a voice of dissent here - I hated my Dyson, it was always going wrong and I was permanently envoloped in clouds of dust when I tried to empty it. Henry is fab, nothing much to go wrong, even builders can't seem to break them (try though they do).

Rosmerta - could you ask your friend (Jo?)who knows my mum from music class what she is now going to on Weds - she started to tell me and didn't finish. Mum woudl like to go back to a class on a Weds morning.

Thanks for the reminder. nanous voicemail was on so I left a message on her Moby.

kew - lots of builders use Henrys don't they, which is why I thought they must be pretty durable - sucking up all that dust etc.

ComeOVeneer · 05/09/2007 20:47

We have a miele, foxy. Have had it for the past 6 years. It is still going strong after having builders use it after we had an internal wall knocked down, 2 new kitchens, 2 children (now almost 3 and 6), 2 cats (almost 7). It was pricey but has done very well.

foxcub · 05/09/2007 21:33

Nanou has booked a table for Friday

Monti started crying so she is to call me tomorrow to inform me where we are going

sfxmum · 06/09/2007 10:09

2Cute · 06/09/2007 11:46

Morning everyone

QC - Great news about your mum!!

Really must drag self out of house today. Still not felling 100% and poor DS has watched more T.V these past 2 weeks than he ever has in his life!

2Cute · 06/09/2007 11:46

feeling even

SushiMummy · 06/09/2007 12:36

Hi all.

2cute, hope you feel better soon.

Anyone asking questions to Dr Tanya Byron this afternoon on MN? Was going to ask about DS picking nose (and eating it) habit but decided not to!

SJ99 · 06/09/2007 12:45

Hello All

Good luck to all those who are starting school this week, what a milestone

Kew - great news about your mum & enjoy your pirates away day

Been busy shoe shooping - can you believe I went to 3 different places and each one gave a different measurement of DS's feet ? Talk about confusing and not to mention frustrating.

MrsRecycle · 06/09/2007 13:18

Hello everyone! Did you miss me?? KC - good news about your Mum although she must have been so worried.

Foxie - I have my grandma's electrolux which is about 30 years old. I used to buy expensive machines every year and they'd manage to break down just after the 1 year warranty. That includes Dysons as well. So when my Grandma moved into her home, I gratefully received her ancient one. Been going strong for the 2 years I've had it now.

My new AP is brilliant - it's so nice to have someone doing things without asking and not having to constantly repeat myself. Starry - I'm going to contact you as she is a bit homesick (bored during the day) and wants to meet other APs (assuming yours has settled in well!).

I'm not going to be able to make this Friday as my friend has arranged to come to the caravan this weekend and, as I couldn't make her baby's Christening last Sunday, I don't want to let her down again. Sorry Nannou

sfxmum · 06/09/2007 17:29

hi MrsR - welcome back, shame you can't make it Friday be lovely to see you

2cute I hope you feel better soon

QC - got your mag today and I am glad I did not read it in publicI am getting soft in my old age.

2cute, hope you're on the mend soon.

foxcub · 06/09/2007 20:31

Paddle - Nanou said she is now leaving on 1 November so we could reschedule perhaps?

Cov/sfx what do you think?

CoV - could we perhaps make your kitchen christening a leaving do for Nanou? What do you think?

If we go tomorrow, it would just be you, I and Nanou, and maybe sfx.

I'll ask nanou what she wants to do as well...

ComeOVeneer · 06/09/2007 20:50

More than happy to make the meet up at mine for Nanou. TBH I am not sure about tomorrow anyway as ds is still refusing to sllep due to jet lag and dh has done his back in an wasn't at work today. I will udpdate tomorrow am as to how the night goes and how dh is. Can't believe I haveonly been back since monday am and I already feel like I need a holiday .

sfxmum · 06/09/2007 21:26

foxie - I think it is probably best to postpone given the numbers. dh will be happy to know he can work late again tomorrow after all

Yingers74 · 06/09/2007 21:54

hello all, can't do tomorrow as DH is out at a works do but I do love the food at the lantern taverna and the atmosphere is normally good! So am happy to make another day to see Nanou off!

Stepford, have only been doing it for two days and the routine and the NEED to be somewhere on time is making me a tad stressed! Poor dd2 gets woken up early from her nap, thrown into the pram to go pick up her sister. She seems to like it though so its only me with the complaints!

foxie - am also thinking of buying a henry (once the credit card balance falls - it is nearly 4k now ). We have this vacuum cleaner that makes a hell of a noise but does nothing!

SushiMummy · 07/09/2007 08:07

Morning all.

Sorry, can't do tonight but thanks for asking, foxie.

Have a lovely day, all!

slng · 07/09/2007 08:26

Vacuum cleaner - we got a very light Kenwood so it doesn't break our backs hoovering the stairs (not that we do it anyway). It works (but we don't have carpet, and don't have pets, only little boys, so easy cleaning) and it's the second cheapest one in the shop ... (Always go for the second cheapest, is my principle.)

SJ99 · 07/09/2007 09:24

Morning all

Thanks for asking Foxie but I cannot make it tonight.

Sushi thanks for recommending the Glasshouse, it was excellent!!! Food and Service were faultless

We got a Dyson as a wedding present 4yrs ago and I love it (well as much as you can love hoovering )

MrsRecycle · 07/09/2007 09:28

Hi everyone! Foxie - shame about the car, I was awaiting your call as well. The Lantern - eleusis and I ate there a long long time ago and it was lovely. Definitely up for a rescheduled date if it happens.

Disneyland Paris was amazing and so so magical. dd2's first tooth decided to fall out in the Princess' Castle and she got 10 Euros from the tooth fairy.

I've got to work the Sunday after next so might be up for a daytime meet-up, if anyone's around.

rosmerta · 07/09/2007 09:41

Welcome back MrsR! Glad you had a nice time

I would definitely be up for a rescheduled date for Nanou!

SJ - glad you had a nice evening too!

Right must go finish packing. Its ridiculous, 3 of us going away for 6 days and I can't close the big suitcase, we're going to have to take 2 bags!

Am slightly dreading the flight now that ds is fully mobile, though we have borrowed a personal dvd player as a last resort to keep ds entertained
