Ta daaaa.
Welcome to our new home .

OP posts:
Berrie · 05/11/2007 13:13

Mmmmm, the Mirror online does not have a very prominent political section does it...

Zebedeedoodah · 05/11/2007 13:14

Errrm, I don't think I've ever knowingly read the Mirror!
'highly unlikely' eh? These are the crumbs we have to be satisfied with, I guess.

Berrie · 05/11/2007 13:21

Can't find him anywhere Lyra...

Berrie · 05/11/2007 13:21

Is the new job a move to a different paper by any chance?

binkleandflip · 05/11/2007 13:51

Lyra, your post has just been arrived - thank you - so will bank tomorrow if thats ok

Yes have taken her to states twice now.

First time to Florida around seven hours I think - she was one and was fine all the way there and screamed all the way back! We were very popular on that flight I can tell you

Last year we flew to Boston which again is around 7 -8 hours. This time she took a computer thing that played movies so she watched one, had her meal etc and it actually wasnt too bad at all. They also gave her a big satchel of activity stuff when we boarded which kept her going. Who are you going to fly with do you know yet?

LyraSilverSparklers · 05/11/2007 15:01

No idea yet. Whoever's cheapest I guess. Which airline would you recommend? I think it would be worth investing in a portable dvd player to make the journey bearable.
I'm spending DP's pay rise before he's even seen any of it

LyraSilverSparklers · 05/11/2007 15:05

Berrie, he wasn't working over the weekend so his name won't be in it today. Try looking tomorrow. His surname's the same as mine.
Now, are you absolutely, completely and utterly sure you don't want to share you juicy gossip with us? You could email it to us and your friend would never know you spilled the beans.

Berrie · 05/11/2007 15:40

Lordy, I hope he never reads this!
Of course I want to but I have promised.

Berrie · 05/11/2007 15:43

Got him!
Thanks Lyra.

LyraSilverSparklers · 05/11/2007 16:24

Hang on, there are two with my surname. I hope you got the right one. It should be fairly obvious which is which.

Berrie · 05/11/2007 16:34

Only one has recently been promoted!

binkleandflip · 05/11/2007 16:38

Well we've been with BA and Virgin and I have to say Virgin were really very good.

I think there are cheaper flights with Travel City Direct but as with anything you get what you pay for and apparently they are very cramped which can be nightmarish with children in tow.

Zebedeedoodah · 05/11/2007 16:41

OMG! There was a murder around the corner from me yesterday! In a 'remote' farmhouse. I tell you, I'm moving back to London. It's a lot safer.

LyraSilverSparklers · 05/11/2007 16:50

Yikes Zeb, get the hell out of there and back to the big smoke!

Zebedeedoodah · 05/11/2007 16:53

I know. Lewisham was never that dangerous (although we're a little more upmarket these days donchaknow!)
I've been naughty and looked for your OH. Did someone name a movie after him?

LyraSilverSparklers · 05/11/2007 17:01

It's not his birth name, but one he acquired somewhere along the way.
Binkle, you're right about getting what you pay for. But DP doesn't like to spend more than he has to on these things. Not sure it's worth scrimping on a 7-hour flight though.

LyraSilverSparklers · 05/11/2007 17:21

I just googled my name and none of the first 100 results relate to me at all. I gave up then.

Berrie · 05/11/2007 18:56

Was it a neighbour Zeb or round the corner 10 miles away? I think we discussed local murders in the city many many many posts ago...

Zebedeedoodah · 06/11/2007 09:29

2 1/2 miles away, but fortunately someone's been arrested, so I'm not worrying about a crazed lunatic running around the countryisde as I'm holed up in my very own 'remote farmhouse'. Apparently she was battered to death. We know the farmer across the road, so DH, who did actually have a genuine reason to phone him...honestly , called him for all the gossip last night. Apparently they were known for furious rows and fights. .

LyraSilverSparklers · 06/11/2007 09:45

So it was her husband/partner that did it? That's far more reassuring than the thought that some random nutter broke in and murdered her for the fun of it.
Berrie, you were in my dream last night. You came to visit me (your drove here in a maroon VW Golf) and spent the afternoon with me but I was so busy we spent the whole time dashing about and it wasn't much fun for you.

Zebedeedoodah · 06/11/2007 09:59

So Berrie nicked my mum's car?! That's a VERY strange dream
Yes, it's a relief to know that it was a 'domestic', as you say. Not sure of the relationship though - it's one of those 'we didn't really know them' scenarios.

Berrie · 06/11/2007 13:37

Was I me or your idea of me?

binkleandflip · 06/11/2007 14:08

Hi all!!

Gggggrrrr!!

SOmetime MN really annoys me - or more specifically - those posters who like to think they govern the place! (obviously no-one on this thread )

Anway, where's Oggs? She hasnt been on for a while has she?

Berrie · 06/11/2007 14:10

Oh dear Binkle, what's up?

binkleandflip · 06/11/2007 14:12

Oh nothing, just you know, the supercilious types on here who seems to think its up to them to analyse and give a critique on everyone else's posts ALL THE TIME.

You know what I mean dont you?
