There's a chance we may be moving there and I was wondering if any mners live nearby. I would like to move but the thought of having nobody (girls) to go for a drink with fills me with dread so is there anybody socialable nearby who'd come for a drink with me if we moved. I'm very nice honestly!

OOh no link me Link me!! Where's Grange Moor. I'm hoping for the Scholes one too!

ledodgyDave · 02/03/2007 22:26

Gosh I don't care where it is it has lots of pubs!

sarahhal · 02/03/2007 22:27

Bloody hell that was quick!! Grange Moor is just after Flockton. Am rubbish at links and too much vin rouge will render me incapable but give me half an hour.....

sarahhal · 02/03/2007 22:30

house

Think that works! And it was 137,000 not 139,000!!

ledodgyDave · 02/03/2007 22:31

I can only see the one for 137000 is grange moor and it has 2 beds?

ledodgyDave · 02/03/2007 22:33

Ahh corss posts it's lovely but the bedrooms are too small.

sarahhal · 02/03/2007 22:33

Oh bugger, thought it was three beds!! Oh well! Good luck still with Scholes!

ledodgyDave · 02/03/2007 22:35

If we see one we like tommorrow we can put in an offer even though ours isn't actually up for sale yet can't we? It will be up for sale in a week or two at the most?

sarahhal · 02/03/2007 22:39

Oh this always gets to me too! Don't know if a seller would accept an offer if you haven't got one on yours. We found a house a few months ago which we could have bought and been mortgage free and it was a fab house ( it needed a lot doing but was out in Farnley Tyas if you know it, so lovely location and near to family) but as ours wasnt even on the market they wouldn't even accept the asking price It sold within weeks and the new buyers were in in about six weeks

ledodgyDave · 02/03/2007 22:41

Hmm I hope it will be ok the bonus is the property market in Liverpool is alot faster than round there some have been on the market there for ages. I hope this may sway it!

sarahhal · 02/03/2007 22:46

I guess it just depends on how quickly the vendor wants to move?

ledodgyDave · 02/03/2007 22:48

Yeah that's true...lets hope they're not in too much of a hurry and have no offers previously if they haven't had any other offers in a while they may happily snap up ours! Here's hoping! Will post tommorrow night and let you know if we liked anything we've seen.

Right im back!
Quick summary:
Holmbridge house..nice size, quarter acre sidegarden buit of a sham as it's practically vertical! On a main road with no pavement so not suitable for children at all so that's ano. Woman was nicwe if eccentric 3 parrots greeted us with a "Hello" as we entered!

Scholes...Nice house full of character as where the occupiers probably ask for a second viewing.

Meltham...Nice house but not fussed on area house nice but souless. So a no!

Station Road holmfirth gorgious but was basically a flat on main high street would be ideal for young childless proffessional couple but not us!

Also Bil thinks he's going to sell he's deciding for definate in a week if he does we're buying his house in denby dale it's ideal nice size all done lovely garden.

We're going to stay there next weekend as it's unoccupied atm and we're going to find some more houses to view also.

So that's the latest from me. I'm bloody starving and tired have wine and am going to order pizza so slimming world is off this week!

sarahhal · 03/03/2007 21:07

So the Scholes house was nice then? LOL the parrots in Holmbridge - shame about the main road.

Are you keen to move into your BIL house or would you rather find somewhere else?

(am not permanently fixed to MN by the way!! Just had half an hour on the net and thought would just look at MN before I go and watch Ugly Betty from last night!!!)

ledodgyDave · 03/03/2007 21:27

LOl yeah if bil is selling we love the house so that would be brill. Just looked at some more online and seen some to view next weekend in upper denby and denby dale. The denby dale beer festival is on next weekend too...so whilst we're there.....

sarahhal · 03/03/2007 21:33

Ooh Upper Denby is nice isn't it? I like Upper Cumberworth as well.

I'm ridiculous when it comes to wanting to move. Our eldest DS is only 3.9 but I feel that our next move will prob be where he goes to high school, so want to be in catchment for best schools. We could stay here and he could go to Shelley which is great, but I quite fancy Holmfirth way. Then there's Halifax side as they have some non fee paying grammar schools with brilliant results, and then there's Heckmondwike also with a non fee paying grammar so we could live Mirfield way .... then DH brings me back to reality that no one would actually buy our house in the state it's in!

By the way, I did log off but don't know if you saw my thread ... cats have a mouse in the living room and I'm too much of a scaredy cat to deal with it until it's dead. So the door is shut and I'm upstairs!!!

ledodgyDave · 03/03/2007 21:34

OOh no didn't see your thread LOL! There's one in upper cumberworth we want to view next weekend too!

ledodgyDave · 03/03/2007 21:35

My dd is very close to your ds in age she'll be 4 in April!

sarahhal · 03/03/2007 21:39

Do you think you will sell yours quickly?

sarahhal · 03/03/2007 21:40

OK not envious of you having a DD 4 in May but going to look at house in Upper Cumberworth!!

sarahhal · 03/03/2007 21:40

April

ledodgyDave · 03/03/2007 21:41

Hopefully the market is much faster here as the population is so dense also because it's city of culture next year property developers are buying them in droves. The houses we saw today at least two of them including the Scholes one had been up for sale for 2 years.

ledodgyDave · 03/03/2007 21:41

Just read your last post lmao!

sarahhal · 12/03/2007 21:44

Any more news ledodgy? Just having a look at last week's property pages in t'Examiner and wondered how you hunt was going!
