Welcome to our new home Berrie, Zebedeedoodah, Oggsfrog and Binkleandflip.
Hope you all find your way here.

OP posts:
Berrie · 12/11/2007 14:48

I think that you should all go on an extra eating diet so that I don't feel like the fat friend.
I'm going to dig out Oggs address...goodness knows where I wrote it down...

Berrie · 12/11/2007 14:51

Maybe Oggs customised her Mumsnet and can't see us any more...

binkleandflip · 12/11/2007 14:53

Do you think we should put a thread out just FAOing Oggs?

No, I'm sure she would come looking for us without that. Perhaps she has gone on hols?

LyraSilvertongue · 12/11/2007 16:26

I don't think it's that she can't find us, and we've all emailed her and got no reply so her connection must be dow.

OP posts:
Berrie · 12/11/2007 16:29

I think Lyra's right.

binkleandflip · 12/11/2007 16:45

yes, I'm sure that's it then. Have just been watching some ADWD clips on YouTube (I'm sure I used to have a life once ) and feel very, very Lee-luvd-up! MIL picked Dd up from school and you know what they say 'the devil makes work for idle hands' well, he seems to direct me straight onto the web at any given opportunity - I really am going to limit myself because I'll never end up getting my business at this rate and it would infringe on my MNing etc too much!

Zebedeedoodah · 12/11/2007 16:51

7pm on Friday night Binkle, he's opening Children in Need. I'm betting you can't go cold turkey for that long

Berrie, I'm so sorry. It sounds like a tough day, even without the hideous Ikea. How about an early night snuggling under the duvet with cocoa and a good trashy novel? Well...it works for me anyway. Big hugs, off to try emailing Oggs as well to see if I have any luck.

And I've got my spanx now, so does that mean I don't need to lay off the biccies?

binkleandflip · 12/11/2007 16:52

no, if anything eat more so you get your moneys worth

Berrie · 12/11/2007 18:54

Aw thanks you lot.
Oggs hasn't been on here since the 24th of October which is much longer than usual isn't it.
Right. Bubbs to bed now I think, tis well past bedtime. We went to Tesco to show dh the moving noise making big toy horse. (£300) Dd loved it but Ds was terrified. Anyway, when we got there it had been wrecked apparantly and put out of reach.

binkleandflip · 12/11/2007 19:30

was that Buttercup? think that's the one dd put on her xmas list....nothing like thinking big is there

Berrie · 12/11/2007 20:38

Don't know, probably...it went munch munch on a plastic carrot

binkleandflip · 13/11/2007 13:50

Afternoon all, how is everyone today?

Had a bit of a shaky day - mum has been for consultant appt and she said the consultant took her hand as if bracing her for bad news and then went on to say he was giving her herceptin (which I know is in high demand so she is very lucky) from now on. He said the only downside is that it can cause heart problems - it is like lurching from one terrifying problem to the next - a drug to help ease the pain and suffering caused by the cancer which could damage your heart - and at 70 that is a scary thought. When people say it is a rollercoaster it really is.

I know, that is life and all, but sometimes its hard to pretend everything is fine you know what I mean?

Berrie · 13/11/2007 14:12

Oh Binkle, I'm sorry. You do a good job of pretending things are fine. It must be hard to be in a supportive role when you need support over it yourself. Have you got people to look out for you?

binkleandflip · 13/11/2007 14:19

yes I have thankfully and I tend to play it down to them tbh because I suppose I am getting the 'denial' part of the griefing process in good and early in a way. I have to work quite hard to concentrate on the fact that mum is here today and to be thankful for that and there is nothing I can do about the future except take it as it comes. I am very good at talking others up (including mum) and convince myself most of the time too that as long as she feels ok on a day to day basis then nothing really bad is going on but I have the odd off day when it all washes over me a bit.

TBH, you lot are a great distraction, I really feel like I have friends on here...am getting a bit teary now!! I'm on my first period since the MC too so that probably explains a lot.

Ignore me please until normal service is resumed!!

Berrie · 13/11/2007 14:49

Big hugs to you Binkle. Berrie passes a mug of tea and a plate of her new patented warm fat and calorie free double chocolate chip cookies with chocolate gooey stuff in the middle. (which incidentally are going to make me a millionaire so that I'll treat us to a week on my large boat in the med...no the caribbean with Lee and his 4 lovely lookalikey brothers)

Do you really want to be ignored?

binkleandflip · 13/11/2007 14:59

It might just be me but I keep noticing blokes with curly black hair more now - you know that way when you get a new car then start seeing the same model everywhere though you didnt notice it before

I wish he did have 4 lookelikey brothers - that would be quite something to behold oh yes!

Thanks for the biscuits are they actually real or just virtual? You will have to bring a batch in january!!

Erm, no, not ignored I suppose, just not indulged I guess because it makes it a bit more real IYKWIM?

binkleandflip · 13/11/2007 15:00

thanks for hugs tho Berrie, you can never have to many of those i guess

Zebedeedoodah · 13/11/2007 15:05

Here's a big hug Binkle. I think you're doing amazingly well, and we're always here as shoulders for you when you need it - that's what friends are for. And I'm sure your DH is giving you lots of supporting cuddles too.

I'm even going to give you my Thornton's chocolate truffle bar which I was saving to scoff later. Perfect with the enormous mug of charbonnel & walker hot choccy I'm making for you. (until Berrie gets us to her yacht anyway)

Zebedeedoodah · 13/11/2007 15:06

Binkle - you're soooooo right about black curly haired guys.

Berrie · 13/11/2007 15:07

Er...no. I cannot tell a lie.
I never see any blokes. Unless they are on cbeebies or at the co-op and dh is about as far away from Lee in the hair dept. as you can get

binkleandflip · 13/11/2007 15:10

same her with my dh, he isnt very hirsute up there any more at all. Annoyingly, he apparently used to have quite a head of black curly hair back in the 80's/early 90's - Borat style so I am told so probably for the best that it slunk off his head some time ago lol

Berrie · 13/11/2007 15:10

I've always been drawn to dark men with lots of hair. Rupert Everett in Another Country was on my wall as a schoolgirl.
How did I end up with only one man with blonde and then no hair?

binkleandflip · 13/11/2007 15:11

because you couldnt have Rupert so felt compelled to go for the polar opposite

binkleandflip · 13/11/2007 15:12

thanks for the truffle bar Zeb, have not had one of those in a far too long time!

Berrie · 13/11/2007 15:13

Mmmm, he was just the first reasonable bloke to ask me out...
