Lovely to meet you alliwannadoo and mts at grandmas yesterday. yes george did come down with a horrible temperature in the afternoon which explained his incredible whinginess! the baby had his jabs and also had a temperature and lovely husband got food poisoning. so it was fun and games round my house last night .... i would love to come to grandmas again alliwannadoo butnext week my mum is off on holiday (cheek of her and so i have both of them and don't think I could handle grandmas with george running around and keeping an eye on the baby too, so i might have to make it the one after instead. i'll see what i can do though, i might have an aunty who could babysit for a couple of hours. lovely to meet you both again, hope to see you soon.

bron42 · 08/10/2004 13:52

Sorry Alli - was too tired to check emails late last night so have only just read your message. I didn't realise just how many people would be there! I got there for 10 and there were only about 5 of us for a few mins and then wow! DS had a fantastic time - his first experience of a BIG child-friendly environment (other than the usual ball parks) so was interested to see how he would do. He loved it - so much so that toast & drink were pushed aside to go back to play. I would definitely recommend it to anyone - from 6mths upwards. They have a 0-12mths on a Monday don't they for new mums. I will be going next Thursday to see how that is as the organiser Hebe told me it is quieter. Have you found that?
I went to the Dovedale Mother/toddler church group yesterday from 1.30-3.00pm. Hadn't been for months. If anyone fancies going then let me know. There's never more than a dozen women & there's plenty for them to do (although not on the scale of Frontline)& you get the usual coffee (Fairtrade which gives it a BIG thumbsup from me! One of my soapbox topics for another time)& biscuits. Could be better organised I think (Sorry if Val reads this!) but it's very close to where I live.
Found people very friendly there today - so thanks very much Alli for putting us on to Frontline.

alliwannado · 08/10/2004 14:02

Oh no Bron......... I was there about 10.05 I asked about 3 or 4 people are you bron LOL just got funny looks so gave up LOL, so glad you enjoyed it, i love it and Beth does of course. I haven't been on a Thursday yet just mainly Fridays but may try it one week but I don't mind it quite busy anyway. Next time we must meet, Mishi was there too, hope you managed to speak to someone.
legelbegle not to worry, theres times I can't make it with one thing and another, maybe I could call in for coffee in the week instead? Must admit if i had two at that age think I wouldnt go out LOL unless its the park......... maybe a park visit next week? My mum is having Beth for one day next week, think it may be Wednesday....so I have a day to myself YIPPPEEEEE.
Mishi good to see you again hope your little one has a good birthday see you next week.

MTS · 08/10/2004 14:25

Hi everyone - I'm up for meeting up at some point next week - I'll be going the under 1s cinema showing Thursday Morning at FACT - wimbledon is on - if anyone is interested. Otherwise I would quite fancy trying out Frontline next Friday - the baby massage classes I have been going to in Vauxhall have been cancelled as I was the only one turning up so I'll go to ones that SureStart are running at Everton on Mondays (which of course clashes with Frontline on Mondays!). I'm up for going to the park any time next week

leglebegle · 08/10/2004 19:42

can anyone tell me what sticky fingers is exactly and where? I can't go on the friday because george is in nursery and the baby is only 3 months old, but i could go to the new mums one on mondays (thanks bron for tip off
as for next week - thanks to mishi for very kind suggestion of bringing both but i don't think i can face it. as alliwannadoo will attest - george needs constant supervision there which would mean completely leaving the baby, and if he kicked off too, i'd be in real trouble. i will ask my aunt though if she'll babysit, i'll be talking to her over the weekend. i'm definitely on for it the week after though.Alliwannadoo, - yes coffee sometime next week would be nice, we'll sort it out as to where and when. MTS - is it only thursday when they do the under 1 film thing at Fact? can you give me some info on it? Sounds good. have good weekend everyone, maybe we should organise night out sometime?

alliwannado · 08/10/2004 23:33

leglbegle sticky fingers is a parent and toddler group held in Wavertree, (takes about 10mins drive). Its great, lots of toys/juice and toast for kiddies/tea and toast for us/singing/story/craft and Beths favourite bubble time LOL. Its for 2 hrs on a Thursday or Friday and costs just £1, maybe in a fortnight you would like to join us. George would love it I'm sure, I haven't been to the Monday one only because Beth is too old now but if its anything like sticky fingers then it will be excellent.
speak next week and sort it out

Hi leglebegle!

yeah, the film at fact is every 2nd Thursday at 11 a.m - called the Big Scream. You pay £1 membership, and then the tickets are £3.50 for adults, and free for the babies! There is one on this Thursday - I think Wimbledon. Problem with it being for under ones is that you aren't allowed to bring any older kids in . The fact web site is at www.fact.co.uk. Fact is on Wood St, just off Bold St near the fruit and veg stall.

mishi9123 · 11/10/2004 14:29

hi all
hope you had a lovely weekend. Adams first birthday tea went well and seemed to be enjoyed by all. The birthday boy was well behaved and i did shed a tear at the fact a year has gone past...lol
Hope you are all well
take care

Alli - yes, I ended up speaking to about six people which was great.
Have an appointment Fri am otherwise would come to the Frontline session.
Leglebegle, I plan to go on the Thurs session this week. Do you plan to go too? How old are your children/child?

bebby · 12/10/2004 13:18

Hi everyone, I am now into my second week of part time work yipee! From what I have just read it sounds like you have all been very busy arranging meetups , which is great, can I join in? How about a meet at Calderstones park and if the weather is bad we can walk over to my house, the park is about a 2 min walk from my front door. I can do Tuesday 19th or Friday 23 both days about 1 pm till 3 pm, anybody up for this?

Great news about eyelash I will look up her story on birth anouncements, and hello to leglebegle, sounds like you live somewhere between me and alliwannado, mrs waddle how is the pregnancy coming along, do you fancy a coffee soon, I am now free every Mon, Tue and Friday afternoon. I am off now I will check the site on Friday 15 October, looking forward to meeting you all, my house is quite child friendly and if we end up back here after the park, perhaps we can swap contact details and arrange regular meet ups......oooooohhh I really will have to stop being so bossy .

Take care gang!

MummyToSteven · 12/10/2004 17:52
