faylisa I know how you feel!! DS was feeding 3 hourly - but is now feeding 2 hourly (growth spurt) - I'm a bit of a trapped slave here too atm.

Are you around on Thursday pm? I'm thinking of doing a picnic. It would be nice for the babies to meet

foxcub · 22/07/2007 14:41

Paddle - it was lovely to see you yesterday - feels as though I hadn't seen you properley for ages.

There is a mega sale on at Next BTW everyone - popped in there this morning at Kew Retail Park. Everything 50% or less!

StarryStarryNight · 22/07/2007 14:44

Oh, I just LOVE Kew Retail Park!
Not sure what I think if the new cafe in M&S, though... That nice lady with silver hair who was working there and kept bringing me water when I was BF'ing my dc's have been nowhere in sight since they refurbished.

stepfordwife · 22/07/2007 15:02

hi ya chaps
how you all diddling?
stuck at my computer "working." yeah, right...

yep, dd has mastered opening the front door, too, makes me feel mum of the year when i'm chasing her down the street. we were at our neighbours having drinkies yesterday, heard wailing outside the front door, opened it and, yep, there she was dh was meant to be watching her, that's all i can say..

am actually quite responsible, in fact a tad over-protective..honest!

did you buy anything, foxie?

starry - was it you who said your dh goes to india a lot for work? mine too. he's due a trip to mumbai in sep and i suggested delaying it until half-term so we can all go..not sure if it's a good idea or not but i'm so curious about this alternative life he's got and i want to see the office.his hotel/people he talks about. anyhow, probably won't be going en masse, when we find out how much it'll cost us. (unless i can comer up with a plausible reason why his dp and 3 kids should come with him courtesy of the company, of course..)
toodlepip

StarryStarryNight · 22/07/2007 15:35

Hi Stepfordwife,
Yes I am the one with a husband working in India a lot. The office is in Bangalore, and we have a 2 bed flat next to it which is great. We havent been out there with my youngest, as he has respiratory problems (Laryngomalacia), and Bangalore has extreme air polution problems. It is fine if we just stay at home, or take the chauffeur in an aircon car, but if I go out and use rickshaws it is intolerable with young kids. You probably will have to ensure your husbands company include aircon car and driver in the budget.... Doubt Mumbai is less polluted, as cars mostly have leaded petrol engines.

How often is your husband going?

I am in the process of finding a new au pair. When the last one left I seriously thought I would cope on my own, ha bloody ha, not.

foxcub · 22/07/2007 19:57

Oh I am very very now.!!

Why can't I have a husband who works away a lot somewhere exotic like India - with a pad there too???

Starry if I cultivate you and we become bestest friends can I come on holiday there?

Don't worry I jest...

Steppy - I bought two fabby things - gorgeous camisole and kind of diaphanooousmouse {sp !!!!} tie front toppy hippy thingy. Plus beautiful cream crinkly hippy blouse with lots of ruffles and stitching and stuff. they only had size 18 of the latter but its still gorgeous!!

Did mega walk today as I am worried about being "trapped" in the house for the next few weeks!!

Steppy where R U going for your hols - tell me so I can enjoy it by proxy as I still have not got my passport renewal in the post!!

Tuesday is set for great weather - anyone up for Kew gardens/River walk/Richmond Park and Petersham playground or a general playground crawl?

Kewcumber · 22/07/2007 20:00

I'm BAA-AACK.

Kewcumber · 22/07/2007 20:01

Did you miss me?

stepfordwife · 22/07/2007 20:13

oh , kew..
have you been away?

stepfordwife · 22/07/2007 20:13

lovely time?

stepfordwife · 22/07/2007 20:16

starry - he goes about 3-5 times a year now, so probably not as often as your dh. hmm, better ask him about the the air-con car and driver

foxie - but you're a size 12 now, woman! (cow) we're off to brittany. camping. well, in a mobile home, that is. i don't do tents

foxcub · 22/07/2007 20:22

Steppy - IKWYM about tents! How very, very uncivilised

Lurve Brittany though!

Kew - how was your weekend on the Island?

I have some very old friends who have a (globe) shop in Ryde. They live in that house your sister looked and co-incidentally, I bumped into them on Thursday! S'posed to be going there for tea tomorrow (Kew not IoW), but now sure if it, or I, will materialise ...

Paddlechick666 · 22/07/2007 20:31

er foxie, i think you're doing alright with a bloke who can sand corners!

i'd be up for something on Tuesday arvo. supposedly mortgage guy is coming tuesday morning.

had a lovely arvo at kew beach today. once again i end up entertaining about 4 kids who're all pushing dd to one side while i made sand cakes so they could squash them. treading all over me and one started calling me mummy! ffs, their blimmin parents are sitting around quaffing drinks and picnics while i turn into ms playworker!

serious family envy! wish i could just stay in all day at weekends sometimes.

wb QC, how was it?

stepfordwife · 22/07/2007 20:38

never been to brittany, so looking forward to it muchly

paddle - lol at 'ms playworker.' slap a childcare bill on the quaffing parents, that'll teach 'em..

already meeting up with friends at kew gdns on tuesday...but might well bump into you

toodlepip

foxcub · 22/07/2007 20:43

LOL at "doing alright with a bloke who can sand corners"

foxcub · 22/07/2007 20:44

Steppy - make sure you go to Dinan [sp?} its very very pretty!

Eats loads of those crepe things too!

StarryStarryNight · 22/07/2007 21:12

Steppy ( am I in the crowd now that I guess the short forms? lol)
We just bought our first mobile home and will be bumming it through Europe in August!

foxcub · 22/07/2007 21:53

Starry - a mobile home and a flat in India!!???

Will you be my bestest friend? [sincere emoticon]

StarryStarryNight · 22/07/2007 21:59

ha ha ha foxcub, sure you can [sincere emoticon]

You havent seen our campervan, it is 16 years old! It is a small Ford Transit conversion!

You know, I have invited my friends to either come visit when we are there, or to just go use the flat! Free accommodation, etc, whats not to like??
Maybe my many trials and tribulations whilst there have put people off, along with my long graphic emails about cows and goats, ants, and monkeys stealing clothes from washing lines, dust and howling rabid dogs in the night? Who knows what it could be...

mellow2 · 22/07/2007 22:02

Hi Rosmerta,

Sorry I didn't get back to you. I've been out all day. I'll text you tomorrow to find out the best time to come.

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 22/07/2007 22:05

yes lovely time. Weather wasn;t too bad. Poured every monring for about an hour then cleared up reasonably well. DS didn;t sleep well and was scared of the bath there but has gone out like a light this evening - hoping he sleeps until 7am tomorrow as I am severely sleep deprived.

Finally got some camcorder footage of him being cute and roaming the grounds...

My boss said he drove through Richmond Firday and the rain was half wya up the side of his car . Was it raining here then?

StarryStarryNight · 22/07/2007 22:08

Kewcumber, was it raining?
WAS IT EVER!? Never saw it worse....

foxcub · 22/07/2007 22:15

Kew - it was mega flooding here on Friday!!!

Imagine, we had hired a bouncy castle for DD's birthday party with her school friends!

was I stressed?

Yeseroonie!!

Starry it would take more than a few cowpats to put me off!!
