shiny new thread to sully.

OP posts:

Yingers LOL at your vacuum cleaner - we have the same model (lots of noise but no suck)

Slng - like your policy of getting 2nd cheapest

CoV - well I consulted Nanou again and she has cancelled the restaurant for tonight as it was all a bit up in the air. Did we say 13 Oct for your "kitchen warming"? If so, I can ask her to diarise that date so we could say goodbye to her at the same time as admiring your kitchen

Mrs R - you'll be proud of me as I have actually started expressing milk - am using those fab lanisoh bags you kindly gave me. I have now "made" 2 x 80ml bags . I want to get him a t-shirt which says "I want milk from my Mummy - not from any old cow"!

Meanwhile Monti is losing interest in BF during day and has sussed that he thinks he can get food during day and then keep me awake all night by Bfing every hour! Cheeky Monkey!!

Still in a dither about which hoover to get! Perhaps I should try good old "Hoover"? I always liked that Art Deco Hoover building on A4 - which is as good a reason as any to choose them, dontya think?

foxcub · 07/09/2007 13:29

Where are you going again Rosemerta?

Make sure your big suitcase is within the new size limits

foxcub · 07/09/2007 13:47

Got a £120 fine from LB Camden this morning for driving the wrong way up a 1 way st

sfxmum · 07/09/2007 14:04

ouch! that's a lot do they reduce it if you pay straight away?

hi everyone

am completely out of sorts today, barely slept last night not sure why, just busy mind I guess.
dd on the other hand is full of beans

Ros - have a great holiday

guess QC in deep in the ahoy maties and all that

foxcub · 07/09/2007 14:14

sfx when I rang LB Camden to pay, they said "the balance on your account is £60" - my account? I hope they don't plan to make this a regular thing! I have already decided never to go to Camden again!

Sorry you had a rough night

Wonder what Kew is doing now - enjoying posh lunch probably

sfxmum · 07/09/2007 14:21

got to love official speak
how on earth did you manage to drive up the wrong way? pray tell.. probably wise decision to stay clear of Camden nothing but tourists and teenagers

well I am puzzled because I seem to have stopped understanding portuguese the consulate sent me a letter full of official lingo which I can barely decipher.
they are granting me an audience at the end of October

it's really a lovely language but not in thje hands of these people

Paddlechick666 · 07/09/2007 14:38

foxie, what a bummer! bit like my parking ticket for £100 from last week. I swear Richmond Council hide their residents parking only signs! at least mine was reduced for instant payment.

i've just agreed to go full time in the new year

Paddlechick666 · 07/09/2007 14:38

ps: hope QC's stuck into the yo ho ho and a bottle of rum by now!

foxcub · 07/09/2007 16:46

Paddle - - parking ticket monsters!!

sfx - We were lost anyway and late for my friend's wedding. We entered the one way road, from a side road half way down. So there was not a "no entry" sign, just presumably a blue arrow pointing the opposite way to that which we were driving!! The ticket said we ignored the blue arrow

DH had said all along we should go by train. Traffic was awful and we arrived all stressed anyway.

Yingers74 · 07/09/2007 21:13

Is anyone else on facebook? A friend put me on it and I was very chuffed to have 30 friends then I found my cousins (all of whom are in their very early twenties) and they all have well over a hundred! Just goes to show that the young are far from the anti-social so and sos that the media portray them as!

So glad it is the weekend, means I don't have to get up at 6.30 tomorrow to make lunch and do the whole school thing! Sigh!

Have a good weekend all

foxie - like your hoover idea! Alternatively you could cut out pictures of various models, put them in a hat and pick one!

chocabloc · 07/09/2007 21:16

well yingers im on facebook and in my mid twenties and were are definatley not anti social! lol i think i try to arrange going out the most, but whilst being the only one of my freinds with a child!

ComeOVeneer · 07/09/2007 21:46

Foxie, need to doule check but I think we decided on the 22nd of October at mine. Will check the thread and report back.

ComeOVeneer · 07/09/2007 21:52

No, you are absolutely right, it is the 13th of October at mine, which is still fine.

foxcub · 07/09/2007 21:59

Hiya

Yingers I'm on facebook too and found my step daughter in Australia who I haven't seen for 5 years - so its great!!

She said "I can't believe I found you on here!" Translated this means "Aren't you a bit old for facebook?"

DS1 has a friend doing a sleepover tonight (the first one we've hosted). They are sitting up with DD giggling in a conspiratorial manner - its great fun for them

DS2 had his first mashed potato tonight!!

Steppy think I have your sun cream. I will add it to my collection of things you have left here at various times to be collected at some later date

CoV - glad I remembered something correctly at last!

SushiMummy · 07/09/2007 22:19

Evening all.

Think I've bought a fake bag on ebay. Will take it to the shop tomorrow for authenticity check then open a dispute. Don't know if I get the money bag.

I'm more sad than upset atm.

SushiMummy · 07/09/2007 22:21

back not bag.

ComeOVeneer · 07/09/2007 22:23

Am not particularly up to speed with ebay but surely if they advertised it as genuine, yet it isn't they are obliged to refund as it is misrepresentation?

SushiMummy · 07/09/2007 22:36

In theory, yes CoV. I should be able to get the refund providing I follow all the procedure but what if they do a runner?

I feel really stupid to have believed it's genuine.

SJ99 · 08/09/2007 11:09

Hi all

Bad luck Sushi
Haven't been on ebay for a while but don't ebay provide some protection if seller has not delivered what was advertised? Don't know how much you paid for it but I think they cover claims up to a certain amount (well they used to) if seller doesn't refund the cash (which they should in this case if fake). You can obviously leave negative feedback so future buyers are aware.

Happy holidays Ros - hope you got your case shut!

foxcub · 08/09/2007 13:48

Hiya

Hi Sushi - that's horrible - let us know whether it is real or not. may be worth starting a thread to find out what action other people have taken in similar circumstances.

What a lovely day - I'm pleased as we actually got out of the house early and got lots done and its still only lunchtime.

Steppy - guess who I just saw?

Nicola

She says she'd deffo be up for a meet so I am going to ring her to arrange a time. Which days of the week are best for you? Monday or Friday are my best days. I think she works p/t but will check with her.

Well I almost saw Nanou last night as she tried to pop over but she got stuck for about an hour waiting for a train that never materialised. poor thing. I said "at least you are "out" in the evening - even if you only visited a train station"!

stepfordwife · 08/09/2007 14:50

hello chaps
how you all diddling?

stepfordwife · 08/09/2007 14:53

stepfordwife · 08/09/2007 14:53

fab hols even, ros..
although i'm sure your hold is fab, too

ComeOVeneer · 08/09/2007 17:05

Hi all, dh has taken the children out for the day (bliss). I have finished the book I started on holiday, had a long soak in the bath and (how sad is this) sorted out the menu for the mn meet up at my place and the menu for the 4 days we have people over at christmas, printed of menu planners, baking lists, freezer lists, done the shopping lists, christmas card lists, christmas present lists, plus printed of thankyou notes for dd to fill in. I think steppy needs to hand over her name to me

SushiMummy · 08/09/2007 17:32

Hi all.

Update - yes, it was fake sadly. The shop assistant couldn't tell at first, it was very well made. She was very helpful and gave us a written confirmation so I think I've got a good case to get the money back.

Went to South African Day at Hanover Sq today (not that we have anything to do with SF). We had a fab time!!

Have a lovely holiday, Ros!
