Happy Malaysian mum's day too! I had actually forgotten until my mom reminded me.

Don't worry Quoks. The kids will be fine. They'll take to it like a duck to water.

well I must admit I went off the idea of getting a landed house by cobras in the garden . Just got used to the idea that spiders and snakes can't kill you here and I have to retrain myself again for s'pore

Paddlechick666 · 13/05/2007 10:04

quokka, was just going to say at least you could console yourself with the thought that dh was getting pissed on LOL!

strongly suggest he take you out for lunch.

sue, good on your mum eh!

i'm considering S&L @ Syon this arvo, the weather is just too disgusting.

mellow2 · 13/05/2007 10:04

Sue,
Which African country did you live in?

OP posts:
quokka · 13/05/2007 10:04

I'll always remember it because ds1 was born on mothers day

Paddlechick666 · 13/05/2007 10:04

off to tesco now - oh joy!

mellow2 · 13/05/2007 10:09

I think cobras are more an urban myth than anything. Even when we lived in houses in rural parts of Malaysia all you got were green snakes and iguanas. The monkeys were fun though.

I'm sure you don't get iguanas and monkeys popping into your garden in urban Singapore.

Happy birthday, young master quokka!

OP posts:
suejonez · 13/05/2007 10:32

Mellow we were in Zambia - my Dad worked in the copper mines.

Happy birthday Quokkason

Paddle - not going to Foxie's school fair this arfo? I think they'll have in in the hall so will be dry and you can always come and trash my (now slightly tidier) house afterwards

quokka · 13/05/2007 10:34

well thats what I thought mellow, but friends we know have had 6 this year already! I think thats because they have a dog so he lets them know about it. They even had one in the sunshade of the buggy - when she pulled it down it was sitting right above her dd's head who was strapped in the buggy .

pudding77 · 13/05/2007 10:54

Hi all, we lost our internet connection so haven't been able to get on MN!

Glad the walk went well, liked the photos!

Don't know what we're going to do the rest of the day, might go buy a new front door (how exciting!).

Ele - sorry to hear things aren't great, hope you pick up soon.

mellow2 · 13/05/2007 11:19

Quoks,
That's rather bad luck. I've seen pythons but not many cobras in the garden when I was growing up.

Morning All

Think we will go tto the fair about 2pm, as DS2 has a feed due at just after 1pm......

would be good to see you later. Text me anyone, if you want the address...they've got some good stuff there - saw ity in the hall Friday arvo

Quoks - happy birthday to your DS1

Its natural for you to get the worries - Sue is right though - the boys security is more to do with their family than a geog place - otherwise they'd hate holidays!!

My DS1 when he was about 2 used to think w'ed moved abroad each time we went on holiday - thought the hotel was our new home and that mummy and daddy didn't have to work anymore

Paddlechick666 · 13/05/2007 12:10

will try to put dd down before or at least by 1pm so could prob get to the fair about 2:30ish i guess.

got to get out of the house - dd is being very demanding!

suejonez · 13/05/2007 12:53

Whether I make it or not will entirely depend on whether DS is going to revert to his normal 1.5 hrs or go for another marathn of 2.5 hrs. However have got him down bit earlier today so may make about 3pm. Will text you both. Paddle come over to mine anyway afterwards, bring tea with you if you like, DS is just going to have remnants for tea but you're welcome to hang out here for a while if she needs distracting

Paddlechick666 · 13/05/2007 13:07

hi sue

well she's just gone down, am hoping for an hour at the least! maybe 1.5 if i'm lucky.

the weather is disgusting!

i'll prob just bring her home for tea - too lazy to carton stuff up LOL. am also toying with the idea of eating with her

will speak on text later. will text foxie now.

pudding77 · 13/05/2007 13:36

Would anyone like to meet up next week?

foxcub · 13/05/2007 13:44

Will probably go Tuesday am

Paddlechick666 · 13/05/2007 17:12

great to see the Fox Family tho, ds2 is growing so fast and really filling out. such a cutie.

would love the handbag thing but am off to visit a friend in deepest darkest Denmark Hill or something LOL!

pud, not around till next Tuesday now, sorry.

sue, hope those trousers come up clean LOL

pudding77 · 13/05/2007 17:54

no worries paddle, just thinking we don't seem to have had a mn daytime meet in ages!

Foxie - I'm around Weds pm and Thurs am

suejonez · 13/05/2007 19:20

I may have to put the trousers in an incinerator Paddle - even at this age how is he such a boy and your DD such a girl. She behaved quite nicely whilst everytime I let him roam he headed straigt for the muddy flower beds.

MrsR - DS has grown out of a few tops (some of which Eleusis gave me) do you want them, some quite nice blokey rugby shirts?

foxcub · 13/05/2007 19:52

Paddle - don't forget your passport and bullet-proof vest on Tues!!!

...bandit country...

MrsRecycle · 13/05/2007 20:04

Hi Sue - you just caught me catching up after my wet and drunken weekend away. I've remembered to bring the Tequila back for Quokka's leaving do. ds is in age 6-9 months now, if you have any clothes, that would be great.

Quokka - happy birthday to ds1!!

Ele - have a good old moan on Wednesday, I'm all ears.

SamLou - nice to meet you - I'm in Ruislip and meet up in Kew every couple of weeks. If you want a lift, I drive past Perivale. I have a 9 dd1, 6 dd2 and 8m ds.

Foxie - it's half term the week after next, do you still want to come to the caravan? If so what days are best for you, bearing in mind its a Bank Holiday on the Monday.

Well my news - ds has his first tooth or [ouch] as still bf-ing!! Also, dh has been amazing, he went to football today for the first time in years and booked tomorrow off work so that he can get totally drunk tonight. He's just rang and he's on his way back home as he feels guilty as I'm not feeling well and have had a lot on my plate the last week. Argh bless him. He's also going to do the school run tomorrow so I can have a lie-in.

But the best bit of news is that if new AP is around on 26th, he's going to drop me off and pick me up so I can have a drink.

Would love to come to the hand-bag sale on Tuesday foxie, but the school is shutting for a half day and I'm looking after a few of the pupils as their parents can't get away from work.
