Brand new thread for a new month.

hello all

we spent a lovely day at kew today and the season ticket really came into it's own by allowing us to jump the huge huge queue going up Kew road, guess Sunday will be even worst.
after the visit we left by the Brentford gate and walked home along the river it was great, so much better when the sun shines.

hope you all have a lovely weekend.

and foxie i will be around next week if you fancy airing the norks as it were

foxcub · 06/04/2007 18:33

What a fabulaous day!!

My family drove up form Bath and stayed several hours (Mum, brother, sister, BIL, nephew) they bought lunch, cake, choccie eggs and various bits and bobs. We had a fab afternoon

Hope everyone is enjoying the sun. May see some of you on the easter egg hunt in Kew on Sunday. We'll go about 10.30am after church.

sfx - fancy coming over/meeting up Tuesday or Thursday maybe?

Paddlechick666 · 06/04/2007 20:19

evening all.

glad to hear nice days have been had. bit and lonely here after dh's ex put a spanner in our plans for today.

took dd up to cambridge park playground and enjoyed the afternoon tho.

deff plan to do the egg hunt sunday with the skids. hoping to get there about 10:45-11am but dh travelling by public transport so am not optimistic.

also, the ex has demanded he stay for a 2 hour chat when he collects them sunday morning. he's told her no as we have plans but am fully expecting that she won't have got them up etc so she purposefully delays him.

witch!

anyways, what time does egg hunt end? having membership at kew is brill isn't it! you feel so special LOL!

mellow2 · 06/04/2007 21:07

PC,
Sorry you had a bit of a lonely day.

Foxcub,
I'm around next week too to go to Kew. I'm not brave enough to brave the weekend crowds. Hope the nice weather continues after Easter.

Sue,
At the moment, I can make any day suggested.

Really busy so I'm not really checking in much. Have a good Easter everyone.

and family can be great when they are not being a blooming pain.

hi mellow

not sure about evening out as we just got 2 babysitters available and we are plannning on making up for lost time

foxcub · 07/04/2007 10:07

Morning everyone

Paddle - sorry you were yesterday! I'm alone with the monsters all day today if you wanna pop over for a PG tips?

sfx - OK I'll probably call/text you Tues am or something?

Hoping to make egg hunt but may just send DH!!

Makes you feel like a VIP when you can jump the queue doesn't it LOL!! Specially when the queue all have to pay £12 a head to get in!

foxcub · 07/04/2007 10:08

Mellow - sorry I still haven't got round to picking up the phone yet!!!

nopudstilleaster · 07/04/2007 10:33

Morning all, just a quick pop in before I head to the hairdressers!

Hope everyone's having a good weekend & enjoying the weather - we're avoiding Kew this weekend as don't really want to deal with the crowds.

Paddle - hope ex doesn't hold dh up for too long and you can still enjoy tomorrow.

foxinsocks · 07/04/2007 16:09

I didn't go on Friday - also couldn't face the thought of the crowds!

Btw,(just for your info in case you didn't see it), have just read in the local rag that the cafe in Marble Hill Park has reopened. One of my favourite haunts - love the little playground and being down by the river (and the little ferry over to Ham House in the summer).

bunyanvillas · 07/04/2007 21:55

Wow that's good news re: Marble Hill cafe, great spot! Braved Kew today although not the queue for the giant bunnies! Was not, to be honest, as bad as I expected and the little farm was cute - but I did feel extremely sorry for some of the animals that were being manhandled by exuberant toddlers ... Have just baked 2 cakes - one for inlaws and one for the old folks next door. Cake no. 2 is looking dicey - just checked and it had risen really high around the outsides with a huge hollow on the middle ... but as I have posted on here before, I am not always in my finest hour in the kitchen ...

Paddlechick666 · 08/04/2007 08:33

morning all

is the adventure playground at Marble Hill open?

Who's doing the egg hunt today then?

Foxie, choc cake was yum! Hope you had a good night. I didn't catch Dr Who again!

quokka · 08/04/2007 08:38

think we are going to skip Kew today and go to the zoo - have fun though

sfxmum · 08/04/2007 08:59

morning all

we are all refreshed because for the first time in 2 weeks dd slept from 9-8.30

going for egg hunt at some point we also made some hot cross buns last night to bake later on.

terrible thing missing DrWho first 2 eps GREAT!
(and i much prefer this companion)

Paddlechick666 · 08/04/2007 09:02

i know! i've missed BOTH episodes and keep forgetting to record it.

will be @ kew at some point later but no idea when yet - hopefully before 12!!

enjoy the zoo quokka, i do love it there. will have to have another outing later this year i think.

oh Happy Easter, hope the Bunny of Chocolate has visited you all.

Paddlechick666 · 08/04/2007 09:11

don't believe it, dh just called and the ex has refused to let him have the kids.

they weren't even out of bed and she started screaching at him on the doorstep.

this is just ridiculous!

sfxmum · 08/04/2007 09:34

oh paddle that is terribleit is just not right to use children in order to get at the ex,plain evil iyam

Paddlechick666 · 08/04/2007 09:41

she's seriously un-hinged.

she let him to go and get them out of bed and all seemed according to plan.

then she just kicked off apparently - all in front of the kids too.

apart from the tonnes of food i've got in for their visit, it really puts a downer on the rest of easter for us.

at least dh is still on his way here, altho will be anxious till he actually arrives. how on earth is he supposed to get well and us get our marriage back on track when this sort of thing happens.

we've only been seeing them regularly since Feb and dh has met every single one of her demands.

sfxmum · 08/04/2007 09:45

regardless of whatever their issues are using the children is always wrong, i am so sorry

Paddlechick666 · 08/04/2007 10:14

it breaks my heart and makes me so that she can behave like this. it's been going on for months and months now.

just had a long chat with dh about it all. our solicitors letter asked her to attend mediation but she ignored it.

now i know how it works dh is going to find a mediation service local to her and book a session. the service will then contact her to invite her to a session too.

clearly she's got unresolved issues but tbh, i think some of them are not related to dh but he bears the brunt of other stresses she had in her life.

2 days ago all arrangements were fine. 1st thing this morning all was fine.

just hope she agrees to mediation. yeah things haven't been easy the last 18 months but it's totally illegal to withold access and she has no real reason as dh has done everything and more that she has asked for.

we're going to ring sds1 later and hopefully salvage something for tomorrow if she's calmed down.

thing is, it has just come out of the blue.

so with her but proud that dh is trying very hard not to let this send him down again. 6 months ago he would've been off with his backpack!

paddle hope your dh gets this resolved it is quite sad really

foxinsocks must try marble hill, not been yet but i understand they do cakes

foxie i spotted your people around the bunny but then lost sight of them as dd tried to run from the bunny once she had the egg.

btw bunnyan how did the cake come out? you are very nice to cook for the neighbours

Paddlechick666 · 08/04/2007 19:49

evening all.

what you been deleting then foxie?

we actually had a lovely day at kew despite it being mobbed. nice picnic away from the crowds and then dh wore dd and she slept a good hour.

ice-cream and C&C before home.

we've found a mediation service in her hometown and dh will contact on tuesday.

he's been great despite the upset.

chinese and a movie now and some wine of course!

dd loved her chocolate negg!

bunyanvillas · 08/04/2007 20:56

SFX, the cake is edible - but very heavy, you could break someone's window with it! So will drop a small piece in next door tomorrow - don't want to give them tummy ache! It was supposed to cook for 45 mins but ended up being in for 2 hrs ... Luckily the Nigella sponge that I'd baked for the inlaws came out a treat and our punters were happy this afternoon! Off to an Easter Egg hunt at Ham House tomorrow (assuming we can get parked - is bound to be total madness, as it is everywhere. Easter is the new Christmas!) Foxie are you ok? Am always intrigued when people delete messages. Paddle, pleased to hear you had a lovely day with DH despite other stresses.
