Ah its fab! Its £2, starts at 9.30-11.30 and the kids have a great time.
We generally get there between 9.30/10ish. If you tell us a time we will wait at the enterance for you.
It will be so good to meet you at long last.

Donbean · 04/02/2005 18:46

Katemum · 10/02/2005 16:33

Hi, sorry to butt in, did post a message in chat but not sure if you will see it.

I live in Lancashire and come over to Blackpool quite a lot and I love the baby shop in Cleveley's. I want to ring them to see if they have a car seat in stock but cannot remember the name of the shop.
Please can you help?

Hope you all enjoy your meet-up

Zeldagirl · 10/02/2005 18:57

Hi Again

Sorry I haven't posted for a while. I live in South Shore Blackpool and have 2 girls aged 4 and 2.

I would love to make some new friends!
Mel

nikkim · 10/02/2005 19:13

Katemum - I think it is called babyworld

nikkim · 10/02/2005 19:13

Hi zelda girl I think we are arranging a meetup for next thursday!

bonniej · 11/02/2005 21:05

Hi again, Zeldagirl, I'm in South shore too not far from the Waterloo Hotel. Whereabouts are you? I'm always on the lookout for some new friends. I go to a local mum and tots which is quite good. We are due to meet up next Thursday (17th)at Stanley Park. I've missed soft play at Stanley for the last two weeks due to dd being ill first week and me not feeling great last week, but will definately be there for the meet up! As Donbean said it's great there and the kids really do love it, and we get a chance to have a good natter I've got my driving test on Tuesday so will hopefully drive up there (I usually walk and it takes me about half an hour) Hope to see you both there

OP posts:
nikkim · 11/02/2005 23:06

Is there an age limit on the soft play, dd is three and a half now is that ok?

nikkim · 11/02/2005 23:07

Good luck for tuesday.

I am afriad that I have been a pathetic girlie and given up the driving.

bonniej · 12/02/2005 13:13

nikkim, she'll be fine at soft play at 3 and a half. It's half term next week so I'm sure there'll be quite a few older children there. I'm really nervous about Tuesday. I've got a lesson on Monday and then an hour before my test on Tuesday. I've stopped and started myself countless times but hopefully will do it this time. If i fail I'm def going to put straight back in for it again. Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday

Donbean · 12/02/2005 15:16

GOOD LUCK Bonnie! Really really hope you pass, i will be thinking of you....
Glad we are all still on for Thursday, (it is on at half term.)
How about we all meet at the entrance at 9.45?
All welcome!
We missed you again this week Bonnie, hope you are feeling better now.
xx
ps there is "nursery world" and there is also that tiny second hand shop in Cleveleys which is fab, cant remember the name of it, will have a think.....

bonniej · 13/02/2005 10:44

thanks for the good luck message, Donbean. Will be so relieved if I pass. Just make sure you stay off the roads in Blackpool at 1.30pm on Tuesday. See you on Thursday xx

Hi Again

I live near the Arnold Medical Centre (on St Annes Rd). I think that is not far from you!.

Where is the mums & tots that you go to? I don't know where any groups are as I only moved here last July and I am just starting to find my way round.

bonniej · 13/02/2005 13:20

the mum and tots I go to is at Holy Cross church Hall which is on the corner near to Waterloo Medical Centre. It's been running for ages and is great. They don't charge but have a donation tin and you get a coffee and the children sit down for a biscuit and drink halfway through. Everyone there is really friendly and not at all cliquey (sp?) like some are. It's closed this Tuesday as it's half term but open again next week from 9.45am until 11.45am. You'd be very welcome

OP posts:
Zeldagirl · 13/02/2005 13:30

Hi Bonnie

I know what you mean about cliquey (?). My DD goes to Roseacre Nursery and the mums all stand in groups huddled together and I feel totally ignored!. Its been really hard to make friends because everyone already knows each other.

My 2 girls are 4 & 2. I will have to look on my map for that church!. I haven't even been to Stanley Park!.

Do you ever meet up in South Shore?. I like the Air Balloon.

Donbean · 14/02/2005 13:46

Zeldagirl, why dont you come to soft play on Thursday with your two.
Perhaps Bonnie could meet with you and you could walk up together OR should i say, why dont we meet at the car park after Bonnie has parked the car!!!!!!!
We would love to meet you all.

bonniej · 14/02/2005 14:41

that's a good idea,Donbean. i'd love some company on the walk! Even if i pass i might not be brave enough to drive on thursday as soft play will be well and truly finished by the time I park Let us know Zeldagirl and we can meet. It'd be great if we could all make it this week

OP posts:
bonniej · 14/02/2005 14:42

You also mentioned the air balloon. I've never been but I know they've got a mum and tots thing going on as one of the mums I know goes there. I'll have to find out when it's on. It's supposed to be quite good.

OP posts:
Zeldagirl · 14/02/2005 16:38

The only problem is that I don't have a clue how to get to Stanley Park and I don't know if my DD #1 would want to walk all that way!

I'm having a look at bus timetables at the mo' (as I don't drive either!) as the 2A bus goes right past my house and I think it goes near the park. I will see what I can do, but if not if we could try and arrange something in the South Shore bit?.

nikkim · 14/02/2005 21:10

if you look here all the bus routes a map are available, quite a few buses go near the park, although you want to make sure that you get off near the sports centre as it can be a trek and a half if you get off at the wrong side of the park!

nikkim · 14/02/2005 21:11

I used to go to the mums and tots at the air ballon with a friend, think it used to be friday and dd loved it.

bonniej · 15/02/2005 08:28

zeldagirl, getting to stanley can be difficult. There aren't any buses that run near my house up there so it's a case of walking.(it is a long way) My dd is in a pushchair though so it's a lot easier. Well, I have got my driving test today so fingers crossed. I probably won't be confident enough for driving up there this week but as soon as i get some practice in, I can pick you up It'd be great if you could come to the mum and tots next Tuesday (i'd meet you outside) and we could also meet for a coffee some other time as well. You can click on contact another talker and send me an email. We could maybe try out the air balloon as well.

OP posts:
Zeldagirl · 15/02/2005 08:57

You have all disproved my theory that Blackpool mums are not friendly!!

The problem is DD goes to nursery mon-fri from 9:30 to 11:30 so I wouldn't be able to go to soft play in the mornings every week.

Are there any near you Bonnie that are on in the afternoon as I could bring them both then? I've found out that there is a group at Lindale Church this morning and I am considering going along. I'm so scared . I only have my youngest DD today so i would be able to give her my full attention. Then again, she is full of a cold.

Can you think of any good places to meet up and have a coffee?

bonniej · 15/02/2005 17:22

hi zeldagirl, there is a new mum and tots opened around the corner from me that's on in the afternoons but I haven't been yet. It's on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. Might be worth a try. Where are you from? I'm not actually from Blackpool I moved here about six years ago from Croydon, Surrey. Did you pluck the courage up to go to the group near you? It took me weeks to go to mine but I was so glad I did and everyone was great straight away, but I know they're not all like that. I didn't pass my test today so will be walking to Stanley for a few more weeks to come, but have got it again soon. speak soonx

Zeldagirl · 15/02/2005 19:00

Hi Bonnie

Bad luck on not passing your test! I don't drive, I would be useless at it!. I'm not good under pressure!

I didn't go in the end. DD is full of a cold so I thought they would all growl at me if I walked in with a sick child!!

Would I be o.k going to a mums and tots with my 4 year old DD as well?

I'm originally from Stockport, then I moved to Manchester, then here in July last year. We nearly bought a house on Starbeck Avenue which is near Waterloo Road but it all fell through.
