Ta daaaa.
Welcome to our new home .

OP posts:
binkleandflip · 25/10/2007 16:23

but would that mean you couldnt sit with us though Lyra?

That'd be a bit of a blow - wouldnt be the same

binkleandflip · 25/10/2007 16:23

Am v. jealous about the Kaiser Chiefs!! Where are you going to see them?

LyraSilvertongue · 25/10/2007 16:26

Ok, 4 dress circle tickets plus two twin rooms in the Radisson Edwardian Vanderbilt in south Kensington for£126pp. Price includes full English brekkie. February 6 matinee.

LyraSilvertongue · 25/10/2007 16:28

It must be possible to get tickets very near. I'll see what hotels on their own cost cos it might not be cheaper to do the package.
Seeing Kaisers at Earl's Court. I saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers there last year and it was rubbish because we had seated tickets which were really high up and the sound was distorted. This time we'll be standing so it will feel like a proper gig. I saw the Kaisers last year too at Alexandra Palace and they were fantastic.

binkleandflip · 25/10/2007 16:34

Apparently they did an impromptu-ish gig on the prom at Blackpool a month or so back but I missed it

Feb 6 is sounding good - dress circle obviously better seats too....(getting quite giddy about the prospect that we might actually all go together and frankly worried for Lee after the show lol)

LyraSilvertongue · 25/10/2007 16:34

Twin rooms at The Selfridge hotel, next to the Selfridges dept store, are £72 per person. Add the cost of the tickets at £30 and that makes £102 (reasonable?), so it might be better to book separately. Then we'll def get 5 seats together.

binkleandflip · 25/10/2007 16:36

Agree...do you think we should try and get dress circle tickets though through an agency or stick to £30 upper circle ones?

LyraSilvertongue · 25/10/2007 16:39

Well the front three rows of the upper circle are fine, so I'd be happy with those, but front of dress circle would be better.

Zebedeedoodah · 25/10/2007 17:03

I'll just do as I'm told, but I won't need a hotel either - as I plan to doss at my sisters!

Take That eh?! How the other half live. Last concert I saw was Oasis at Knebworth and it was rubbish. I swore off that kind of thing after that.

LyraSilvertongue · 25/10/2007 17:09

I think you should book those tickets, Binkle, before they get snapped up. Row D should be fine. Do you know where in the row though? Middle is best.

Berrie · 25/10/2007 18:48

If it's easier twin room wise I can perhaps kip at my brothers.

EyeOfNewtAndToeOfoggsFrog · 25/10/2007 20:52

I'm lost ...I've got a stinking cold and I come on here to ease my throbbing head and aaaaarrrrggghhhhh! everything's changed...I'm confused.
What are we doing? When are we going? Who is needing hotel accommodation? Are we all going?
Hheheeelllppppppppppp................

EyeOfNewtAndToeOfoggsFrog · 25/10/2007 21:07
binkleandflip · 25/10/2007 23:20

OK the tickets are row D of the upper circle seats 8 - 12

They are for the matinee performance on 30th January.

If everyone is around can you confirm to me this is ok asap and I'll book them straight away

LyraSilvertongue · 26/10/2007 00:22

Hmm, 8-12 not so good. Upper circle is ok if you're in the middle. Maybe keep looking for a little longer for better seats?
I'm not liking this new-look MN, and with no warning. What were they thinking.

Berrie · 26/10/2007 07:21

Me neither, I'm all confused.
I'd wait Binkle until Oggs knows whether she can get there or not.
Lyra, if I went back to my brother's in Richmond, would I be on the same train as you? If not, I'd better stay over, if I've had a drink I don't want to be trying to get somewhere I don't really know. I think I might be better staying over.

Berrie · 26/10/2007 08:35

Ahhh that's better. You can change the settings if you want. I'm glad to be able to get rid of old threads. I hate it when ones I don't want hang around.

Berrie · 26/10/2007 09:15

Oh yes Oggs, I have paid the ransom and liberated your sae. I'm not sure I'll get it back today as it's tricky to get into the village at the moment as the fair is there and the roads are closed (and it's a long way to walk when it's raining )

EyeOfNewtAndToeOfoggsFrog · 26/10/2007 10:21

Cheers Berrie .

Gah! My connection speed is not up to looking for tickets....it just takes far too long.
Binkle, are these the sites you're using? They are who I booked with.
SEE for checking for and booking tickets
Theatremonkey seating plan for Adelphi
Thaetremonkey advice on best value seats
Anyone know how long it takes to get a replacement driving licence? I've checked and Ryan Air accept photo licences so that could be the answer. I can get to Prestwick airport in about 1 - 1.5 hrs and could fly down to Stansted. Then could get Express to Liverpool Street. It would be quicker and cheaper than train.
Count me in. I'll make it somehow and if the worst does comes to the worst (we could actually be snowed in at that time of year ) I lose the price of the ticket.

EyeOfNewtAndToeOfoggsFrog · 26/10/2007 10:35

Binkle the ones that you found should be okay...theatre monkey says row D is okay whereas U/C rows a-c have the safety bar blocking view. I cannot find any more central than that. I found the same seats (U/C Row D seats 8-12) available on 27 Feb also.

We should all arrange to be on here at a certain time and get it sorted.
Who will actually be staying overnight?
Where is Liverpool Street in relation to where you will be?

Berrie, I can't fly direct to EMA from Prestwick as far as I can see.

Got to go now. Will be back later.

EyeOfNewtAndToeOfoggsFrog · 26/10/2007 10:42

Look what the bidding is up to for Lee's 'Dab-a-doodle' (and no, it's not a euphamism)

Really got to go now

Zebedeedoodah · 26/10/2007 10:46

Gah! What on earth have they been up to? Site's gone all weird. I guess I'll get used to it....

Binkle - I agree with Oggs, just do the best you can and we can then fall in with you. We've got enough time to sort ourselves out I think. And as Oggs says, if the worst comes to the worst, and I can't make it, all I'll lose is the cost of my ticket (or you have to suffer my sis. instead!) BTW 5th March is my birthday - so happy for that date!!!! And next Wednesday is payday, so I can stump up payment then whilst my bank account is still full

And one last question Binkle - exactly how many times have you seen it/planned to see it now?

Berrie · 26/10/2007 10:52

Count me in!

Berrie · 26/10/2007 11:05

Zeb do you know if I'd be on the same train as you or Lyra? I wouldn't be confident navigating me way to my brothers if drunk!

Zebedeedoodah · 26/10/2007 11:36

Sorry, can you re-cap. Where would you be going to? If I'm at my sister's I'd be getting a train to Clapham Junction, which I think is the same direction as Lyra and is definitely on the Wimbeldon & Richmond line. Does that help? (Unless DH has the flat by then, in which case, it's nowhere near the same direction, but I'm more than happy to make sure you get on the right train. )
