Had to create a new thread as we've already filled the old one!

2cute, I would love to meet up with you and your ds but I have my NCT coffee this afternoon and once ds has woken up from his nap, I have to go sort out my MIL's bday present.

Are you free next week at all?

Paddle - Stanstead? oh how I hate that drive!! still its worth it to see your friend.

Hi Sue and SFX

nopudstilleaster · 03/03/2007 09:30

That's what I thought! Just nice to get reassurance sometimes and I didn't want to have to go to the hospital!

Let's go Monti, let's go.... that's my cheer for Monti today!

Looks like there are a few people for the 24th - perhaps a bit nearer the time we can check what the weather's going to be like & arrange to meet up somewhere.

2Cute · 03/03/2007 09:52

Blimey foxi, I expected to come on here this morning saying "monti is out and mum and baby are great" not to see you still posting That is meant in the nicest possible way!

FOxi - I'm carless today as DH has a match in Oxford but am home if you need DCs looking after.

Have fun with your mate paddle.

Hope baby pud recovers quick. DS had that bug around Oct/Nov and its not pleasant but try not to worry. I second paddle's advice, just keep him hydrated.

Morning everyone else, have a good wk/nd

foxabout2pop · 03/03/2007 11:36

2cute - I know, I know - I'm not doing very well am I?

"Will have to try harder" to get this baby out.

Right now, off for our walk....

2Cute · 03/03/2007 12:46

Aww foxi, must be tough playing the waiting game. Atleast you're getting some extra quality time with your other 2

BTW, before I forget gals, NO mention of mumsnet 2morrow please. We've all just met "around" as people do. My own family knows about MN but its my ILs I'd like to keep it from!!

I did a test run of cutting sandwiches into shapes today. Any tips for helping prevent them breaking?

suejonez · 03/03/2007 12:52

my tip for stopping sandwiches breaking up - cut them into squares (thats a shape isn;t it?)

I usually do the "friend of a friend" thing if I don't want to admit to mumsnet.

2Cute · 03/03/2007 13:06

SJ!!

sfxmum · 03/03/2007 16:27

so no mention of mumsnet - check
as for sandwichshapes i am with SJ squares or triangles are great

back from Kew and meeting friends, actually other online acquaintances whom we met for the first time today

Eleusis · 03/03/2007 19:07

Sooooooo.... has anyone heard from Foxie in the last couple of hours?

sfxmum · 03/03/2007 19:20

yes and with all this foxie business i forgot to ask how to photo went Sue, did you get a nice one?

suejonez · 03/03/2007 19:38

bloody photographer - rang at 10.45 (for 10.30 appt) to say he was running late and could he do it after the Fulham match which he had to photograph. Yes BUT D is in the bath by 6.30 and bed by 7.

Phone call at 6.45 - can he come tomorrow at 10.30

Feel like I have spent half the day hanging around waiting and it was such a nice day too.

Tomorrow I am going out for a walk early so I'm not cooped up in the house waiting for him.

sfxmum · 03/03/2007 19:42

that is annoying and actually quite rude, just don't offer a drink or let him use the toilet tomorrow

must get dd to sleep whenever dh manages to get her out of the bath

foxabout2pop · 03/03/2007 19:44

Sue - that's pants isn't it. I bet he just wanted to watch the footie

2cute - hopefully I'll be able to come to your party tomorrow

Eleusis - I've been bloody walking and really active all day and all its earned me is a achey back and knees. Looks like it won't be a full-moon Monti!

I'm becoming a bit of a bore aren't I?

sfxmum · 03/03/2007 19:47

it's a lunar eclipse tonight so go on Monti extra special

suejonez · 03/03/2007 19:53

Foxie - when he did the "I had to photograph the Fulham match and only just come out (6.45)" I did think - what time does the match finish? %ish I think - shades of the pub after the game if you ask me.

Obviously a man wihtout children - D was so excited and really looking forward to his moment of stardom

foxabout2pop · 03/03/2007 20:02

Sue - agree you should keep it short and sweet tomorrow and don't even offer him a cuppa!!

Silly man!

nopudstilleaster · 03/03/2007 20:06

That's really rubbish Sue, I hate it when people keep you waiting like that.

Ds has managed to keep some food down today but has just spent the whole day sitting on either me or dh. Hoping for a good night's sleep from him and if he's better still able to come to the party.

suejonez · 03/03/2007 20:09

its become more of a bugbear of mine since I had DS - people just don't realise that being cooped up inside with a 1yr old whilst trying to keep them clean for a photo shoot can turn your remaining brown hair grey

nopudstilleaster · 03/03/2007 20:13

Especially when you consider how long it takes to get them ready to go out so that even if you think you have time to go out you often don't... not sure if that made much sense

trying2bgood · 03/03/2007 20:23

nopud - glad you are against heathrow expansion, last weekend I stood in acton trying to get people to sign petitions and found being completely ignored very amusing. Some people told me that they 'like runways' and others said 'its hopeless you can't stop it'! I personally think its always worth a try.

fox - cannot believe Monti has not come out to play! Its such a lovely full moon too....me thinks its time to get the curry out!!

Sue - that is very annoying. I hate waiting ages for people only to receive a phone call to say they cannot make it. I was listening to the radio the other day on the subject of lateness and the presenter thought it had a lot to do with mobile phones. People feel it is ok to be late or not show as you can phone people on the mobile to let them know.

I have just got back from my cousin in-laws house for a birthday party. She is lovely but her in-laws are a little strange. My dd1 was playing with a toy gun and I took it away explaining guns hurt people, one of the other children was asking 'why is it not ok to play with pretend guns?', my cousin's father in-law replied 'exactly there is nothing wrong with it' and then gave me a dirty look!! I don't mind that he disagreed with me but I don't think he should have tried to undermine me. Aren't families lovely? Thank goodness I only see him about 3 times a year.

nopudstilleaster · 03/03/2007 20:36

tryin - I had to sign it because it does affect us & everyone must have seen the effect the road tax petition had so you never know!

ComeOVeneer · 03/03/2007 21:03

Hi all. Am hoping to still make it tomorrow for 2cute's ds's b'day but dd has been vomiting today (after complaining about a sore tummy). Has been getting better since 4ish this afternoon, but will see tomorrow. I suspect it was something she ate, but obviously won't come if there is any chance of it being contagious.

It didn't help that we were at MIL's at the ime so I was immediately asked what had I been feeding her, was I sure it had been prepared, refridgerated, cooked properly etc. Did I wash my hands (blah, blah, blah) .

MrsBigD · 03/03/2007 23:24

Foxie... still posting?!? Doesn't Monti want to come out?

2cute ... hope the party goes well. I'm so disorganised atm I have no idea what we'll be doing tomorrow, besides playing tag team (one distracting the kids whilst the other is trying to tidy up)

SJ... photographer keeping you waiting and then postponing? What an outrage ... I mean major car crash or giving birth are acceptable excuses but a blimming fottie match??? ... haven't had time to read lots of the thread... what are the pics for? I do photography you know and I could do Tuesday during the day

Eleusis · 03/03/2007 23:35

Oh no,Foxie. Are you still here??? Well, in case you hold out until Monday, I just thought I'd let you know that it's Labour Day in the states. How fitting?

foxabout2pop · 04/03/2007 07:10

Labour Day??

Morning All

WEll I've had a very eventful night. Having slept really well all this week, I retired to bed last night "knowing" my night would be disrupted (could feel it in me amniotic waters).

I was woken by strong contractions at 3am and was having them 10 minutes apart and the proper regular/take your breath away type.

Rang QC at 3.35am and was contemplating ringing my sister to get her over from Croydon.

I then spotted a pile of vomity bed clothes on the floor. DD had vomited during the night and DH (bless 'im) had changed her bed for her, without waking Hefferlump here.

I have spent since 3.30am washing vomity bed clothes and sitting in a hot bath to slow the contractions down.

Can you beleive this?

I couldn't face bringing my sister over to face vomity children and couldn't face leaving DD when she's sick - specially as she would've woken to find Mummy and Daddy gone.

Anyway DD is up now, I am quite wrinkly from 2 hours sitting in the bath and contractions seem to be returning....

2cute - no idea whether we will get to your DS's party now. I don't want to bring DD is she has the vomiting bug and of course I am rather hoping I'll be "busy" today giving birth.

If we don't show, I'll give your DS his pressie soon and hope you have a fabulous party. I can't wait to see that hummer - when is it being delivered?
