Had to create a new thread as we've already filled the old one!

2cute, I would love to meet up with you and your ds but I have my NCT coffee this afternoon and once ds has woken up from his nap, I have to go sort out my MIL's bday present.

Are you free next week at all?

OP posts:
suejonez · 07/03/2007 21:19

I have killer credit control techniques - "getting someone to do work and not paying them is stealing..."

Me me me me I want to come over and photograph Monti.

Cov I will be free next Tuesday or Friday for Kew visits or Lollipop club visit.

Anyone else free this Friday?

ComeOVeneer · 07/03/2007 21:48

Sue can do either of those days atm. Typical that dh has buggered of to NY until Saturday and I have sick kids, plus he makes me miss tomorrow nights dinner. He owes me big time

quokka · 08/03/2007 08:59

cov know how you feel my dh is off to Miami for a conference and will be missing our wedding anaversery . He didn't even realise till I told him! He's on the phone to HR in Singapore as we speak discussing the finer details of our move!

sfxmum · 08/03/2007 09:08

morning all

sympathies about the absent husbands, mine has been working such long hrs that almost has the same effect.
dd's cold shows no sign of improving and mine is far worst with nasty cough all night grump grump grump

hope you all ok, must find the energy to take dd out but don't think swimming would be best really

2Cute · 08/03/2007 09:19

That's crappy Quokka, sorry . Atleast the move to SG is progressing. You must be really excited!

Sorry about absent DHs. Mine works long hours and plays hockey every saturday (and Sunday if there's a cup game) so I totally sympathise. I wouldn't mind so much if it meant we lived a lavish lifestyle but some how we're always just left with pennies after the bills go out

Morning ev1

Sue - I can't do Fridays (unless its half-term) because DS is at nursery but would love to do something next Tuesday. I'm also a Kew virgin.

Right, I'm off to the lollipop for 11am if anyone wants to meet. Really looking forward to tonight

MrsRecycle · 08/03/2007 09:50

Quokka & 2Cute - oh good we can talk about dh's tonight - mine is being a total a**e at the mo. Will explain all tonight! That's if he decides to come home! Must be his impending snip that is playing on his mind hahaha!

Oh Foxie - so sorry to hear about your awful experience but am really glad Monti is here safe and well.

foxcub · 08/03/2007 11:23

Hiya - well my milk has come in (ouch!! LOL!) - Monti just wanted to hang off my boobies all night so have introduced him to the delights of a dummy/my small finger The other two hated dummies, but he's a really sucky baby.

He had his first bath this morning so smells all sweet and fresh. Despite his size, he looks so newborn and minnie now, specially compared to DS and DD, who came rushing in this morning to peek at him again

Paddle/Sue - shall I give you a call Saturday am? The critical factor atm is how sore my nipples are as I kind of retreat into myself when I have difficulties BFing and can't face the world. Also, can probably only handle one visitor + DC at a time atm. My friend, a BF counsellor, came over yesterday and said Monti's latch on was fine, but am very sore atm. In fact need to find a sore nips thread so I can discuss with other sore women at length LOL!!

Sorry about the self indulgent post

MrsRecycle · 08/03/2007 11:28

fox - the best thing is breast shells - I left them on for 24 hours and it healed them. Unfortunately, I've just lent them to my friend whose just had her ds 7 weeks early and is finding the expressing a bit sore whilst he is in Intensive Care. Also get some lansinoh cream, if you can find some (or vaseline).

mellow2 · 08/03/2007 11:41

foxie,
i'm sure the bfing will be fine, you've got tons of experience after all. I've got half a tube of lansinoh left. If you want it, I'll drop it off later tonight.

mellow2 · 08/03/2007 11:42

quokka,
have you decided on moving dates?

mellow2 · 08/03/2007 11:47

sfx,
I'm thinking of going to Algarve for Christmas (ploy to escape ILs). Do you know that part of the country well? I'm just keen to know if it's rainy during Dec/Jan. I'm not too fussed about the temperature.

foxcub · 08/03/2007 11:52

Hi - does it help to moisterise then?

I tried shells before and couldn't juggle them and am allergic to lanolin - may try some hypoallergic moisturiser or that camomile cream.

I think it'll be fine as left breast is ok, am going to try using a different chair for better positioning.

He's asleep now - bless

suejonez · 08/03/2007 11:53

Foxie will fit in with whatever suits you obviously! If you prefer I can leave DS with my mum for an hour. Self indulgent postings are allowed when you have just given birth (and when we are all trying to muscle in for a good look at little Monti )

suejonez · 08/03/2007 11:53

I have some vasoline if you want me to drop it over?

suejonez · 08/03/2007 11:54

and do you need anything tomorrow? Shopping and the like - am happy to just drop it off wihtout visiting. Email me if you want anything, its no problem.

Paddle whilst I remember - no even in the Mecca there were no fingerpaints.

Oh well back to work...

Paddlechick666 · 08/03/2007 11:57

hi foxie

i've got a tube of lasinoh you can have as well.

sorry to hear you're heading over to the bitten nips tho, it is tough for the first few days. sounds good tho if his latch is good. hang in there and it'll improve i'm sure.

as usual, i'm around all weekend with no special plans so if you suddenly fancy a visit just text and i'll pop over if i'm able.

if i don't hear from you then no problem at all.

am slightly more optimistic about making tonight's meal as dd seems to be holding steady, ie: not getting any worse!

Paddlechick666 · 08/03/2007 12:03

btw, got my ma making some flapjacks for you foxie.

foxcub · 08/03/2007 12:13

Thanks - flapsjacks huh? Now you're talking!

Sue - I might get DH to go to M&S later for me or may even venture out myself.

mellow2 · 08/03/2007 12:39

I also found smearing breast milk on the nipples and letting them dry really effective to moisturise and relieve the soreness.

quokka · 08/03/2007 13:42

agree with mellow just using breastmilk to moisturise, and what I found amazing is savoy cabbage. Just put a leaf in your bra, it helps if you keep the cabbage in the fridge, so its nice and cooling when you shove it down your bra! It also leaves an interesting pattern on your boobs

quokka · 08/03/2007 13:43

no date yet but dh is in talks with HR about salary and reloction etc (which he is happy about), but assume it will be happening in a couple of months?

mellow2 · 08/03/2007 14:06

Mm, we're going to start planning your leaving party soon!

Paddlechick666 · 08/03/2007 14:36

oh just remembered i have some of those gel pads that you keep in the fridge that i never used.

think they're in the pantry, will try to find them.

can always just do a drive by flapjack, gel pad drop off!

quokka - good but sad news mate....

MrsBigD · 08/03/2007 14:39
