foxie - have spent my 'internet' time on face book which is a little addictive and bizarre in what it throws up! Today I discovered that the now boyfriend of an old friend of mine was once the husband of another old friend of mine - weird!

sfxmum · 13/09/2007 08:15

good morning all

another snotfull night in the sfx household.
sympathies extended to all dealing with maladies.

so is everyone on Facebook? am weary me the idea of people from the past making contact, the whole friends reunited idea makes me cringe and this is sounding similar.

foxie - dd talks about you and yours frequently and I think she is getting the idea of siblings from you too, she is working out that bumps turn into babies

still I wish she would stop asking me loudly in public if my big tummy means I have a baby in there, the traitor!

hope you are all ok

SushiMummy · 13/09/2007 09:48

Morning all.

sfx, sorry to hear about your sleep deprivation. Is your DD teething by any chance? Hope you get decent sleep soon.

QC and foxie, I don't know what time we get to KG but hopefully before you board on the train, if not deffo after the ride, so 11.40ish at Vicky Gate. (Don't think DS would sit still for 40 mins.)

My mum is here and it's soooo lovely to have her around. Forgot how much she talks, tho!! She's been up from 4am thanks to the jetlag.

Kewcumber · 13/09/2007 09:53

I thought I might get off the train at C&C Sushi, so could meet you there around 11.30?

SFX don't worry about facebook - I predominantly use it to play scrabble and keep in touch with young neices and nephews. Haven't looked for any old friedns and don't plan to.

QC, lovely! 11.30 at C&C, then. Is your moby number same as the one on the list?

Kewcumber · 13/09/2007 10:09

no mobile - BUT I am going to pinch a spare one from work and I'll post the number later.

SushiMummy · 13/09/2007 10:18

ComeOVeneer · 13/09/2007 13:30

HI all. Well my ear is beginning o settle, although I did go back to the doctors this morning and she changed the drops and prescribed an oral antihistamine (I took your advice Kew and did take Piriton, nut this is something strobger). Hope sfx household improves snot wish . Sushi hope you have a lovely time with your mum visiting and fingers crossed this nice weather continues for her stay. How long is she over for? I can totally sympathise re jetlag, ds has only really just got over his. Speaking of ds he has settledin to nursery so well, and is making giant leaps in the toilet training when he is there (and at home too). He said (when I picked him up - but not in a sad way at all) "mummy, I bery bery (he means very) missed you". Brought a tear to my eye. He is seemingso grown up all of a sudden. I can't get used to him not being here, I keep suddenly thinking "where is he/what is he up to" as it is so quiet then remember .

foxcub · 13/09/2007 13:40

Yingers - that's spooky isn't it. So how do you find old friends on FB? I know you can type their name into search but is there any other way to sort of register that you are looking for them, so that if they join at a later date, you get informed?

I'm only asking as people keep finding me and I am wondering how they know I've just joined?

SFX - DS1 and DD often remark on "Mummy's big bum" in public. . Kids are great at humiliating their parents aren't they?

StarryStarryNight · 13/09/2007 13:48

Hi,

Quick but very important question:

What size Organised Mums diary do I want? The small bag sized or the life book?

Or does this depend on HOW disorganised I am?

This morning went a hoot. Came to school only to be asked by another mum "So, you coming to the Mass today then" umph! WHAT? TODAY? eh, of course. Busy day at work, and I had to scoot off for Mass.

ComeOVeneer · 13/09/2007 13:54

I have the life book and the wall family planner, but you do need a big handbag. The planner is good because I have trained dh to add his stuff to it, then I transfer it all to the book so hen I am out I know exactly who is doing what. But (as you are all beginning to realise ) I am somehat obsessed by things like this.

StarryStarryNight · 13/09/2007 13:59

I am concerned the little will be too small, and the big so big that I will not ever take it out with me. I mean, with toddler lunch boxes, nappy change and change of clothing, drinks, and my own hand bag i am already a bag lady. And I like small and neat hand carried bags (as opposed to shoulder bags)

Is the big so big that it is tempting to leave it at home? I mean 286 pages?

And what about the leather case (hmm, soft lush rasberry leather....) Do I need it, or is it just adding to the weight?

ComeOVeneer · 13/09/2007 14:01

OHyou most certainly need the cover

StarryStarryNight · 13/09/2007 14:03

Agreed. I need the cover.

sfxmum · 13/09/2007 15:56

just saw a notice on our building which probably concerns all in this neighbourhood.

this saturday it will be the funeral, at Mortlake crematorium, of that Hell angels bloke who was murderer on the motorway.

apparently lots bikes expected so the traffic will be awful, also police presence, so you know.

hi all

my aunt and sister are on way to ancestral home for a few days reminds me I have not been back in 13yrs.

dd looking rather frazzled and so am I

love my life book

Yingers74 · 13/09/2007 16:48

foxie - you can type their name in the search box to find fb members of the same name and if they have photos then bingo! On the whole I have been 'found' but my name is pretty unusual so even though my surname has changed I'm not hard to find!

what is the life book? sounds sinister!

sfxmum · 13/09/2007 16:55

very sinister

ComeOVeneer · 13/09/2007 17:39

Thanks for that heads up sfx. I am supposed to be taking the children to see their grandparents on aturday, I gues I will attempt the M25 route instead.

Kewcumber · 13/09/2007 19:27

do they have a disorganised mum life book which does housework?

OP posts:
StarryStarryNight · 13/09/2007 21:01

Kewcumber, I think that edition is called "the house keeper".

sfxmum · 14/09/2007 11:23

hello all

where is everyone? is it because we are in the middle of September and an august titled thread just does not appeal?

hope everyone ok, am off to shops soon, must get out of the house

ComeOVeneer · 14/09/2007 11:27

Blimey, it really isquiet around here thesedays isn't it. Don't tell me everyone is actually involved in RL are they?

foxcub · 14/09/2007 11:29
