Ta daaaa.
Welcome to our new home .

OP posts:

We'll be all too busy draped around Lee's dressing room. Lyra will have distracted the doorman by fluttering her eyelashes. Oggs will have slipped whiskey in his coffee. When he is drunk in a pile on the floor, Binkle will drag him into a cupboard and we will sneak in. If Lee's girlfriend is hanging around, Berrie will lock her in the wig cupboard.
It's a plan.

Zebedeedoodah · 25/10/2007 13:09

Just remember to get him on stage for me, all right?!

Zebedeedoodah · 25/10/2007 13:10

Errrr, Lee that is, not the doorman!

LyraSilvertongue · 25/10/2007 14:00

Oggs, you don't need a passport. I lived in Scotland for a while and I never needed one when flying back to London.
I'm in if I can get someone to look after DSs for the day.

LyraSilvertongue · 25/10/2007 14:02

I used to fly with Ryanair from Prestwick to Stansted and the flight was less than an hour. You might get a good deal if you book early. Stansted Express gets you to london in a bit over an hour iirc.

LyraSilvertongue · 25/10/2007 14:14

Sorry, hadn't read back properly. Could you fly from another airport or is Glasgow your nearest? What about one of those super-fast trains? Or an overnight train?

Berrie · 25/10/2007 14:26

So the tent in January is not on then Lyra

LyraSilvertongue · 25/10/2007 14:30

It may be a little uncomfortable.

Berrie · 25/10/2007 14:36

Snigger

Zebedeedoodah · 25/10/2007 15:05

I don't think Lyra wants the likes of us camped out on her front lawns. Do you think we'll lower the tone of the neighbourhood?

LyraSilvertongue · 25/10/2007 15:18

You're welcome to camp if you want but I'm only thinking of your comfort.

LyraSilvertongue · 25/10/2007 15:19

Will we go for a few glasses of vino afterwards?

LyraSilvertongue · 25/10/2007 15:20

I'm going to have a look and see if they do ticket and hotel deals. Sometimes it works out cheapr todo a package.

Zebedeedoodah · 25/10/2007 15:27

Definitely! If I've got my mum, or some totally random stranger to babysit DS, do you think I'm going home to bed early?

binkleandflip · 25/10/2007 16:06

oh great! So we are all definately up for it! Lyra, will wait on you regarding ticket and accomodation packages but if no go then I will book the 5 (if they're still available!!) if not I think we've got a good chance of getting others in the afternoon and yes of course we are having a wine or 6 afterwards

binkleandflip · 25/10/2007 16:15

oh forgot to mention - the ticket price was £30 - row d of upper circle.
Completely unrelated and it might well be sacrilege to sully the thread with the mention of their name BUT I am excited so I'm going to share.....

.....I'm going to see TAKE THAT in December!! The kind folk at the bank who my dh deal with have offered him their corporate box at the M.E.N. at Manchester on 21st. Am. So. Excited. Only downside is I have to go with dh (as opposed to friends) so he can be schmoozed by the banking types - Pah! (I'm an ungrateful cow I know ) But he's only going to whinge.. already says I owe him BIG TIME for getting me in to see them - ..

LyraSilvertongue · 25/10/2007 16:17

Ok, this is just my first search result but is quite promising. Price for four tickets plus two twin rooms in a boutique Radisson hotel in Marble Arch is £329, or £82.25 per person. The tickets are in the upper circle and it doesn't say which row, so they could be the £15 tickets at the back.
Off to search some more...

LyraSilvertongue · 25/10/2007 16:19

They're row G (not too bad) on january 23.

binkleandflip · 25/10/2007 16:19

oh is there only 4 of us? I've only scanned but I thought we were all going

LyraSilvertongue · 25/10/2007 16:19

And the hotel is 4 star. right, searching again...

binkleandflip · 25/10/2007 16:20

is he not off til 26th?

LyraSilvertongue · 25/10/2007 16:20

No there are 5 of us but i wouldn't need the hotel package, so I'd just book a ticket separately.

LyraSilvertongue · 25/10/2007 16:21

Is he? Doh! Will try the 30th again.

binkleandflip · 25/10/2007 16:22

Yep cos I am there on the 25th to see Lewis

LyraSilvertongue · 25/10/2007 16:22

Take That??!!! the shame.
I'm going to see the Kaiser Chiefs in December but there will be no VIP box for me.
