Almost made it to the end of the month. Children are gone. I am free until Sunday lunch

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 04/06/2007 16:05

think Ele might have one when she's around

Paddlechick666 · 04/06/2007 16:07

but i thought your ds liked pink?

try siiters.co.uk cara, i haven't used them but they get a good rep from various MN-ers.

also, Oxo knows someone who does some babysitting too. ele's nanny might be interested as well.....

stepfordwife · 04/06/2007 16:07

taste? a somewhat over-rated attribute, i think...

stepfordwife · 04/06/2007 16:10

caraloony, know what you're saying. going out twice a year (together. at the same time) is about our average, actually. and people wonder why i watch crap TV....

foxcub · 04/06/2007 16:19

Remember when we used to be young free Mums of two steppy and we used tio abbysit for each other?

[whispers, "some people will do anything for a bottle of sparkling chardonnay"...)

foxcub · 04/06/2007 16:20

"too babysit"...[ahem]

Caraloony · 04/06/2007 16:21

Thanks guys - paddle, that site's great - I've already registered! Knew there'd have to be something like that around but it's good to know it comes recommended too...

stepfordwife - I think it was you that admitted to a penchant for BB - let me say, I'm with you, sister. I LOVE all that stuff, and am not sure whether it's because I don't go out, or whether I don't go out because crap TV keeps me happy. The one thing I miss BIG time is Survivor (the US version) which I was religious about watching in Oz, but they don't seem to show it here. Just as well you can't buy it as a podcast or I'd never leave the house.

xoxo · 04/06/2007 16:48

just found this

am playing on MN as kiddies are watching lazytown. Why make up a children's programme with guilt built iunto the title?

DS is doing the most disgusting farts; have just banned him to the other sofa and donned gas mask. I blame his father

PC: wellies ready when you are.

Must go cook dinner. nutritional, with no baked beans....

xoxo · 04/06/2007 16:50

Steppy: my ex nanny, and current nanny both do babysitting. I can give you their numbers if you CAT me.

Eleusis · 04/06/2007 17:08

My lovely nanny is off to greener pastures at the end of the month. She is off to a job in Istanbul. I have new nanny arriving on 4th July, starting work on the 9th. Once she gets settled in and used to the area, I'm happy to share her (when I don't need her). But, it's a bit soo to offer her services since I haven't even met her yet.

Is this the current list? Please add/subtract as appropriate so we can settle on a date:

June 14 (Thurs)
Eleusis
COV
Foxcub
Stepford

June 15 (Fri)

June 16 (Sat)

Eleusis · 04/06/2007 17:10

Oh, and I also use sitters.co.uk when nanny is not available.

foxcub · 04/06/2007 17:22

XoXo - baked beans are nutritional aren't they???

Paddlechick666 · 04/06/2007 17:44

oxo, completely forgot wellies! sorry!

got swim nappies this arvo so looks like we're on for an adventure tomorrow.

sfx, will text in case you don't get back on here later.

ele, carla's looking for someone in June so thought your nanny might still be interested.....

istanbul eh? lucky girl!

xoxo · 04/06/2007 18:31

Foxy: beans are nutritional but when combined with ds' natural ability to single - 'handedly' destroy the residual oizone over west london, it's a bit of a disaster .
I had to stop the car this afternoon and get out to breathe.

Again, I blame the father.

xoxo · 04/06/2007 18:34

Did you gals know it's the Twickenham festival next week and they do al fresco eating down Church St? Usually fab.
I don't think I'll be able to go to this one as pennies are low and I've committed to a friends night out, but teh Church St thingy is great (if nice weather)

Kewcumber · 04/06/2007 19:19

might be tempted by that Oxo if the weather good though parking in twickeham is a bit of a mare isn;t it.

DS has grizzled non-stop since I picked him up from CM and has gone staright to bed after a 2 minute bath as he cried through that too . Has a hacking cough, please don't let him be ill again, don't think my nerves can stand it! How do people cope when their kids are seriously ill?

foxcub · 04/06/2007 19:49

KewC - DS2 is sick too, he has a snotty nose, red eyes and a ickle cough

Oxo - DS2 farts for England!!

Caraloony · 05/06/2007 07:38

Hey lasses, have conferred with DH and he can brave it alone on any of the night out dates so I'm in...

Thanks all for the sitters.co.uk tip - they called back within a few hours and I've got a confirmed booking. Bloody hell - two nights out in two weeks??? Brazen strumpet or what!

Paddlechick666 · 05/06/2007 08:03

no can do night out this month i'm afraid ladies.

coffers are exceedingly low.....

foxcub · 05/06/2007 10:16

mornin' all

Kewcumber · 05/06/2007 12:30

busy busy working...

DS slept all night (though woke at 5.45 as has become little treasures habit) and cough doesn't seem to be any worse so fingerts crossed its just a normal cold (again!)

foxcub · 05/06/2007 13:57

where is everyone?

Nanou1 · 05/06/2007 14:08

hi guys! sorry pure madness at the mo with work / home & fair to organise. so i'd come and have a rant..... if i may....

stepfordwife · 05/06/2007 14:09

hi all
busy working (even busier shirking) but just popping in to say 'hello'

foxie....yes, indeedy, feel quite nostalgic about those days when we were young whippersnapper mum-of-2s...ooohhhhh must have only been in our late 30s, eh? very slack of us not to move in to the same street. did either of us ever actually drink that bottle of sparkling? must be vintage by now..

kc..hope daniel's cold gets better soon.

caraloony, hmm re BB , must say not warming to the rash of hysterical girlies in the house. but always more interesting when the numbers get smaller. have got a video of latest australian bb which MIL tape for me..haven't had a chance to watch it, but can lend it to you sometime if you fancy..(you did say you were australian, right?)

don't people in open-top cars look smug?
sorry, just a random thought that popped up. apologies to anyone who's got an open-top..you smug person, you
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 05/06/2007 14:17

and thanks xoxo for offer of babysitter nos..ok at mo as neighbour has just got au-pair who's up for babysitting. the real truth, of course, is can't be arsed to go out with dh. all that getting the kids to bed, putting on make-up and getting "dolled up" just for dh...do me a favour?!
