shiny new thread to sully.

foxie I am happy to help but am would not be comfortable looking after 4 kids in the park, mostly because we don't know each other very well.
but I could look after them at my place or yours as it it's bigger and familiar to them.

let me know I can keep monday free just in case.

I seem to have been struck now with something evilI have just spent the morning scrubbing the bathroom and the kitchen
dh contemplating coming home to watch the phenomenon

foxcub · 05/09/2007 13:08

sfx you must have domesticitis!! I hope its not contageous

Thanks for the offer regarding Monday. It would be just DD and DS2, as DS1 will be at school. If I can wangle someone to pick up DD from nursery for me it would only be DS2, for maybe abour 90-100 minutes. I reckon I won't be in the meeting long as my boss is very busy.

The friend I have asked has, I think, gone to Scarborough until tomorrow night so I may not be able to get a yes/no from her until Friday morning... really annoying, but I don't have her moby number as it was on my old moby, which got lost etc etc....

I will let you know as soon as I can contact her. Thanx

Kewcumber · 05/09/2007 13:09

more importantly foxie - do you know where your piratey things are? can I stop the hunt for a bandanna?

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 05/09/2007 13:09

sfx - when you're finished, you know where my house is, right?

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 05/09/2007 13:10

my baby is never going to start school. He will never be big enough. Am already slightly shocked that he is growing out of clothes

Hi all. QC fab news about your mum, you must be so relieved. I woke dd for school this morning despite not going to sleep until after 12 (ds was up until after 3am again, but I also woke him at 9am and will only let him nap for an hour this affternoon so hopefully he will be tired tonight). This jetlag malarkey is undoing all the good the holiday has done me.

It was weird taking dd to school this morning and seeing all the new reception children and her not being one of the youngest any more. Plus with ds starting nursery tomorrow, my yerning for a third is stronger than ever. I have made a huge list of things to do with my free time (it will be such a novelty to get things done without a small child hanging off my leg, I haven't experienced that for almost 6 years ).

Yingers74 · 05/09/2007 13:51

Foxie, I think I will cry when dd2 starts school as then I will go home to an empty house!

Come - yes despite all my complaints I too yearn for a third but think that is just a reaction to the fact my girls are growing up! Unlikely to happen as dh's stance has not moved from his NEVER position!! Ho hum, think I will do a wish list of activities to fill my free time which will hopefully cheer me up!

Kew - LOL, I hope you are right!

foxcub · 05/09/2007 14:09

Kew yes I know where they are - you can collect them any day this week after work The bandana is a red satin triangle/scarf - is that what you mean? Although I think it may be designed to go around a neck, its quite big. I deffo have a black pirate hat too and a soft hook which you can wave at people instead of a waggling finger

Yingers - My next door neighbour couldn't bear going home to an empty house when her youngest strated school, so she goes straight to the gym, then home later for lunch.

I have to say that the concept of an empty house seems quite remote for me atm and it would be very, very welcome at times!!

foxcub · 05/09/2007 14:10

ps I'll need the pirate stuff back of course, as DD likes dressing up in it

Girl Power!!

ComeOVeneer · 05/09/2007 14:31

Is anyone going to let meknow what is going on re Nanou's leaving do, or all you all sneaking of for a night out without me?

rosmerta · 05/09/2007 14:33

hi all, been swimming this morning so ds now exhausted and has been asleep for 2hrs.

Foxie, would love to help out but I won't be here on Monday.

Sfx, if you still fancy cleaning your more than welcome to come do my house

rosmerta · 05/09/2007 14:35

Yes Cov, we're all off out without you as you've just had a lovely holiday

Sorry, I can't make Nanou's leaving but as far as I know we haven't heard from her and nothing's been booked. But someone else might know more by now!

sfxmum · 05/09/2007 14:40

ladies be kind d not mock an domesticitis afflicted housewife

dd just had huge nap, guess that explains the extreme stroppiness this morning.

my embassy is causing me to want to change nationalities, they are so obtuse

right will drag dd out as I need some fresh air

Kewcumber · 05/09/2007 14:52

not mocking at all sfx - it was a serious offer. My door is always open to your mop and bucket.

Foxie - you can have it all back on Monday, promise.

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 05/09/2007 14:52

I think Foxie has been trying to reach her but as I'm away this weekend I haven't been paying attention. Anyone heard from Ele?

OP posts:
foxcub · 05/09/2007 16:26

Can someone please remind me to ring nanou this evening? I spoke with her yesterday morning and agreed to call her back at lunchtime (she was at work) and then forgot. Then I forgot to call her last night too

I love the word obtuse

stepfordwife · 05/09/2007 17:36

hi everyone
how you all diddling?

kew - that's fantastic news about your mum. so happy for you both. i've got a skulls and crossbones badanna if foxie can't locate hers which you're welcome to borrow if needs be.

foxie - could help you out mon if you still need it. purel;y because i love lebanese food, you understand, nothing to do with being altruistic
would need to be back for school run, tho.

how did you get on getting everyone back to school. i was faffing about last night writing names on clothes with marker pen. can't stand them going back - all that - shudder - routine.
dd wailing when i leave her at nursery which makes me feel like crap mother from hell.

sfx - re public proposal. dh had actually done that months before, so this was just handing over the ring. but even so. what was he thinking?!
have a good evening everyone
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 05/09/2007 17:37

welcome back cov

foxcub · 05/09/2007 17:42

How was this morning for you Steppy?

I set my alarm for 6.20am to make sure we got to school on time!

stepfordwife · 05/09/2007 17:45

it was fine actually, but have still got dh at home!
ds1 was a bit nervous about the giddy progression to 'juniors", though. but all seemed well when i picked them up

foxcub · 05/09/2007 18:45

LOL - DS1 here was relishing graduating to Juniors at last! He sauntered into the "Junior playground" hands in pockets, cool as you like. It was me who was nervous about graduating to the big girls playground!!

OK Can anyone recommend a vacuum cleaner? Ours has died and I am considering getting a Henry. Don't say Dyson please, too expensive and flash. We just want a good reliable one.

In my childhood, hoovers lasted for years. But we seem to have to buy a new one each year. I mean, its not as though they even get used very often!

rosmerta · 05/09/2007 18:52

Foxie, sorry but dyson's are very reliable, we've had ours for about 6yrs now! That's the last I'll say of them though !

Kew, sorry I missed the bit about your mum, that's fantastic news.

foxcub · 05/09/2007 19:28

Rose I know Dyson's are probably worth the long term investment, but I can't afford £327 or whatever it is atm, unfortunately. I do aspire to a Dyson though .

Talking of cleaning, we have a home visit from the school tomorrow. There is so much fraud (false addresses mainly) by people trying to access places, that the school now checks that applicants actually live where they sauy they do

....hence last minute vacuum panic by myself.

still talking of cleaning, I spoke with yours today Kew.

foxcub · 05/09/2007 19:29

thankfully, they don't check that the parents can spell simple words such as "say" though

sfxmum · 05/09/2007 19:43

foxie i would second ros, really like my dyson.
Henry is fine too.

will take dd to pool tomorrow meant to today but got sidetracked. she has been on full on toddler mode today among other things shouting the lyrics of twinkle twinkle little start in the waterlilly house
