Does anyone know the actual name of the local paper that covers Brentford, Richmond and Twickenham? Can't be asked to go to the shop to look it up.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 18/07/2007 17:12

there is the Richmond and Twickenham times

hi amidawish welcome

CescaD · 18/07/2007 17:59

Hello - we're moving out to TW10 next month with our 3.5 month old baby. Anyone got suggestions for fun places to go and things to do in the area with a small baby?

mellow2 · 18/07/2007 18:24

That's it! Thx, sfx.

What a lovely afternoon. I got a haircut, which made me feel human again. I also went to Syon Park with dd.

Ros,
Would you like to go to Syon Park together some time? Everytime I'm there, I think I should ask you to come. I normally go around 5 pm but we could try to go earlier if that would suit you better.

Steppie,
I remember QC mentioned that you work for a newspaper? Is that right?

sfxmum · 18/07/2007 18:27

hi cesca if i remember when dd was that small i spent huge amounts of time at kew gardens come ti think of it i still do today

eleusis · 18/07/2007 18:29

Hi Cesca. Welcome! See Amida there are loads of newbies today.

Where is TW10?

CescaD · 18/07/2007 18:45

Thanks for the welcome. We're moving to Ham. Between Richmond and Kingston. Love Kew Gdns but reckon will probably be in Richmond Park a lot more as it is literally on the doorstep.

I did live in Richmond years ago, but was young, footloose and fancy free and my main interests were drinking lots and trying not to fall in the river.

foxcub · 18/07/2007 18:51

Hi Cesca and Amida

TW10 is the parts of Richmond around R Hill, Petersham and Ham

I have DS 7, DD nearly 4 and DS 4.5 months. I'm around over the summer if anyone wants to meet up - school breaks up Friday - Hurrah!!!

foxcub · 18/07/2007 18:52

Ele I e-mailed nanou but got no response.

Now I have lost my mobile phone , which seems to have been sucked into a black hole somewhwre in this house

ComeOVeneer · 18/07/2007 18:57

Has my invite been rejected then? welcome all newbies. We actually had a pretty good day weather wise so have done some gardening and started to sort out the kitchen so I can box it all up before the builders come.

foxcub · 18/07/2007 18:57

Well Monti and I are on for 11th. He can't wait!

mellow2 · 18/07/2007 18:59

Hi foxie,

I would like to come round for a visit. I'm really tired of being stuck in front of my computer working on the website, especially when the sun is shining.

Let me know when you're free.

HAve started potty training with ds as he needs to be out of nasppies by the time he starts nursery in Sept. He had some nappy off time today with the potty close at hand, ds announced "my botty's hot" then proceeded to poo on the floor .

StarryStarryNight · 18/07/2007 20:11

Wow, lots of newbies to this thread today then?

Stepford, my son goes to school in Mortlake! Seem to be dividing myself between Putney, Mortlake and East Sheen these days!

I love Richmond park, we seem to go cycling there nearly every weekend, and have just discovered the new path connecting Petersham Gate with the rest, and the playground by Petersham Gate! Bliss! Perfect for a picnic stop in the middle! We normally come through Wimbledon common (if I am up for a 16 mile ride, LOL)

I am always up for meet ups, and drinking sessions!

foxcub · 18/07/2007 20:16

Starry - my DD's nursery spent all day on Monday picnicking in Petersham Playground - it was lovely

Mellow - am around next week. I'd love to do a picnic on Thursday if its sunny. Its DD's birthday so we could have a birthday cake etc.

If you fancy popping over for a cuppa, I'm around Tues/Weds with no plans.

I want to share this with you: DS1's school sent his school books home for our perusal. In his RE book he had to illustrate "what it is like if we follow God's word":

he drew a picture of two lovely stick figures next to a big sign saying: "TESCO"

Paddlechick666 · 18/07/2007 20:19

foxie, that is a classic!

i've got the IFA coming Tuesday morning but am around Tuesday arvo if anyone else is?

housefull tonight and i am bunking in with dd - fingers crossed she doesn't wake up!

Kewcumber · 18/07/2007 20:23

could have been worse/better (depending on your perspective) Foxie - he could have labelled it Tesco Mecca

My brother when he was a similar age did a picture which was ut up on the walls at school fr parents evening (which was the first my mum knew of it) which had a small and a large stickj figure and a long thing between them and a caption saying

"Daddy and I stealing wood from the building site"

Apparently my dad had permission to take some offcuts to build some shelves or somehting.

Kewcumber · 18/07/2007 20:25

DS is lying in his cot next door alternately making singing noises and loud choking strangling noises. Then laughing.

They're all strange at this age... aren't they [hopeful emoticon]?

Am sticking him in the car at 8pm tomorrow and driving down to IOW hoping he will sleep all the way and on the ferry crossing (plan on staying in the car) [fingers crossed emoticon]

amidaiwish · 18/07/2007 21:25

hi all,
thanks for the welcome

mellow2 · 18/07/2007 21:30

Foxie,

That's really funny.

A picnic sounds lovely. If the weather forecast for Thursday doesn't promise sunshine, I'll probably come round on Wed as SIL is coming to ours next Tue. Dh is going to take pics of his nephew modelling a boy's t-shirt for our site.

I hope Matthew will have the patience to sit for the shoot. He's only 3.

OP posts:
rosmerta · 18/07/2007 21:34

evening all

Kew, ds routinely goes to sleep just after 7 and then will wake up after about 45mins to have a bit of a sing/chat/giggle and clap his hands and then go back to sleep!

Could I come along to meet up as well? I'm free Tues & Weds pm. Hopefully the weather will be like today!

faylisa · 18/07/2007 21:36

Hi everyone. Quick question... has anyone been to the One O'Clock club in Marble Hill? Is it suited to a very active 21 mo? And really stupid question - I assume, from the name, that it starts at one o'clock, is that right???

mellow2 · 18/07/2007 21:40

QC,

I remembered once when my aunt was babysitting us, she fell face first on a wet bathroom floor. One of my brothers was screaming as he was playing being gunned down by his toy soldiers.

OP posts:
mellow2 · 18/07/2007 21:44

Dd sleep talks even though all she says is food in Chinese and baby in English.

OP posts:
eleusis · 18/07/2007 21:46

COV, I only questioned the plan for your house because that thread you said you were going to start never popped up and I thought maybe plans had changed and possibly I missed it. Although I don't know how I could miss anything with the amount of time I have spent not working in the last couple of days.

So, Amida, if you still want to go work out with me and then head over to COV's I'm more than happy to do that. I believe the plan is for 11th Aug. I expect there will be a thread soon (hint hint COV)
