COV - I'm impressed at your super organisation

Anyway just went on to check out forecast for Crete, roll on Tues

Lordy, lordy I am so exhausted I'm not sure I can type straight! Weekend was a mixed success.

DS was ill on Thursday - had to pick him up from CM after he projectile vomited just as she was about to go on school run. He was sick all morning then perked up so we decided to go to IOW anyway. He was fine until about 9pm when he had a poo so runny and explosive that it had to be seen to be beleived. As we were about to drive onto the ferry I had to change him on the back seat of the car in the dark.

Following morning he was fine but my mum was ill with D&V so plans for her to look after him for part of the day were scuppered so I just though "what the hell" and took him with me all day (returning for a short nap) and I have to say he was an angel and a big hit with the most surprising people at work. He looked very piratey in Foxie's DD's lace blouse with a red scarf (again courtesy of Foxie) as a cummerbund with a (plastic) sword tucked in and a makeup moustache. Ahhh, sweet I hope to get some good photos as hundreds were taken (none by me!).

TMI ALERT

I started feeling unwell that evening and went to bed early. Woke up at about 2am. Projectile vomited all over my sisters hall carpet and walls . Have never been so sick in all my life. Thankfully only lasted an hour and felt much better Saturday and have been fine but exhausted today. Having driven back half asleep and with my rib cage feeling like I've been kicked by a horse.

So the weekend had its ups and downs.

Oct 13th then? Will check with my mum that she can babysit and then we can organise lifts - I think FOxie and I are both happy to drive for those close to KEw.

jeez QC, sounds like you battled thru a nightmare.

dd hasn't been sick since the once last night. she was on belting form today and enjoyed a picnic in Clapham, slept 40 mins in car on way home about 5ish and was still sparko by 7:30pm which is unheard of.

i'm not feeling 100% but putting it down to not really sleeping last night.

hopefully the D&V you guys have had isn't what dd had. certainly no D and no projectile V either.

got a massively pressured week at work so really can't afford for either of us to be sick this week.

CM called earlier to say one of dd's playmates has gone pox tho so we'll see!

anyways, welcome back, glad ds was a pirate hit and that you're feeling better. sounds like it was swift but hard hitting.

impressed with rear seat runny poo management!

Kewcumber · 09/09/2007 20:39

didn;t have any wipes with me either (left them at home by mistake ). can;t decide whether that qualifies me for worst mummy of the year award or supermummy!

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 09/09/2007 20:47

i'd take supermummy!

i've got Sting belting out Don't Stand So Close round here at the mo!

Kewcumber · 09/09/2007 20:50

from your house or next doors?

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 09/09/2007 21:00

next door, that being Twickers!

foxcub · 09/09/2007 21:01

Kew - I really feel for you having to change a D nappy in the back seat with no wipes Reminds me of an experience I had in the Ikea toilets (don't ask - but it was so smelly that women fled from the toilets wretching from the stink of Ds1's bum !!)

Glad pirate went down well - sound sgreat !!

I don't think my DD had the D&V bug - she was not ill at all.

CoV - I'm veggie (well eat fish but not seafood) and not fussy - deffo on for 13th I can drive from Kew and have 6 spare seats - as long as someone else can map read

We went to Wiltshire today to see my Mum and lil' sis and bro' - twas great - had a nice walk around and imagined living there mortgage free . car got there and back too!!

Meeting boss tomorrow to discuss flexi hours so wish me luck Grrllls!! half scared half looking forward to it as he's generally lovely guy.

Kewcumber · 09/09/2007 21:04

I feel a bit like quoting the diarrhea/no wipes episodes in a missive to my MP in order to get the home visits from the social workers stopped. Is this not proof enough that I am a competant parents!!!!!

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 09/09/2007 21:04

QC, surely you must have a very good case!

sfxmum · 09/09/2007 21:08

foxie best of luck for tomorrow

paddle hope week goes ok. did you say you were going full time?

kew - I have left wipes behind before it happens top parenting problems solving skills if you ask me
and btw sounds like you had a good time give or take a D&V or two

SushiMummy · 09/09/2007 21:08

Evening all.

Hope everyone's LOs will be better soon. DS has been ill, too. Six very runny nappies and temparature. His right eye is full of mucus, too. I think I'll have to take him to the doc tomorrow.

QC glad the trip to IOW was a success (albeit mixed).

SushiMummy · 09/09/2007 21:12

Best of luck, foxie. Hope things work out in favour for you.

stepfordwife · 09/09/2007 22:55

evening all
how you all diddling?

kew - supermummy definitely.
hope you all feeling better now. bumped into your mum lurking round the postbox on friday (ds1 did actually ask:"what are you doing hanging around the postbox?"

foxie - good luck for tomorrow. you're not allowed to move, REMEMBER.

sushi..hope ds is ok.

well, dh back to work tomorrow after nearly 3 months off. back to reality for all of us...damn..

had my neice and nephew for weekend so ds and dh (her dh, that is..) could go away and celebrate their anniversary.
dh looked a bit when i sighed:"oh..5 kids is such fun,
dontca think...4 would do, tho..."

stepfordwife · 09/09/2007 22:59

paddle - roxanne still one of my fave songs.
remember many moons ago going to see a young, unknown band called the police doing gigs at slough college..god, they were gorgeous.

those were the days, before sting got all serious and intense about tantric sex in the rainforest...

Kewcumber · 10/09/2007 09:06

my mum sells books online steppie - hence quite a bit of lurking around the postbox and being on first name terms with the postman.

Got my crown being fitted this afternoon - 2.5 hrs at the dentist

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 10/09/2007 09:06

morining ish! hi all cant remember who said this a few days ago, but.... one of you said ur glad that you dont have to get up at 6am to make sandwiches as the weekend is here!( cant be asked to scroll thru the thread again and find it)Can i ask how old ur kids r? As if they are old enough why not get them to help, or even make the sandwiches together the night b4! and wrap them ina freezer bag, this keeps them moist and fresh! and if the rest of the luch is packed, apart from yoghurts etc, then u simply put the other refrigerated items in the box in the am! sorry if i sound patronising, but just thinking of other ways that you can have extra time in bed! xx

2Cute · 10/09/2007 11:55

Wow QC, sounds like quite an eventfull wknd! Would love to see pics of ur DS in all his pirate gear.

Fingers crossed Foxi. Go show 'em what your made of girl!

Went to watch Prince at the O2 last nite. Fan flippin tastic! That man is funk personified.

CoV - Would love to come admire your new kitchen on 13th. I'm also vegetarian but not fussy. Will you be spoiling us again with your lovely home made desserts?? (a not so subtle hint! )

2Cute · 10/09/2007 11:58

Sorry aboutthe night terrors sfx - its horrible isn't it? I put a couple of drops of lavender oil on DS's pillow, (I think it was Quokka who suggested that). His terrors seem to have calmed down unless he's really exhausted.

Yingers74 · 10/09/2007 12:01

mellow - goodness knows when I am going to be able to return the cup! Hopefully we will meet on a night out. I need one of those!

choc - I think it was me! dds are 1 and 4! I tend to make the lunch in the morning as i stick them in a little sandwich box! Also am a little sad so also do things like mini pizzas and pancake rolls whick need to be cooked as I hate the idea of her just eating sarnies for lunch - this stance may change of course by half term!

foxie - hope meeting went well this morning!

And yes facebook is pretty good, I like the way it allows you to keep in touch with people from the past without making them feel you are stalking them! Which of course I am not!

Yingers74 · 10/09/2007 12:05

stepford, think I am getting into the swing of it now but after 4 years of being able to pretty much live at our own pace, having to dance to someone else's watch is a little disconcerting! What will I be like when I eventually return to work?

sfxmum · 10/09/2007 12:51
