paddle - egg hunt 10-2 around palm house with giant easter bunny think heard 3000 fairtrade eggs up for grabs.

suejonez · 04/04/2007 21:58

so is my DS terribly unusual in not minding the light then?

Paddlechick666 · 04/04/2007 22:00

oooh brilliant, will measure up. Thanks!

egg hunt sounds great. hoping dh will be here with skids by 11am so plenty of time to hunt!

sfxmum · 04/04/2007 22:01

don't think so sue can't remember dd having much trouble last summer, this year she is going to bed much later anyway.

Paddlechick666 · 04/04/2007 22:09

first few days of clock change she was fine.

she just isn't tired tbh. every night last week it was 8pm before she was off.

actually she is tired but she won't let go! that's why i'm thinking blackouts but i'd rather not, after all she sleeps in the day in full light.....

being sick hasn't helped as she no longer has a milk sleep drink - i'll re-introduce on friday when she's had time to get over the D&V.

tbh, if dh is going to be around mid-week more then it's cool for her to be up till 8pm. then he gets to see her.

but if he's not then i need her asleep by 7:30!

suejonez · 04/04/2007 22:10

its the milk that sends DS off - still has that one bottle feed before bed

ComeOVeneer · 04/04/2007 22:13

Paddle, dd had blackout lined curtains in our old house and it made her room so dark you couldn't see your hand infront of your face and she ended up sleeping with a night light. I have blackout blinds (no curtains) here and they don't fit the window tightly so make the room dark but not totally.

Paddlechick666 · 04/04/2007 22:16

sue, dd still has milk in the morning after brekkie and in the arvo after lunch and again last thing before bed - but it's cows milk......

CoV, the velcro idea really appeals as we're renting right now. she's never had blackouts or even heavy curtains before but she deffo doesn't give in till the light is almost gone at night.

i use a nightlight too but it's more for me than her! so i can see what i'm doing when i tuck her in last thing!

suejonez · 04/04/2007 22:21

but I bet its not in a bottle Paddle! Still adopted children are recommended to be bottle fed a bit longer as its helps bonding (actually helps them drop off to sleep!)

ComeOVeneer · 04/04/2007 22:27

Sue (despite my occupation) ds still has a bottle am and pm. He loves milk but won't have it from anything other than a bottle. Has water, diluted juice from a cup of any description, but if I offer milk in anything other than a bottle he has an absolute hissy fit and won't do anything else until I give it to him in a bottle.

suejonez · 04/04/2007 22:29

DS will drink milk with a straw but I find that a bottle feed gives him time to calm down and sends him half to sleep - not sure when I will wean him off it. It's his only botle feed so I guess one a day at 16 monnths isn't bad.

suejonez · 04/04/2007 22:30

and he is still on formula until our apptment with the paed and his iron levels are sorted.

ComeOVeneer · 04/04/2007 22:31

As long as you clean his teeth afterwards I wouldn't get too hung up about it.

Paddlechick666 · 04/04/2007 22:32

ah well, it is true she has it in a sippy cup.

but, she can only drink from sippy cups if she is tilted back as she seriously doesn't get the hang of tipping her head and cup. if anything she goes forward not back LOL!

apart from about 4 times when she was really tiny she's never had a bottle so just doesn't get the concept of tipping!

anyway! whatever! if it works for your kid as long as it's not class A then do it I say.

clearly this means keep the class As for yourself - far too good for LOs!

;-)

suejonez · 04/04/2007 22:35

following paddles comment - my big confession re drugs....

suejonez · 04/04/2007 22:36

I haven;t ever had any drugs that weren;t on prescription not even at university . Oh god I'm so dull

suejonez · 04/04/2007 22:37

I was cool for about 25 minutes in 1982 and it all went downhill from there

suejonez · 04/04/2007 22:37

and if you want to know why I was cool tehn - I bought a white jumpsuit... they were all teh rage I'll have you know.

Paddlechick666 · 04/04/2007 22:38

ha! dull she says! when she was hobnobbing at premier New York parties and claims first name terms with the gods of debauchery!

me-thinks you hide your light Ms Jonez!

suejonez · 04/04/2007 22:38

ah but the debauchery bit was very immoral not cool...

Paddlechick666 · 04/04/2007 22:39

i was never cool - just wasted!

Just Say No!

i didn't get that bit

it was fun tho............

suejonez · 04/04/2007 22:39

and I did work in advertising - it was difficult not to be debauched

suejonez · 04/04/2007 22:39

I used to have a one rule - no married men

suejonez · 04/04/2007 22:40

which became - no married men with children

suejonez · 04/04/2007 22:40

then no married men with children older than me
