Oggs you have a talent for names! How is your hair?

I see you have all chosen to let my impending take that viewing pass without comment which kind of answers my query re: sad or fab

Is it too soon to start a countdown to London trip??

binklebells · 05/12/2007 16:01

Oh and thanks HollyB for the advent - I'm really after a penguin on a sledge though if you can sort it

LyraSilvertongue · 05/12/2007 17:08

Thanks for the efforts laydees but I think I'll pass. Looks like it's tinsel for me after all.
As for Take That, I know a couple of people who are going and they're not sad. Does that make you feel any better?
I'm going to the Kaiser Chiefs next Friday but I'm regretting it. I'm out on the Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and it's a bit much. I thought oh I'll just sell them on eBay but they're going for half face value at the moment.

Did you get your flight sorted Oggs?

HollyBerrie · 05/12/2007 20:52

Binkle, I'll see what I can do!

LyraSilvertinsel · 05/12/2007 20:58

Thanks Oggs, but I'll stick with what I've got.

binklebells · 05/12/2007 22:49

hmm, have just put the spare take that ticket on ebay at face value (£45.00) as one of our friends had to drop out so am hoping at least to get that back but it's flooded with tickets at the minute and the 'successful' buyer would have to contend with sitting on their own next to us which might no be their idea of a great night

p.s. I like LyraSilverTinsel!!

HollyBerrie · 06/12/2007 08:11

Door 6 for Binkle

eggnoggsfrog · 06/12/2007 08:42

No Berrie, not booked flight yet. Do now have in my purse 4 photographs that would frighten a child . In fact I'm considering getting them done again.

Good luck with the Take That ticket on ebay Binkle - there are rather a lot for sale aren't there? Go on, who was/is your favourite?

binklebells · 06/12/2007 09:15

Berrie, you are my hero! That little fella has really brightened my morning!!

Now, favourite thatter would have to be....probably Mark - I think he has weathered the best. I never did like Robbie he is just too smarmy so am glad he isnt joining them.

What can I say? I am clearly regressing to teenage status - although at least take that are a bit closer to my age so it doesnt feel as grubby ( ) as my fawning over lovely Lee (he and his brown shirt have been sadly absent from our screens this week I see unless my Leedar is faltering....)

binklebells · 06/12/2007 09:18

Can we make up a new game "CHALLENGE BERRIE" - where we give you obscure suggestions for advent doors and you surpass it completely (as you have today ) Think 'penguin on a sledge' was slightly underestimating your talents Berrie - though it is a lovely example

So, what about....squirrel on a bauble????

LyraSilvertinsel · 06/12/2007 09:39

I'd like to see a polar bear standing atop a Christmas pudding. Go on Berrie, do your stuff

HollyBerrie · 06/12/2007 09:51

Mmmm, the squirrel bauble I might be able to arrange but the Pudding bear is beyond my powers although I could probably do a polar bear above a picture of a pudding

HollyBerrie · 06/12/2007 15:52

Wonder where Zeb is this week...

LyraSilvertinsel · 06/12/2007 21:54

Well, what a busy day. The boys had the Christmas party at Downing Street this evening and we've just got back. I picked DS1 up from school and we all came home to get into our party gear (DS2 decided it would be a good idea to go into the sooty fireplace just after I'd put his party clothes on him so quick change necessary there). Then we all headed up on the train to Waterloo and got a taxi to the Commons to meet DP, then a short walk to Downing Street. They took our coats and gave us drinks, then there was entertainment from a magician, followed by food. Then Ed Balls, Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families, came in dressed as Santa and gave all the children presents (the boys got Ben 10 watches). We got a glimpse of Gordon Brown as he and Sarah headed up to their apartment above number 11 (I think that's what they were doing, maybe they live at number 10 now) then there was a disco and a long taxi ride home and into bed. I'm knackered and so are the boys. Maybe they'll sleep in tomorrow morning . I'll post pics on my profile tomorrow if you're interested in seeing them.

eggnoggsfrog · 07/12/2007 06:58

Ooh, yes to the pics please. What a glamorous life you lead.

LyraSilvertinsel · 07/12/2007 13:42

Pics from the party are now on my profile.
Where is everyone today? What happened to door 7?

binklebells · 07/12/2007 14:25

Aw those pictures are fab Lyra, your ds's look like they had a great time!!

Are we bobbing in no 11 for tea and a biscuit on 30th then? or hows the date with Lee at the Ivy looking??

As oggs, says you are uberglam!! Want to swap lives and come to Blackpool for a week? I know I know, the illuminations have finished now but you can still catch Ken Dodd (or similiar) in panto at the Grand???

Let me know what you think

LyraSilvertinsel · 07/12/2007 14:36

I'm not uberglam, honest. My life is very ordinary with the occasional glamorous interlude.
DP hasn't mentioned the lee a tthe Ivy thing for a while. I'll bring it up again after Christmas.

binklebells · 07/12/2007 14:40

ahem.... 53 days to go... 53 days to go....

HollyBerrie · 07/12/2007 14:43

Tee Hee Lyra...now your dc will always have the pleasure of having sat on Ed Ball's knee as their claim to fame! What fun you must have had! I'm curious though. What do they hope to gain by entertaining your children and more to the point does it work?

Sorry about the lateness of door 7. We had an appointment at the hospital early this morning and have only just got back.
Good news. DD does not have a nut allergy. DS was not as allergic today as last time which is unusual and might mean nothing but might...might mean that he is one of the very few lucky ones who grow out of it. If the test gives this resut next year they might have him in and do a peanut challenge. They told us not to get our hopes up too much but we are excited all the same.

Right door 7...

binklebells · 07/12/2007 14:44

Good news about your ds Berrie

binklebells · 07/12/2007 14:44

Sorry, - DD !!
