Had to create a new thread as we've already filled the old one!

2cute, I would love to meet up with you and your ds but I have my NCT coffee this afternoon and once ds has woken up from his nap, I have to go sort out my MIL's bday present.

Are you free next week at all?

Morning all

Had brief text from Foxi last night. Labour was 5 hours and monti weighs 9lb 3oz. Poor foxi's probably shattered after the week she's had, hope she's getting as much rest as possible.

I was thinking of doing a collection and sending a basket/bouquet to foxi. I think its always nice when the mum's appreciated after birth. I was over the moon when my friends collected for me aswell as DS! (Mind you, I'm quite easily pleased!! ) No pressure but what do you fink? If anyone's interested, I'll collect at the dinner 2morrow night.

Paddle - Chin up mate, you've got us to keep you company tomorrow night! (or is that scarey rather than consoling? )

The day-time thread seems to have died off so I'll just post here. I'm meeting BigKat at the Lollipop tomorrow (11am) if anyone fancies coming along.

Morning all. Well we had a pretty good night here. DS still not well but at least he slept. DH's taxi has just arrived and he is off to the airport. He did let me have a lie in this morning and took care of the kids and did the school run. I have made dd a good/bad behaviour chart so she gets ticks and crosses depending on her behaviour. If she has at least 10 more ticks than crosses by friday evening she gets to stay up and have a girly supper with me and watch a movie. Hopefully that will make her easier to deal with whilst dh is away. She always acts up when he goes on these trips for some reason.

ComeOVeneer · 07/03/2007 10:43

I would love to contribute to the collection 2Cute but am unable to come tomorrow as DH is in NY until Saturday. Not sure how else I could get the money to you.

foxabout2pop · 07/03/2007 11:28

Hi everyone - Monti is asleep downstairs so I've rushed to get back on MN!!

He's a lovely baby and was really good last night. Fed every 2 hours and snuggled next to me in bed ("awwwww")

He's long and chubby and I always forget all the newborn body language which they have, which is so cute (cute baby yawns, nibbling on their fists and that look of utmost surprise at their own bowel movements)

My sister stayed over and a school mum whizzed DS and DD to school and back while we were away, but a million thanks to you for "being there" in case we needed you

Birth was bloody horrendous - high spot: the sweep didn't hurt and did trigger things off, DH was absoluteley wonderful as he knew excatly what to do and when (big hugs to my hen pecked DH ) and of course meeting Monti, who is seriously gorgeous

Low spots: the Birth Centre staff trying to kick me out at 6am Tuesday because my labour had slowed a bit, being forced to walk down the corridor with my waters gushing out (they decided to move all the patients round), a madly fast last stage and me screaming with no pain relief as the aneasthetist went AWOL - with the delivery room door wide open and builders chatting directly outside the door, Monti getting stuck and the emergency alarm being sounded with staff rushing into the room and not knowing if he was going to be OK, being torn to shreds and then the placenta refusing to come out.

Out of the three labours it was by far the worst and out of the three hospitals it was understaffed chaotic, but what a relief its over.

Monti sis great and DS in particular is completely besotted. We've given DS and DD they day off school to bond with him - must go - he wants me!!

suejonez · 07/03/2007 11:34

Aww Foxie how lovely. Love and kisses to Monti and everyone in the Foxhole. Let us know when you're up for visitors... don't think DS has met anyone that small before.

Eleusis · 07/03/2007 11:49

ComeOVeneer · 07/03/2007 11:58

Hi Foxie, once again huge congratulations. Nice idea about giving the others the day off school. Sorry to here the birth wasn't so great, but hopefully it will soon be a blurry memory and I'm sure the end result has made it more than worth it. Look forward to meeting the new fox cub when you feel up to it.

ComeOVeneer · 07/03/2007 11:59

Shouldn't your name be foxhaspopped now?

MrsBigD · 07/03/2007 12:07

Congrats Foxie. Sorry to hear labour/birth was so awful. But sounds like MOnti is worth it (texted you this morning but no rush )

trying2bgood · 07/03/2007 13:54

CONGRATS fox and welcome Monti to this wonderful world!

Fox - sorry to hear about the labour, totally sympathise with the placenta not coming out, same happened to me and they made me sit on this birthing stool for ages, felt a bit silly but was bf dd2 so at least I had my mind on other things!

Enjoy Monti & hope you get some rest!

lots of love and a big hug xxxx

2Cute · 07/03/2007 14:57

Awwww foxi Can't wait to see a pic! Really glad your DH was a great support for you, especially if QC staff weren't available to help. Pass our congratulations on to him aswell! Totally chuffed for the fox family!

CoV - Do you use paypal? If yes, I'll give my details and you could contribute that way. Thanks

So far its:

nopudstilleaster · 07/03/2007 15:17

and me

sfxmum · 07/03/2007 15:55

yep talk tomorrow

now i am tempted to start one of those 'am i being unreasonable threads'
dh did some work for 'a girl' last year, she is a client of sometime but late last year she asked for extra work, dh was busy said could do, but only at weekends and would charge accordingly although below market rates anyway.
so, this was last november she still hasn't paid, despite several friendly reminders.

this month dh's accountant sent bill+letter

silly girl got her boyfriend to call dh demanding to know why the intimidating tactics

now i reaaally want to call her up on best hand on hips fashionsilly moo

sorry rant over

foxcub · 07/03/2007 16:17

sfx - I wouldn't ring her TBH as it personalises it - I'd get DH's accountant to send a quasi legal letter thrreatening court action if whe deosn't cought up within a specified time limit. What a cheek eh?

MrsD - your text hasn't arrived yet - occassionally they seem to float in cyberspace and arrive later the same day...

I can't do a pic as I have no digital cameral. Can get a CD of photos from Boots but HTF do I post it?

Listen, when you get to over 40 like I am you can't be expected to keep up with modern technology can you?

lemonaid · 07/03/2007 16:39

Send her another bill for the time your DH spent talking to her boyfriend...

(probably not actually advisable, but very tempting)

sfxmum · 07/03/2007 16:50

you see he has not talked to the boyfriend as i was at home and spoke to that idiot, i was pretty calm did not get involved and gave dh's number
i mean the boyfriend? she is nearly30 or something
i would not really talk to hear but i do feel like slapping her

2Cute · 07/03/2007 17:02

Don't blame you sfx. People really do take the p*ss sometimes. You/your DH should just refuse to talk to her and have your accountant deal with it in writing.

ComeOVeneer · 07/03/2007 19:48

Sue ds still not well, I think as he is the youngest and has the least mature immune system he is struggling to fight it off. I want him to be totally clear of this bug before he interacts with other children so Friday is looking doubtful. Would next week be possible for you? I need to be introduced to the delights of Kew by an expert .

Paddlechick666 · 07/03/2007 20:00

evening all

friend departed and very sad, was lovely having them here.

planning trip to sweden for july or september.

sfx, she's not my old nanny is she? she's 30 odd and had her boyfriend ring me to tell me she couldn't cope LOL.

understand the frustration but would deff keep it official and not personal. doubt your dh will want to work for her again so not as if you want to save the relationship...

foxie, if you were to invite me over on the weekend i could take some digi-pics for you

or i could just grab the photo cd and upload them for you.

you should start a blog, it's dead easy. i learned today and i'll send you all the link very soon.

dd stuffed full of cold but went off to sleep very easily for grandma so that's a relief.

god i'm tired - 2 & 1/4 hours to get to Stansted and 1 & 3/4 to get back!

nopudstilleaster · 07/03/2007 21:07

evening all

CoV - know how you feel at the minute. Ds still not well, all he wants to do is sit on me & cuddle. Am hoping he will feel better tomorrow so we can go out and enjoy the sunshine a bit!

[hugs] to Paddle.

Off to bed to read as dh is watching the football [yawwn].

nopudstilleaster · 07/03/2007 21:07

ooops, forgot to say hello to foxi & monti, hope you're both doing well! Nice to know your dcs are bonding with him.
