Only when drunk...could only put skirt on when drunk...could never put spanx on when drunk...

binkleandflip · 18/11/2007 13:58

Have done another thread to ask for suggestions but does anyone here have any hints for a good detox programme. You know the 5 days ones you buy from Boots etc.

I'm a bit rundown at the mo and need rejuvenating

LyraSilvertongue · 18/11/2007 14:22

There was a news item on this a little while ago. Apparently they're not worth bothering with and a good multivitamin and plenty of water will do the same job.

Have any of you seen this site yet?

oggsfrog · 18/11/2007 14:40

Thanks Lyra.Did you take your dress back in the end?
Interview with Lee and his mum in The Sunday Times magazine. Aahh. They seem to be a really close family.
Berrie I need to see your skirt. Link please.
Binkle, who is Derek Acorah?
I'll warn you all now that I have no chance of pulling off sleek, slim or sophisticated

Berrie · 18/11/2007 16:53

Oh goody good...haven't got as far as the magazine yet!

Will look for link...

Berrie · 18/11/2007 17:01

It was one of these....don't laugh!
Took me and Dh back 20 years!

tee hee

Berrie · 18/11/2007 17:12

Thanks for that Oggs...good find!

Berrie · 18/11/2007 17:12

Not going down well with boogie beebies however...

Berrie · 18/11/2007 17:36

Eeek...I've just had a thought...I'm confident that I am safe with you all...but a psycho could be reading this and impersonate one of you and...and...psycho me!
I think we should make our arrangements to actually meet by e-mail. (Don't want Kanga turning up and pretending to be Lyra..."Hello Berrie, behold Lee's dressing room window!"

Berrie · 18/11/2007 20:26

Well...well done whoever at Strictly Come Dancing who made him sing Paint It Black instead of that silly song he has released. Did he have sweaty lips or lip gloss?

binkleandflip · 18/11/2007 20:30

Oh no have just realised I've missed it!! Was he good?

Oggs, Derek Acorah is a 'medium' - he used to be on Most Haunted which was programme where he and a gang of presenters went to haunted places and did seances and stuff (apologies if you already know all that)..he had charisma and was interesting to listen to - it was basically an audience with where you could put your hand up and ask a question as opposed to the usual "Is there a john/jim/jack in the room..?" medium type stuff.

If I link to a picture I'm sure you'lll recognise him:

LyraSilvertongue · 18/11/2007 21:18

Yes, he was good, but I thought this performance of Paint it Black was a bit sterile compared with the passion-filled spine-tingling ones he gave on ADWD.
Am I being too critical?
Berrie, are you serious about the skirt? You bought one?

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 18/11/2007 23:00

Did y'all listen to the preview snippets from the album? Make It With You sounds wonderful.

OP posts:
Berrie · 19/11/2007 07:01

Tee hee...I really did buy one of them I can't see me wearing it in public but DH wouldn't hear of me sending it back

You are right Lyra...he just seemed to be going through the motions, he seemed tired.

oggsfrog · 19/11/2007 07:19

Not been able to listen to any of the songs or watch more than about 20 secs of the video .

Berrie, which one?? Gawd, you can't have any weight problems if you can even contemplate wearing one of those . They're the sort of thing I would have worn about 22 years ago.
They remind me of a dress I had... a sort of midnight blue, strapless, lace up the back calf/ankle length dress overlaid with black lace. Tight fitting but frothy round the bottom (the bottom of the dress not my botttom ). I used to accessorise with backcombed fright hair, tons of black kohl, scarlet lipstick, black fishnets and spiky heeled pointy toed strappy/bondage/goth type black leather ankle boots Ah. Those were the days...

Binkle. Never heard of him or seen him sorry. Not really my thing .(He looks like a dodgy geezer/second hand car salesman )

oggsfrog · 19/11/2007 07:23

No offense Binkle, I'm sure he's a lovely bloke

Ah, Berrie a skirt for special occasions eh? [wink .
Which one? (which skirt, not which occasion )

Berrie · 19/11/2007 07:43

Tee hee...the black one with red ruffle...it's not so short as some of them and like you it's all about nostalgia for my goth days...don't know what came over me really

Berrie · 19/11/2007 07:47

Red rara tutu skirt...I see looking back at site...my word it does all look rather porno now looking with your eyes!

Very few 'special occasions' in this house Oggs

Berrie · 19/11/2007 07:51

I was doing an internet search looking for a full partyish skirt with a bit of net that were 10 a penny last year and the goth site came up. I was carried away with nostalgia and a few clicks later I'd bought it! (Berrie goes over the top with explanations lest she is disowned!)

LyraSilvertongue · 19/11/2007 09:04

So Berrie and oggs, you were both goths? I have to admit to going through a goth phase myself. I wish i could get away with wearing that gear now. I don't think my 20 eyelet DMs would go down too well a the school gates now...

OP posts:
binkleandflip · 19/11/2007 09:06

I actually quite like the red ra-ra and bllue ra-ra, would love to be someone like j-lo who can carry that kind of stuff off in her late 30's

binkleandflip · 19/11/2007 09:09

I wasnt a goth - I had no such confidence to carry that off and just went down the usual unimaginative route of big hair, shoulder pads, lashings of lip gloss and lycra!

Berrie · 19/11/2007 09:19

Binkle, are you suggesting that I can't carry it off?
