Just thought I would get this up and running before the old one is full.

nice to meet you Kew, mellow and ros and your lovely children.

ANd Kew, apols for my very rude dd! I really don't know what had got into her! I hadn't told her we were meeting anyone (because I wasn't sure if we were) so I think they were a bit taken by surprise but it's no excuse. They are normally quite chatty once they've got over a moment of shyness (as poor mellow found out over lunch).

Your boy is a real cutie. I'm not surprised he couldn't fit any lunch in .

foxcub · 09/08/2007 22:25

Anyone going to Kew Beach tomorrow then.

Am feeling I missed the fun today

Kewcumber · 09/08/2007 22:41

yes but probably too early for you foxie maybe 10.30 ish depedning on my tesco shop

Yingers74 · 09/08/2007 22:50

Foxie - ok, when you say kew beach, is that another way of saying kew gardens or kew cumber's house? Sorry just needed to know! I am having a friend over who now resides in Germany and what am I going to make her do? Go with me to the park and perform 'auntie' duties - poor thing!

have fun tomorrow!

mellow2 · 10/08/2007 07:50

Yingers,
There's a big sandpit and some beach chairs by Pavilion Restaurant in Kew Gardens where the kids go to play and it's called Kew Beach.

My dd absolutely loves it. Your dds might too. Were you planning to go to Kew Gardens today? I'll probably be there about 11.30 am.

Kewcumber · 10/08/2007 08:02

sorry to disappoint Yingers but I don;t have a personal beach!

Kewcumber · 10/08/2007 08:03

I might overlap with you for half an hour Mellow. Am stuck at home all afternoon wiating for washing machine

SJ99 · 10/08/2007 09:08

Hi all

DS woke up at 4.45am today and couldn't get back to sleep, what was that all about??

Lovely to meet you 2Cute and Ros yesterday and your boys, DS had a fun time at 'Disneyland' . Thanks so much for the loan of the t-shirt and the sandwiches, getting home seemed quicker probably because I didn't have to try and work out where I was going LOL.

Off to buy present soon. Enjoy the beach again those of you going.

SJ99 · 10/08/2007 09:12

Ros - don't have car today as I forgot DH is working in Bristol today. Will jump on bus when DS wakes up from nap, will call if any probs. See you later at reception

mellow2 · 10/08/2007 09:25

It was really nice to meet you too, foxinsocks.

mellow2 · 10/08/2007 09:29

2cute,
I left a message on Facebook for you. Your traditional outfit looks gorgeous.

You should come to Kew Gardens. It's been such a long time since I've seen you.

foxcub · 10/08/2007 10:11

yes 2cute come to Kew Beach !!!

See you there about 11.30am, mellow and kew

rosmerta · 10/08/2007 11:59

Hi all, nice to catch up/meet with everyone yesterday!

SJ, I'll call you when ds has woken up if that's ok, I'll have to give him a snack and then it will probably take me 20 mins to get there.

eleusis · 10/08/2007 12:46

Hi everyone. No time to catch up. But, I'm still trying to organise a going away party for Nanou. Can everyone go visit Nanou's leaving do thread and put your final vote on the dates of 24th Aug. and 7th Sept. Then, tonigh tI'll talk to Nanou and ask her to pick a date.

Thanks.

No idea where it will be yet, but probably somewhere convenient to Ealing since that's where Nanou lives, and it her party so I figure it should be close to her.

Kewcumber · 10/08/2007 12:51

Yingers74 · 10/08/2007 14:53

Mellow, no can't make kew although might try another day because had a friend over. It sounds pretty cool though and my dds love sand!

I did not realise that Nanou was leaving, where are you going?

ComeOVeneer · 10/08/2007 16:43

Hi all, just back from a lovely day at Bushy park with 2 very tired children. Actually ds fell asleep in the car on the way home and is still sparko. We met up with some of the mums and children from dd's school and enjoyed the sunshine, but it was very crowded.

ComeOVeneer · 10/08/2007 16:46

Ele I have sent you an email. Actually I sent you one earlier in the week but I guess you didn't get it. I'm afraid I double booked us for tomorrow and dd has a birthday party to go to, so I'm afraid we can't make the cinema. We will have to try aain in September when we are back from America. I am really sorry about that. I am usually really careful about plans, but I wrote it down on the wrong day (I put the party in on Sunday instead of Saturday). I hope your dd isn't too disappointed.

eleusis · 10/08/2007 17:09

I got it and replied. Did not get the one earlier in the week.

Anyone else fancy a trip to see Shrek in Kingston tomorrow? DD wil not forgive me if we don't go. She is 4 so anyone with a kid a similar age (or one who can sit through a movie) is most welcome to join me.

xoxo · 10/08/2007 18:35

sorry ele: have day with the in laws planned.

has anyone noticed my quandry earlier? no one replied
anyone have a nanny they are happy to share for one afternoon a week(wednesday)? assuming of course that nanny is happy to share too?

Kewcumber · 10/08/2007 19:33

sorry Oxo - I did see you query but no nanny so no solution really.

Kewcumber · 10/08/2007 19:49

I have a lovely new washing machine... so quiet

SushiMummy · 10/08/2007 20:04

Sorry, oxo. Mine goes to nursery. Hope you find a nanny to share soon.

QC, so which washing machine did you choose in the end?

Look forward to the mini meet up at Mellows tomorrow.

eleusis · 10/08/2007 20:30

Oxo,
I don't know why you are sorry. I'm going to Shrek and you are spending the day with in laws. Try to make the most of it.

Regarding your quandry, sorry, didn't see it earlier. I could possibly persuade my new nanny to help you out as a temporary measure. But as we discovered last time we visited this topic the combination of school runs is show stopper.

But, I could possibly put you in touch with someone wh omight entertain a share. But I don't know if one half day a week would be enough to make it economically feasible to justify the share. But, I'm happy to enquire for you if you wish.

2Cute · 11/08/2007 01:15

Sorry xoxo - Dunno any nannies.

Ele - Took DS to watch Shrek 3 on Tuesday (his first time in a cinema). I was surprised he sat through it all and enjoyed it. I was the one that was fed up because it is a let down compared to the other 2.

Sorry I missed you today mellow & Foxi. Hope you had a good time at the "beach".

We've had a manic day. Went to Brooklands Merc show room (a good visit if your kids love cars like my DS) to give the car in for a service. Then went into Central London as DS loves seeing all the sights and Hamleys. Didn't get back until 8.30! Had a friend round for dinner and am shattered now.

Have a good wknd all.
