New thread as the old one has run out of room.

good lord mellow! i'd have been freaked out if she slept that long!

well, i eventually woke her up about 8:10 altho she was pretty much there herself by then.

she immediately hopped into my bed and snuggled down again.

getting in mummy's bed is a new thing for her - she looks sooo cute with all her golden curls on the pillow and the duvet pulled up to her chin.

and she's woken is such a happy mood - she obviously wore herself out yesterday.

bless her.

stepfordwife · 29/04/2007 10:24

good morning all!

foxie - you did a grand job getting all those kids back to your place, home, fed and returned home safely..presumably!

paddle and mellow - blimey o'reilly. if any of my brood slept that late i'd be callng in the paramedics..however late they go to bed, 6am and that's it. wide awake. well, reckon ds2 would sleep later if he got a chance..he (and i) live in hope.

paddle - that image of dd in bed with you is so sweet. have similar scenes with my dd but she usually blows her nose in my hair or something to shatter the cuteness of it all!

pudding77 · 29/04/2007 12:03

busy weekend so far, picked up our bikes yesterday and went for a ride. Ds loved his bike seat and was giggling away, esp going over bumps etc! And we have a 2yr old's b'day party this pm - cue lord of the flies!

Paddle - I'd definitely be up for the green fair! Sounds great, best get saving up!

Oh, and if ds sleeps late I never wake him up, just let him sleep as long as he likes!

pudding77 · 29/04/2007 12:09

MrsR - next Thursday would be ok as long as its in the morning? Ds has his lunch around 11.30 and then goes for a nap.

MrsRecycle · 29/04/2007 12:15

ds and dds all slept til 8.30am this morning. So a nice and refreshed Mum.

puds - probably couldn't get there until 10.45am - is that too late?

pudding77 · 29/04/2007 12:21

That's fine with me!

sfxmum · 29/04/2007 12:49

hello all

dd sometimes sleeps till 9 which is quite nice but then again she sometimes goes to bed at 9-10.
i love watching her sleep

hope you are all ok, that fair sound nice.
we are still deciding between going to Latitude festival or Womad but we will do some camping this year.

still no internet or phone it is very inconvinient i need to do some shopping, whatever did i do before?

foxcub · 29/04/2007 14:37

sfx - if you like Womad, you'll like the fair

puds - PMSL at Lord of the Flies - so true! DS1 has a party at 4-6pm today

paddle - sorry we didn't make Chiswick - slept till 10am, fled to church, fled to buy a 7 yr old bot pressie, fled back to feed DS2 and now want to make some lunch (no time for brekkie)

Mine will sleep until 10am if they stay up alte the night before. They still need cabout 11 hours generally

suejonez · 29/04/2007 22:07

Ds is sick luckily my next door neighbour is a doctor and came out to see to him. Has a very high temperature and can't swallow, even liquids, she has given me nurofen to alternate with the calpol and if he isn't drinking by the morning have to take him to hospital. Poor mite won't sleep except next to, or on top of, me which doesn't help his temperature. I'm grabbing a minute now while he sleeps in my bed but no work for me tomorrow I don't think.

Foxie - think you mught know her - she goes to your church and took a group to lourdes recently?

stepfordwife · 29/04/2007 22:24

hi sue..poor ds and poor you. such a worry when they're like that, isn't it? lots of cuddles for him and a sleepless night for you...

sure you're probably already doing this, but sponging ds down with a flannel soaked in tepid water can help bring his temperature down.

hope he gets better soon...

Paddlechick666 · 30/04/2007 06:50

oh no sue, how is he today? how was your night?

lucky you for having a dr next door. the nurofen is supposed to be more effective at keeping the temp down for longer.

hope he's on the mend today. am WFH so let me know if there's anything I can do.

pudding77 · 30/04/2007 09:01

Sue, how's ds today? Hope his temp came down a bit

suejonez · 30/04/2007 10:57

predictably awful night but he seems a bit better this morning and has tolerated a little water and chewed on a few grapes so think he is probably on the mend. Had a frighteningly high temp overnight but am hoping that the worst is over (fingers crossed), he probably has a viral throat infection GP next door says there is a lot of it about. Hope he hasn't given it to your DD Paddle

foxcub · 30/04/2007 11:18

[big hugs] Sue and DS

Sue hope he improves today. let me know if I can do anything or if you waant me to pick up any meds from sainsburys later

I propably do knwo your neighhbour...

MrsRecycle · 30/04/2007 11:37

Oh Sue sorry to hear about ds - glad he seems to be taking a few liquids.

Paddlechick666 · 30/04/2007 12:05

sue, glad he's picking up today. must've been a rough night for you both.

also, selfishly, hope dd hasn't caught it, but if she has then she has. you can't avoid these things.

actually, even more selfishly, i really hope I haven't caught it! first time in weeks I've felt well LOL.

proud mummy moment - CM just texted to say that dd has uttered the word "please"! i have been trying to encourage her for weeks.

we've had ghost and whale and doodle recently but not a whiff of a please and thank-you.

so, big progress! bit it was with CM but that's the downside of working. the upside being food and a roof over your head!

sfxmum · 30/04/2007 18:38

hello allstill no connected here

sue sorry to hear, it is always a worry, hope ds on the mend and you manage some sleep.

paddle - thats so sweet, dd used to grab our glasses and would not give them back until we said please

dd continues with her train obsession and it shows signs of getting worst

hope you are all ok, off to pool tomorrow i think.

suejonez · 30/04/2007 19:00

I've put Ds to bed absolutely screaming and still refusing a bottle but he is at least on food again (albeit ice cream)

suejonez · 30/04/2007 19:17

and I felt so bad that I have just gone bak in and persevered at getting him to drink some milk - decided he couldn;t go another night with no proper liquids. He did take about 4oz which is more than he's had all day - and not screaming at least. Have a feeling its going to be another long night. How do people cope when their children are seriously ill, its scary enough when it sjust a temperature and throat infection.

2Cute · 30/04/2007 20:13

Sue - Poor DS Hope he recovers quickly. You're obviously doing it already but Docs always tend to say stop the milk and give water/juices as much as possible. I used to think he must atleast some milk but have always been advised against it.

MrsB - Sorry we won't be able to make it to your house warming. We're going away with friends to Longleat for the wk/nd. We could've gone to Europe for the amount this place is charging to go this weekend!!

Hope everyone is well.

MrsR - Any more from the paed about your DS?
