Hi all

I know what you mean, I used to go to loads of concerts before DS, I only went to one this year (listening to the Police concert last night doesn't count)

Anyway hope all your LO's who were ill over the weekend are feeling much better now.

have almost finished packing, we're off on hols for 2wks so see you when we get back!

Kewcumber · 10/09/2007 17:13

didn't ever really do big concerts - was once given tickets to U2 at Wembly and said "ooh would I have heard any of their songs "

Was more of a small venue - hippy/folky/country kinda chick. Hammersmith Apollo was as large as I did by choice and much smaller if possible. Don't really like crowds much. [wimpy emoticon]

Any news from Foxie?

Also have just had my tooth crowned so sympathy please...

Kew - much sympathy[ouch]off for some punishment myself on wednesday.

I don't mind crowds if its a festival or I have very good front seats, love small venues but those tickets are hard too come by.

There was someone I wanted to see next month but the available tickets are rubbish and I want to swoon and droll at the blokeso very far from stage not good enough

anyway

stalking thread in hope of hearing from foxie

sfxmum · 10/09/2007 17:20

speaking of small venues Union Chapel in north London is just gorgeous ditto Somerset house

Kewcumber · 10/09/2007 17:24

my fave ever live performer (eddi Reader) recorded a concert at Union Chapel sadly I didn;t get there but saw many of her others. used to see a lot at Windsor Art centre as a friend was trustee there.

sfxmum · 10/09/2007 17:34

I have started getting on mailing lists to increase chances of getting tickets. or at least knowing about gigs with enough notice.

I did not know Eddie Reader was still around, is that she from Fairground Attraction?

sfxmum · 10/09/2007 17:34

or eddi even

Kewcumber · 10/09/2007 17:36

yes she is and IMHO her solo stuff is a million times better (though less commercial than her FA stuff)

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 10/09/2007 17:41

same goes for Brian Kennedy IMO.

talk about a mental day. getting to the office AND dropping dd off at CM for 8am is a challenge. respect to you QC.

I am going in every day except Tuesday this week

Kewcumber · 10/09/2007 17:43

hapt to take all teh respect I can get Paddle - but whats it for in particular (other than my general fantasticness?)

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 10/09/2007 17:43

though obviously not for my spelling...

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 10/09/2007 17:43

and who is Brian Kennedy (should I know him?)

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 10/09/2007 17:46

yes, deduct points for spelling!

Brian Kennedy was also in Fairground Attraction then formed Sweetmouth then sank without a trace for a while and is quite big on the Irish/Folk scene.

Seriously gorgeous and seriously gay

Kewcumber · 10/09/2007 17:48

have you heard any Homespun (Dave Rotehray and Sam Brown et al)? I love them but I don't think they're going to record much more they were always intended to be temporary.

Didn;t follow any of the otehr members of FA so hadn;t caught up with him. Eddi Readers voice is mesmerising live.

Have started potty training DS today (well, nursery have...). He went off as pleased as punch this morning in his new dinosaur underpants.

sfxmum · 10/09/2007 17:52

I can't possibly even dream of reading this thread. Can some give me a summary of recent events?

Has anything happened with a leaving do for Nanou? In fact has Nanou surfaced on mumsnet or e-mail?

When is the shin dig to admire COV's new kitchen?

We are just back from a week hols in Germany where we left the kids at home and DD went to her first day of reception without me - oops. I planned and paid for the hol and THEN school announced when the first day was. And I was not about to through the hol away. DD didn't seem to mind but I felt bad about.

COV, we need to get planning our hotel room for the X-mas party. I shall e-mail you.
