he would have

LyraSilvertinsel · 13/12/2007 10:49

No, it wasn't scary or OTT. It was unusual for her to disappear and we were naturally concerned. Now she's doing it all the time we know the chances are she's fine (still miss you though Oggs).

HollyBerrie · 13/12/2007 10:52

Oh dear...poor ds.

Zebedeedoodah · 13/12/2007 11:28

Lyra, I think you can appeal. I'm not certain about the 'law of light' but I'd look into that if I were you. Also, loss of privacy, I don't believe is a good enough reason to reject a planning app - is it to fill in the side return, which is pretty bog standard in your part of the world? Anyway, I'd check it all out if I were you. Good luck!

LyraSilvertinsel · 13/12/2007 11:56

It doesn't seem fair that one man gets to make this decision. If we'd got a different planning officer we may have had a different result.

Zebedeedoodah · 13/12/2007 12:11

Is this a definite no? Seriously, I'd appeal, or at least threaten to appeal if at all possible, as councils hate the prospect of expense. The best way forward is to get hold of the official written decision and take it to a planning consultant who is very well versed in your council's processes. They can then tell you if you have grounds.
Oops, I'm banging on, but I hate planning departments, planning committees and most of all, jumped up planning officers... nearly as much as DvO

LyraSilvertinsel · 13/12/2007 12:39

Do you know how long an appeal takes? It's taken 6 months just to get to this stage (bloody architect was very slow). They do let you resubmit your application for no extra charge so that might be the best way to go (the smaller extension) if we want to get it built before the boys leave home.
According to DP there's a bill going through Parliament at the moment which will relax all the planning laws. I'll see if I can find some info...

binklebells · 13/12/2007 13:31

Perferated Ear Drum!!!

BLOODY PERFERATED EAR DRUM!!!

Just been to docs and apparently my left ear has a tear in the timpanic membrane and my right ear isnt too far off either.

That Take That concert is going to sound just great through an inch of cotton wool isnt it?? {insert your own witty repartee here )

Zebedeedoodah · 13/12/2007 14:02

Poor Binkle, that sounds terrible.....you could always flog the Take That ticket for a small fortune! Lyra - that demonstrates that why I hate planning so much
