Hi - just moved into the area, have 3 yr old ds. As I work most days, not yet been able to attend mothers & kids groups - anyone know of activities around on Fridays or any MNer meets?
Thanks in advance!

sorry girls, i can't make Friday morning - I've got to wait in all day for a delivery!!! (A sink, not anything exciting).

Hope to meet up with you all on the evening of the 7th December if thats still going ahead?!

Let me know, and have a good time tomorrow. Sorry again, was looking forward to that.

stickynote · 19/11/2004 07:52

zolapola I'm SO SORRY - my FIL was rushed into hospital last night and I've going there this morning with my MIL . I really am gutted to have to let you down at the last minute.

ZolaPola · 19/11/2004 09:16

God Stickynote - hope he is ok. Let us know how you get on. What a shame. Perhaps we can get together another day for a coffee?

ZolaPola - is anyone else showing up today or are you left stranded?

ZolaPola · 19/11/2004 09:22

No-one else confirmed so won't be going. Don't worry, plenty else to do (including also chasing a delivery I waited in for yesterday, oh the joys!). Have a good w/e.

Its a pain - I waiting in the other day for this sink and go so fed up popped round the corner to buy a paper - then they called while I was out!

I really need this sink today as the plumber needs it this afternoon as he's putting a dishwasher in the kitchen and needs the new sink for it! (hooray).

You could always go shopping!

SusiS · 19/11/2004 09:49

i was about to wake ds!
hope we will meet up another day!

but just like you - lots to do anyways

stickynote · 19/11/2004 20:08

Thanks for your concern - FIL had a heart attack a couple of months ago and is waiting for a bypass. He collapsed yesterday and was taken to hospital and they've done a million and one tests on him to try and find out whether it was another attack or something else. He's finally back home but has to go back after the weekend. Poor man, I feel so sorry for him and MIL is such a worrier which doesn't help .

I was really looking forward to today, especially seeing the weather. If anyone wants to try and do another daytime one before Christmas, shout, otherwise we'll aim for the 7th evening, shall we?

tatcity · 22/11/2004 12:24

Great. See you on the 7th. Hope FIL is ok.

ZolaPola · 23/11/2004 14:08

hope FIL okay, stickynote.

hello ladies. i would love to hook up with some like minded mums. i live just south of reading, but used to work long hours in london, so never got to any local antenatal classes and consequently didn't meet any local mummies. i still work full time (but locally) and not being available to go to toddlers groups etc daytime in the week doesn't help either!!! i have a dh, a dog and dd aged 2. i like wine, food, horses, long walks, chocolate, the national enquirer, american sit coms etc (not necessarily in that order) hope to hear from someone - esp if you have any ideas about what i could do with dd on saturdays - dh is workaholic (joke) so can sometimes be at loose end...

ZolaPola · 30/11/2004 17:54

Hi lulabel - we're slowly dissolving into the ether on this thread, you could always try the SW London lot - greater critical mass so think more active. also there's a christmas meal. hth

so when are we going out then?

tatcity · 16/12/2004 23:56

Are you lot ok? Haven't seen anything posted for a while since the 7th was cancelled?

ZolaPola · 17/12/2004 14:06

Hi Tatcity - just seen this! Not been online much at mo - usual christmas rush/bugs etc. Heard from Stickynote that's she's been busy too (especially, I guess because of her FIL) and suggested meeting up in NY. Are you on for that? Hope all's well anyway and Merry Christmas!

I'm here ! FIL had his bypass this week, all the kids have been ill (and not conveniently at the same time either) and I've got that glazed manic look that you get in the run up to Christmas. I'm keen to meet up in January so will don my organising hat again come the new year.

Have a very merry Christmas and a suitably drunken New Year .

ZolaPola · 20/12/2004 10:29

Hope FIL & kids okay, sounds v busy for you right now! Hope you have a great Christmas though and look forward to catching up in the new yr (we'll need our chief organiser to sort us out for this!)
Merry Christmas to all!
