I bet that guy was a member if the Windsor Chapter then?

sfxmum · 14/09/2007 11:47

yes I think dd would rather like that too, but the sight of huge burly folk is quite unnerving (living near Twickenham is a no no )

RL? was on earth is that?

sfxmum · 14/09/2007 11:50

what

both my aunt and sis have probably lived here too long. first text this morning from their hols.
'weather disappointing, food awful so far, poor service'

next week it will be 15 yrs since I have lived in London!

StellaPolaris · 14/09/2007 11:54

Foxcub,

You gonna have a day out at the cemetary looking at bikers?

Must mention to dh, he is motorbiking mad, and has on several occasions taken the kids to the Ace Cafe to hang out with the motorbiking crowds and look at bikes.

It is a good spelling exercise for my oldest too. Y-A-M-A-H-A, S-U-Z-U-K-I etc, must get something educational out of it.

Do you reckon the teachers wonders how come he can spell Yamaha and Hiabusa and NOT girl?

sfxmum · 14/09/2007 11:56

N O R T O N very important for biking enthusiasts

foxcub · 14/09/2007 14:27

or T R I U M P H

I was thinking of tying in a little walk to the retail park with whatever time the bikes are likely to go past.

sfx any idea what time the funeral is?

I think DS1 would be very impressed and maybe DD too

I love looking at souped up British Bikes

foxcub · 14/09/2007 14:28

Stella LOL at you spiiting out your tea

Kewcumber · 14/09/2007 15:35

actually I was considering doing a spot of bike watching if its in the morning (rugby i the afternoon of course)

OP posts:
sfxmum · 14/09/2007 16:11

no idea of the time sorry but I imagine they will hang around a while.
my guess would be mid morning

plan on morning jog then will see dh likely to take dd out for a while I could really do with some alone time.

sfxmum · 14/09/2007 16:15

actually found a story 2pm

yikes between 1500 to 3000 people expected to attend!

foxcub · 14/09/2007 16:46

Thanks for that link sfx

I wonder if they will approach from the A316 or the Mortlake Road (coming from over Kew Bridge maybe)

How exciting - though very sad for the poor man's family

Kew do you fancy hanging out about 1pm or something? We could "gather" and take a stroll down to the Cemetery main entrance. I bet the TV camera's will be there.

I bet his friends put on a really good show for him - in terms of lots of Chapter's turning up to show their respect etc.

ComeOVeneer · 14/09/2007 17:53

May be being a worry wart, but if the guy was murdered surely the police are there to keep an eye out for any further trouble as well as general crowd control.

foxcub · 14/09/2007 17:55

Hey my wonderful childminder has a vacancy if anyone is looking for child care in Kew? She's just been given notice by one of her Mum's so has a free space.

Kew will confirm how wonderful she is

She's just bought the cutest chocolate labarador puppy

sfxmum · 14/09/2007 17:58

yep we have been warned of huge police presence, but frankly sometimes that does more harm than good.

hope they keep it low key

sorry tmi but dd just came into the kitchen holding her potty saying 'look at my beautiful poopoo'

think will start no nappy at night today she has been dry for ages in the morning

foxcub · 14/09/2007 17:59

CoV I was thinking that but I think the chances of me or my Dcs being shot at a Hell's Angel's funeral in Kew are pretty remote TBH. Good point though

We can just watch the bikes go past from a the road.

Kewcumber · 14/09/2007 19:24

foxie you have forgotten that I have a child that naps at one!

slng · 14/09/2007 19:40

Didn't know there are bike enthusiats here! Has anyone been to that tiny motorbike museum in Greenford?

Yingers - how is school run? I'm going to have to check out schools this month, but too depressing to think about. To think they will be subjected to this institution for years! But probably don't have enough energy for homeschooling ... Maybe I'm a bit too negative... I'm on facebook too but have only 6 friends!! Is that sad or what!?

Mellow - are you planning trip to Malaysia next year? What travel agent do you use? I always use the same one ... But some Malaysians who run a chinese supermarket in Acton told me they are selling plane tickets too! Will check them out - also planning trip for probably May 2008. (These supermarket people even tried to flog us a second home in malaysia when we only wanted to buy kaya...) BUT my parents are coming next week! Yeah! Meanwhile LOTS of work to be done before term starts ...

Don't like to work too hard...

Paddlechick666 · 14/09/2007 19:56

i rode a motorbike from montreal to santiago in 98/99.

hello everyone. it's been a stressful week.

dd at Grandma's so collecting her tomorrow.

up for kew on sunday.

hope all well.
;-)

Kewcumber · 14/09/2007 20:05

Ihave been a bad mummy this evening - put DS to bed early and wihtout a bath becasue I am so short tempered that I may have to strangle him if he was awake any longer . Partly because I am tired, slept badly last night and haevn;t been that well and partly becuase he is the same! But poor little mite had his MMR and preenar this morning and I did have visions of being all lovely and comforting and maternal with him. Ah well. I suppose we both get a fresh start tomorrow - will get an early night tonight.

foxcub · 14/09/2007 20:09

Kew - DS2 had his jabs today too and is all grumpy and demanding. Dosed him with Calpol and Nurofen and really hoping he isn't grumpy all night. Two nights ago he kept me awake all night, waking constantly.

Are you still feeling poorly?

The funeral starts at 2pm tomorrow - what time does DS go down for a nap? I guess people will strat turning up from about 2.30??? {clueless}

sfxmum · 14/09/2007 20:33

paddle - that sound exciting presumably you mean Santiago Chile not the one in Spain, still exciting but not as much.

kew - quite sure that does not constitute bad parenting.
after a few days of dd being a bit poorly and generally grumpy and me not having much sleep I practically devolve her to dh from the time he comes in to the time I take her to be.
hope you both feel better tomorrow

hi sling and yingers

slng · 14/09/2007 20:43

I can't ride a bike but rode pillion on trip to France-Switzerland once, and Belgium-Luxemburg. Not as exciting as Santiago ... All done BC, of course (Before Children. Not that old...)

Yingers74 · 14/09/2007 23:41

hello sfx, sIng, fox and everyone else!

Just watched cinderella man, and it really made me cry!

slng - school run getting better as am now beginning to get used to it and the mums at the school gate so it seems less dauting. I largely do it by foot so at least it is making me fitter! If you like seek me on FB!

sfx - morning jog? Much respect to you! i will think of you when I try to lie in tomorrow!

stepfordwife · 15/09/2007 09:25
