Hi all I am still happy to host, but am away the weekend of the 4th. Can do the following Saturday the 11th. Happy to make a load of canapes/starters and desserts, you guys bring the wine. How does that sound?

eleusis · 16/07/2007 21:43

That sounds like a great plan. I'm in for the 11th (pending approval from DH who is increasing miffed at my increasingly busy social life)

Sue, you make me laugh. You haven't been to Atyrau, have you?!?!? The airport is a little shack, and I mean shack. There is no store. You can't even buy a map. Nobody speaks English. I will be of maybe 3 women on the flight from Amsterdamn. Last time I was at the fron of the queue to baord the plane. I look back and suddenly ther was a swarm of fat white men. Memories of Texas and I thought to myself, good God where am I going? However, if I see a flag I will gladly procure it for the lovely gerkin. But, trust, Atyrau is in fact the back of beyond.

eleusis · 16/07/2007 21:44

Welcome, Faylisa.

Can everyone who is interested in the Christmas Meet-up please find her way over to the Christmas meet up thread.

foxcub · 16/07/2007 21:46

Hi everyone - Oxo are congratulations in order for chucking in your job then? It did sound as though it was a bit of a poisoned chalice from what you said before. Its a shame we don't do the same thing or we could job share, as I want to reduce my days to 3 . [half joking half serious]

Poor Andrew Wakefield is the victim od a very blatant dirty tricks campaign IMO, which stretches from feeding the media stories about him, to much more sinister activities like the Dept of Health carrying out raids on DH2000 clinics and removing all their patient files (that includes you and me Steppy...)

The point is that all he's every said is that more research is needed, as some (a very small number) children are at risk of being damaged.

Seeing as the government has paid compensation to several families with MMR damaged kids, he's actually not wrong IFSWIM.

Anyhow.....Kew I'd love to come to that event next year too - it sound amazing!! Did you say there were no falcons there?

I'm desperate for a girls night out...well actually just desperate to get rat arsed, but its a bit tricky to leave Monti atm. I don't have the energy to invite everyone over to mine either...or rather have no time/energy to tidy up afterwards LOL!

Kew - I did e-mail nanou but she hasn't responded unless in the last 48 hrs (haven't hasd time to check yet)

Paddle - put that bloody offer in girl. You can always withdraw it!!!

foxcub · 16/07/2007 21:48

CoV - oops sorry missed your offer - I can do 11th. Could I bring DS2 so I can feed him? I could give lifts to/from Kew.

BTW spent a fab day picnicking with DD's nursery at petersham Playground all day. Was very stressed with too many jobs to do, so I did a Steppy and did all my business by mobile phone while lounging on a rug eating strawberries

ComeOVeneer · 16/07/2007 21:57

Of course ds2 is welcome. TBH I think he is an expected guest as these do's .

mellow2 · 16/07/2007 22:06

Welcome faylisa. I've got a 14-mth old dd and I live in Brentford.

Paddlechick666 · 17/07/2007 07:58

morning all

i definately need someone who can do alterations. any recommendations?

dd slept a bit later this morning again which would've been great except for the fishwife screeching next door at 6:30am!

going for another look at the flat this morning.

hi faylisa, i'm in isleworth with dd 21 months. soon to be moving tho.

Kewcumber · 17/07/2007 09:22

stepfordwife · 17/07/2007 09:33

morning lads

hope you're all diddling well
welcome faylisa and congrats on your new bambino. i've got ds1, 7, ds2, 6, and dd, 2

well done oxo, for leaving your job. on the limited info at my disposal (uncorks a bottle of red..) sounds like it was the right decision. just think, now you can enjoy all those school holidays. i've (nearly) decided not to take on any work during the hols.

paddle - btw..one can ALWAYS justify having a cleaner

thanks cov, would love to come on the 11th. (was the goldfish - RIP - missed?) if you've got room, foxie, could i please take you up on your offer of a lift?

lol at "doing a steppy"...actually that's exactly where i'm off to now..to the cappuccino shop to do my calls. just gives it that extra professiional touch, i feel, when people can hear the cappo machine gurgling away in the background....

toodlepip

rosmerta · 17/07/2007 09:33

Just a quick one to say hello!

Welcome Faylisa, I'm in Brentford with 17 month ds.

stepfordwife · 17/07/2007 09:36

foxie, i don't lounge on a rug eating strawberries though..i do have some professional standards, you know

Kewcumber · 17/07/2007 09:37

really?

stepfordwife · 17/07/2007 09:37

...if the strawberries were in a glass of champagne, though, that's a different matter..

stepfordwife · 17/07/2007 09:40

nah, course not, kew. don't tell anyone..
notice a ladder outside your mum's front door..wonder how many times she'll have to stop your ds trying to climb it.

stepfordwife · 17/07/2007 09:44
