Had to create a new thread as we've already filled the old one!

2cute, I would love to meet up with you and your ds but I have my NCT coffee this afternoon and once ds has woken up from his nap, I have to go sort out my MIL's bday present.

Are you free next week at all?

hi mrsD

sue thanks but too early for me another time be greati never used the cafe at mothercare just go for boggie tots and run, must try it sometime.

foxie - lets hope it will not be long now

swimming was fab and i got some shopping done too, and we managed to miss the rain which was a stroke of luck, i think the worst of it happen when we were in the pool and later on the bus home

quokka - being a doula is a fantastic job there just aren't enough around, nor midwives, nurses, etc

ComeOVeneer · 28/02/2007 14:30

LOL Sue, I don't actual enjoy the baking (I love it when it is just me but with dd it is so messy). I would just rather do thatthan deal with ds in the wet muddy play ground, even with his no waterproof all-in-one. So the lesser of 2 evils ou could say.

suejonez · 28/02/2007 14:37

having coaxed D back into a nap - he is still asleep thats an one hr three quarters so far has to be a record. Thought the boy was incapable of sleeping more than 1 hr during the day. Obviously he needed a bit of direction.

I meant to say last night...

why do I spend half my time when trying to get him to sleep then when he is asleep he looks so delicious I just want to wake him up and cuddle him (obviously I don't). Went in to check on him last night and he had rotated himself 180 degrees and looked like a little angel.

pudding77 · 28/02/2007 14:40

Sue, I love going and checking on ds at night, particularly cute when he's asleep on his front with his bum in the air! Glad your ds is sleeping more. Am trying to get ds to have a decent nap now.

suejonez · 28/02/2007 14:46

Bizarrely I am going to wake him if he's not awake by 3pm! Never done that before (except when he was jetlagged which is a bit different obviously)

The how lovely sleeping babies are is a relatively new discovery as I've been so releived when he's asleep and I have some time to myself that I don;t think I've been very focussed on him after bedtime. I'm more relaxed about it now and not so terrified that opening his door is going to wake him up!

Paddlechick666 · 28/02/2007 14:53

dd is very cute when she's asleep. i have recently discovered that i can turn her back the right way without waking her which is great.

this is normally about 10ish and when i cover her with a blanket. she seems to then stay put till about 7am.

this morning dh and i crept to her bedroom door and pushed it open a crack so we could see her lying on her back talking to her wallpaper. her head is to the door so she had no idea we were there!

god i am so bored by work today. actually i am really looking foward to a trip to the office tomorrow - it's been 2 weeks!

Paddlechick666 · 28/02/2007 14:54

btw, Sue/Foxie, could I borrow the bumbo for a few days whilst Swedish friend here?

pretty please?

am slightly concerned that our floor is a bit cold for the 5 month old dd plus my dd might trample friend's dd!

sfxmum · 28/02/2007 14:55

mine is having a late nap now rather angelic looking if i do say so myself

COV - lol at your ds puddle antics kindred spirit to my dd

need coffee and rest now

suejonez · 28/02/2007 14:57

D isn't using it as he gets frustrated at not being able to get out (which Foxie having seen him in action today can probably beleive!) so I was going to give it back to her. I'm off to Osterly Tesco when he (finally) wakes up. I could switch to the one near you and drop it off on the way back? Sure foxie wouldn't mind.

suejonez · 28/02/2007 15:01

will text you

Paddlechick666 · 28/02/2007 15:16

sj, that'd be great but no rush. friend not arriving till saturday.

but if you want to come distract me that'd be fine!

don't want to divert you from Osterly Mecca tho.

foxabout2pop · 28/02/2007 16:38

No probs re Bumbo

LOL re "Osterley Mecca"!

I think kids look much younger when they are alseep. DD looks like a baby still when she's sleeping and DS looks, well, innocent

I always want to steal a kiss when they're asleep but don't 'cos it'll wake them and they'll start being a nuisance

foxabout2pop · 28/02/2007 16:39

Hi MrsD - how is it going?

quokka · 28/02/2007 16:51

don't worry foxy I am only going to give you a lift don't think I ready to start being a doula just yet

quokka · 28/02/2007 16:53

I can't believe how much ds2 dribbles in his sleep! Theres always a huge wet patch when I wake him - I have no problems waking chidren/babies when its time to get up

foxabout2pop · 28/02/2007 16:58

Quokka - have your landline No now (thanks Paddle)

quokka · 28/02/2007 17:25

I was hoping to have my mobile back in action, but the guy in Vodafone chiswick has given me a sim card that they can't activate ! I have just called them threatening to leave and they have given me free line rental next month - will cancel after that

foxabout2pop · 28/02/2007 18:28

Quokka - good for you!!

Paddlechick666 · 28/02/2007 19:59

evening all

well dd took 45 mins to go to bluddy sleep tonight!

far too excited by the arrival of Grandma.

sue, nice to see you earlier. yum donut! mum was very charmed by your ds - he's got the touch eh!

mrsb, hope you don't mind but Bruin has gone with sue's ds with new batteries - i never knew how much it could say!

quokka, good work. thanks for the handysitt details, should be delivered tomorrow. also invested in a travel cot mattress today too. hopefully dd will sleep better when that arrives.

foxie, i'm on standby! phone will be coming to bed with me tonight. mobile okay.

Paddlechick666 · 28/02/2007 20:00

ps: did we get a view on 2cute's ds' present?

foxabout2pop · 28/02/2007 21:01

Thanks Paddle - just told my sister I'll call her at 2am

Having braxton hicks but think that's 'cos I'm knackered

am awwwf to bed now...

pudding77 · 28/02/2007 21:04

Paddle - I found putting a thick towel or blanket under the sheet helped ds sleep much better in the travel cot.

sfxmum · 28/02/2007 21:18

paddle was that about the shared pressie for 2cute ds? if we sharing let me know otherwise will have to sort something out by friday

foxie should you not pop tonight, would it be ok to swing by yours and pick up my cake box? i left it on book club day

2cute what activities are there in Kingston? i need to get some shopping done there but don;t want to take dd just for that though i could tire her out first someplace

Eleusis · 28/02/2007 22:11

SFX, there is a lovely creche. DD knows it well. Just drop her off and shop in peace.

Eleusis · 28/02/2007 22:13
