Wow! We filled a thread!

Hope you all find this new one!

Our evening was great, had a lovely time. kids were all very well behaved. dd sleeping in our bedroom is a nightmare tho - she's sooo noisy!

we need a 3rd bedroom

we're off for Sunday lunch at The Botanist later YUM!

2cute, we're scheduled to have skids that weekend but not confirmed yet. if we do, not sure if i could come and don't want to invite 2 extra kids and dh as that'd be rather cheeky! if we don't then we'll be there

it's far too early for a Sunday!

Have you not discoverd the new improved osterley park tesco it has an upstairs...

If you turn right at gillette corner and go straight ahead at the mini roundabout then you will see it on your right.

D is also out like a light at 7 having had all of an hours sleep during the day today. If he wakes up at 8pm after his "nap" like last time he only slept once in the day then I'll kill him!

suejonez · 17/02/2007 19:11

Would love to but was suggesting Monday! Tuesday is also good for me but not any otehr day except the weekend.

foxabout2pop · 17/02/2007 20:41

Sue - you busy bee. I'm around with DD on Tuesday pm. The Mum of DS's best friend has offered to take DS out with them to give me a break

Do you mean that Tesco which is very near Gillete corner then? Didn't realise that was Osterley. We're dropping DS at Syon Park tomorrow so could whizz down ther and explore!!

ComeOVeneer · 17/02/2007 21:00

Oh my day just gets better. Well dh has sorted with his father, that he (FIL) will take my bag to his office on Monday and dh will pop over at lunch time and get it (luckily they both wrk in the city). That is the good news (and I found some more sudafed). The bad news is dd was complaining at supper her head was itching. You've guessed it ..... nits. Checked everyone else and ds fine, dh fine, but typically I have them too (have had them once in my life when I was eleven). So rather than a relaxing evening letting dh take care of everything I have spent the last hour and a half treating dd and me. And have to do a second treatment in 7 days, when my sister and her kids are staying for the weekend.

ComeOVeneer · 17/02/2007 21:07

Eleusis, would love to get together again soon. I have my sister up all next weekend and am busy the following weekend, but pretty sure the one after that is free (would need to double check the calendar in the kitchen and I am tucked up in bed atm).

foxabout2pop · 17/02/2007 21:10

COV - welcome to the head full of nits club

Gingerbear · 17/02/2007 21:12

Comeoveneer, please could you look at my thread?

pretty please?

foxabout2pop · 18/02/2007 08:12

Morning everyone

Paddle R U free between aboit 4.20 and 5.45?

DS has a party at Syon Park 4-6pm and I wondered if you fancied a cuppa in between?

Let us know if you're busy or not.

DD said last night "I like (insert name of Paddle's DD), she didn't touch any of my toys today" -

Anyone got anything fab planned for today?

We'll be going to Mass
Doing domestic drudge though I might ask Dh to take the DC's to Kew Gardens as they missed out yesterday
Ferrying DS to his party this arvo

MrsD - did you get back OK yesterday - how long did it take you?

Anyone heard from Nanou? I texted her Fruday but no reply Perhaps she's busy house hunting this weekend....?

pudding77 · 18/02/2007 08:18

Morning all,

Sounds like the book swap went well? I'll have to try and return people's books I've got!

Our trip to the science museum was postponed until next week so went for a walk to Richmond instead, along the river. And we got to have a night out last night which was lots of fun!

Paddlechick666 · 18/02/2007 08:22

morning all

yep foxie, it'd be lovely to see you later. it's the awkward hour between tea and bath that I always find it hard to fill!

dd was too busy watching the bigger ones race around to be playing with girls toys!

i had a lovely evening last night. made a king prawn salad, then a huge bowl of popcorn and ordered a "movie on demand". it was a total chick flick called The Lake House - seriously unbelievable but hey, i didn't want anything too cerebral lol.

in bed by 10:20pm and dd didn't wake till 6ish - then she entertained herself until 7am whilst I dozed next door!

off to Osterly Tesco this morning - I'm very excited!

Ds seems to have taken back his morning nap so looks like I have an hour or so to kill! Think the sofa & telly is calling me!

mellow2 · 18/02/2007 08:55

Foxie, thanks for hosting. It was great to see everyone else.

We're off for a big Chinese New Year slap-up dinner tonight in Bayswater as it's Chinese New Year today. I do miss my family on occasions like this.

However food always cheers me up.

sfxmum · 18/02/2007 08:58

morning all

ice to know your children have been kind to you last night
paddle that is the Keanu thing isn't? just the thing to watch with the sound off.

puds - walk by the river sounds nice

planning a really quiet day

MrsBigD · 18/02/2007 09:01

was great to see everybody yesterday

sfx can I have the cake recipe please it was so yummy. At least your dh left you one piece LOL

Foxie thanks for hosting despite your 'condition'. Got home alright and took me 50 mins . If you get totally stuck when contractions hit let me know though it will take me about 1h to get to you ...

Paddlechick666 · 18/02/2007 09:03

oooh yes! happy Chinese New Year everyone.

yeah sfx, the dialogue wasn't great LOL. i actually wanted to watch Brokeback Mountain on Sky Movies but we don't have that channel.

I really couldn't choose - Posiedon and Curious George nearly got my vote. Clearly I was in "watch trash" mode!

I got Planet Earth on DVD for Xmas and I've got a bunch of SG1 DVDs I haven't watched too - I should've remembered them last night!

OP posts:
pudding77 · 18/02/2007 09:04

Hi sfx, it was really nice, especially as it was so mild. Though we did have to do a detour at one point because the tide was in so the road was flooded.

foxie, I would also offer to help should you get stuck but I have absolutely no idea how to get to yours so would probably take me longer than 1hr which isn't really useful . However, if you'd like some help afterwards when it's not so urgent then I'm around.

pudding77 · 18/02/2007 09:05

Paddle - I've found its so much quicker just to put something on sky on than it is to bother with dvds!

Paddlechick666 · 18/02/2007 09:10

Pud, yeah I know. I'm actually a bit weird about watching DVDs or videos. I sort of feel like I'm missing something in Real Life ! ridiculous!

at least I got to watch Lost after missing it on Sunday I recorded it Wednesday. Watched Hotel Babylon on Friday night.

TV is quite good at the mo - Life on Mars, Lost and Hotel Babylon are all back on. I tried to hook back into ER and Shameless but just can't be bothered with them anymore!

sfxmum · 18/02/2007 10:02

mellow happy new year it is funny how once you have children traditions become all the more important.

paddle am missing Life on mars because tuesdays at 9 are for Battlestar

puds i so miss the long walks from kingston to richmond via teddington pubmust drag dd along in the summer

foxie - well i am near enough for a mad dash if you are caught short on childcare,

mrsD will email recipe, pretty easy chuck it all in, mix bake

foxabout2pop · 18/02/2007 10:30

Thanx for your offers of help on the big day. I probably won't need to call on you but its very reassuring to know you are there.

If anything it would probably be dashing round and babysitting just until my Dad arrives to take over. Am worried about the fact that it takes an hour to srive to QC. Two friends form Richmond recently birthed there: One gave birth 20 minutes after they arrived, the other 12 minutes after they arrived !!

Paddle - shall I pop round after I drop DS off then? Wish it was a bit sunnier today, yesterday was lovely.

Mellow - happy Chinese New Year - hope you have a brilliant Day and lots of lovely food

suejonez · 18/02/2007 10:35

Foxie can also do the childcare thing bearing in mind I'm back in work three day from March (not that I think you'll last that long) but you're welcome to try me...

D was pooped and went to bed at 7pm and sure enough woke up again at 8pm though he did go back to sleep afetr a bit of shhshshsh'ing so not too serious. He did however wake up at 6am (I'm used to my 7am starts!) and so at flaked out early. He also has a cold which is adding to his general grumbly grumpiness.

Paddle now has proof that the boy doesn't smile non-stop as he was tired at Kew and wasted no time screaming when he couldn't get his own way. I think Paddle was releived - she'd only seen him smile up to now!

suejonez · 18/02/2007 10:38

Yes happy new year Mellow - maybe next year we could to a Chinese New year meet with families and you can teach us some of the traditions.

Kazkahstan is such a melting pot that they send new year cards on 1st January with pigs (year of pig this year, obviously would be other animals in other years) dressed as father Frost (aka Father Christmas) - beat that for a mixed metaphor (allusion? whatever)

pudding77 · 18/02/2007 10:47

happy new year Mellow, hope you have a good time tonight!

It looks like we're spending today working out finances to send ds to nursery. And baby-proofing as he has now tried to climb the stairs a couple of times. Can't believe we haven't done it yet!

pudding77 · 18/02/2007 10:48

Sfx, btw battlestar is repeated on Saturday nights at 10pm so you could still catch life on mars.

foxabout2pop · 18/02/2007 10:49

Sue - I was quite impressed with D's screaming ability too yesterday!!!

Children learn so fast don't they, how to wrap us round their chubby little fingers?
