hi leglebegle, mishi and mrswaddle. I'm Laura, 27, mum to steven, nearly 7 months, and up for meeting up at the park (am particularly pleased to have discovered a buggy friendly bus to Calderstones Park(!)). I am a former legal type - (solicitor) but not going back after maternity leave and probably not going to carry on with the law - at least not in private practice anyway.

alliwannado · 05/10/2004 09:11

hello everyone, Im up for a meetup at the park, Wednesdays and Thursdays are best for me because I go to sticky fingers on Friday mornings and work the other 2 days.
Just hope the weather holds up for us, well let me know and I'll be there.

OP posts:
MTS · 05/10/2004 09:39

how about meeting up at Calderstones this Thursday (or if weather is grotty, go to Granmas in Hunts Cross)?

alliwannado · 05/10/2004 12:37

sounds good to me, I have to be getting off by 2.30ish to get home and do school pick up, so earlier meet would be good for me anytime after 10 is good. Grandmas do the toddler group from 10 til 12 I think.

Lots of messages, fantastic ! I can meet up on Thursday either at the park or at Grandmas, whatever. Shall we say the park if its sunny and grandmas if its raining ? Sounds like a morning meet is best. Trying to work out logistically is a nightmare with lunch so just let me know what time suits you all and I'll either bring the baby or my toddler whichever fits in with the time best! (and leave the other with my Mum - no way am doing both). Alliwandoo - I am really near to you, also live by the college, just off Woolton Road but very close to Childwall C of E primary school. MTS - I'm a solicitor too, but sadly have carried on working although not at the moment as baby only 12 weeks old. Will be going back to work next summer but only part time. Very much look forward to seeing you all x

alliwannado · 05/10/2004 14:07

leglebegle, great you live close by, coffee mornings coming up
Thursday ok, sunny and dry the park, say outside the cafe, but if raining meet at Grandmas at 10, is that ok with everyone? what if its inbetween, really cold, still the park or grandmas, if we are unsure, think Ill pop onto mumsnet just to check what everyones doing. know what you mean about lunch but at least we we finish by 12 they can be home within 30 mins having lunch or they do food there anyway.

alliwannado · 05/10/2004 14:10

mishi, you still going to sticky fingers on friday? see you there............. anyone else going?

OP posts:
leglebegle · 05/10/2004 14:27

shall we just meet at grandmas whatever the weather, unless its a freak heatwave (unlikely). Its more likely to be cold isn't it, and I can bring my toddler (as the baby has a feed at 10am so its a bad time for me and I'd have to make it 11am.) Plus we can get tea and sit down and chat. What do you think everyone?

mishi9123 · 05/10/2004 15:56

hi all
I cant make it this thursday as I am having gravel delivered...exciting hey but will make it next time. I will be going to sticky fingers jayne so will see u there and u can fil me in on this lot...lol
Have a good day all and think of me bored at home

alliwannado · 05/10/2004 15:56

ok grandmas 10am, as for the tea and chat, don't get much of that with my 15mth old, shes constantly moving (falling) about and is clingly...... so just grab the minutes I can inbetween climbing in the play area..... I did manage to get one drink down me last week while with Mishi.
better let us know what you look like so we can keep an eye out.
Anyone else going? Mishi? MTS? Bebby? etc

I am about 5 foot 5, medium build (oh alright a bit chubby post baby !!!) shoulder length blonde hair aged 34. Will be with 2 and a half year old blonde boy called George, who hopefully will be wearing his glasses so you should be able to spot us. I will wear a light pink zip up hooded top so that should make me quite obvious ! (and my name is Janine)I'll be there for 10 or as near as I get to that when I've dropped the baby at my Mum's. Look forward to seeing you both there, and will check here before I go in case you have to cancel.

MTS · 06/10/2004 15:42

hi everyone - I'll try and make it to granmas for ten but don't be surprised if I'm a bit late - I don't drive so will be coming on public transport and might get lost between Granmas and Hunts X train station

mishi9123 · 06/10/2004 15:48

hi laura
just to help..i think..lol
walk straight out of train station and turn left so u go by shops. At the traffic lights turn right so halifax is on opposite side. U walk straight up that road and asda is at the end when u walk in go to enterance for asda but follow it around the corner by car park and enterance to grandmas is there.
Good Luck

leglebegle · 06/10/2004 18:24

Hello all - great to see new mums on the site. Have not been on since before the book club.
Leglebegle - you can contact Anne Saunders direct at Blackburne House to enquire about the book club. Her number is 709 4356 and next meeting is Wed 20 Oct 6.30pm, George Eliot "mill on the floss". Haven't started it yet as I decided to try The English Patient, a book I've had for a while but never got down to reading.
For the new netters, I have two children, DD who started school 3 weeks ago and is loving it (luckily) and a DS who is 21 mths. I work Mon/Wed as a lecturer in Hospitality and Catering so Tues/Thurs/Fridays are good for me.I live off Allerton Rd so near to you all.
Sorry Alli meant to post last week as I said about going to Frontline but forgot about an appoinment I had. Have the car this week so will try and make it. Although am tempted with Wavy Davy'd s as DS likes to run around a lot!
Can't make Granma's tomorrow. Wish I had checked the site sooner this week and would have been able to re-arrange my time.
Any one else been to Wavy davy's other than Eyelash?Anyone heard how she is? She must be due anytime now!
Anyway, hopefully meet up with some more of you over the next week or so.
Bebby has talked about a Tuesday meet next week but not sure of the time.

MTS · 06/10/2004 22:19

eyelash has had hers - a big lad called Jacob. A fabulous birth story on the Birth Announcements thread

chatee · 06/10/2004 22:20

mts-you beat me too it -about eyelash

alliwannado · 06/10/2004 23:31

wavy davy (park road) gym tots? Yes I've been twice, its good but I would say best for the over 2's because of the equipment, my little one at 15mths is/was a bit too young. best to try it and its cheap.

Am going to Frontline in the morning on Alli's recommendation. Anyone else going?
If you don't know me I look like a 42 year old version of Catherine Zeta Jones. Opps, just woken up!!! I've got the accent and dark hair but that's about all.
I am 5ft 6ins, short dark hair with DS 21 mths (blondish hair). Hope to see somebody there!
Great news about Eyelash. Will check the Birth annoucements out now.
